AIRBAG STRUCTURE
The present disclosure relates to an airbag structure, and the airbag structure according to the present disclosure includes a body (100) into which a fluid is injected, wherein a plurality of predetermined points (A) spaced apart from each other is arranged on a side along a lengthwise direction, and a protrusion (200) into which the fluid is injected from the body (100), the protrusion (200) extending from the two adjacent predetermined points (A) in a direction facing away from the body (100), wherein the protrusion (200) has a smaller width of a farthest end from the body (100) than a width of an opposite end connected to the body (100).
CAMERA ACTIVATION RESPONSE TO VEHICLE SAFETY EVENT
Methods and systems are provided for transmitting video data associated with a vehicle. In one exemplary embodiment, a vehicle processor determines a vehicle safety event based on one or more safety sensors, activates one or more vehicle cameras that capture video data in response to the determined vehicle safety event, records the video data in a vehicle data storage device, and, if the vehicle processor determines that a suitable connection to a telecommunications network is available when the video data is being captured, then transmits the video data over the telecommunications network in substantially real time.
Selectively inflated crossbar airbag
An assembly for a vehicle includes a first seat and a second seat. The assembly includes a crossbar positioned between the first seat and the second seat. The assembly includes an airbag supported by the crossbar. The assembly includes a controller programmed to position the crossbar in a raised position in response to a detected occupant egress.
Venting of airbag for adjustment of cushioning surface position
A vehicle airbag system includes an airbag having a cushioning surface configured to be contacted by a user to cushion the user after inflation of the airbag. The airbag also includes at least one cushioning surface positioning vent coupled to the cushioning surface. The at least one cushioning surface positioning vent is actuatable to direct a flow of gas exiting an interior of the airbag so as to produce a reaction force which moves the cushioning surface in a predetermined direction.
Vehicle Safety Seat
A vehicle safety seat for protecting a vehicle occupant from injury due to impact and airborne debris, in the event of a collision. The vehicle safety seat includes a seat bottom, a backrest, and a headrest, wherein the seat is secured to a frame. The frame is pivotally secured to the floor and frame of a vehicle, wherein the seat can recline immediately in advance of a collision for absorbing impact forces. The safety seat further includes telescoping shields that are retractably secured to the lateral sides of the seat bottom, backrest, and headrest. The shields are projected from the safety seat, creating a protective cocoon around the seat occupant prior to a collision. The seat is operably connected to one or more sensors that can detect an imminent collision between the vehicle and another object, wherein a pneumatic system deploys the shields and an electro-mechanical system reclines the seat.
Airbag extension system
Aspects of the disclosure relate to reducing the likelihood of injury to a passenger in a collision. In one example, a computing device may determine that an impact between a vehicle and an object external to the vehicle is imminent. The computing device may determine a protection range for a vehicle's airbag based on characteristics of the passenger, including the passenger's seating location within the vehicle. An airbag extension system may position an airbag package, including the vehicle's airbag, such that the vehicle's airbag is within the protection range of the passenger's seating location.
Deployable seat armrest
A seat includes a seatback and an armrest supported by the seatback. The armrest is rotatable relative to the seatback to a deployed position. A swing bar is supported by the armrest and is rotatable relative to the armrest to a downward position. The swing bar in the downward position is elongated downwardly from the armrest. A drive belt is indexed with the armrest and the swing bar to rotate the swing bar to the downward position when the armrests rotates to the deployed position.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ISOLATING COMPARTMENTS OF A VEHICLE
System, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to isolating a compartment. In one embodiment, a method includes isolating airflow to an occupant by actuation of a partition in response to a signal indicating a risk and the partition utilizes an inflatable bladder to seal an area of a compartment in a vehicle. The method also includes communicating a precaution associated with the actuation to occupants.
DEPLOYABLE PLATE FOR REARWARD-FACING SEAT
An assembly of a dash for a vehicle includes a first plate and a second plate movable along an axis away from the first plate. The second plate moves from an undeployed position to a deployed position. The assembly includes spring between the first plate and the second plate that biases the second plate toward the deployed position. The assembly includes a post extending along the axis from the second plate through the first plate. The assembly includes a pin releasably engaging the post with the first plate in the undeployed position. The assembly includes a release supported by the first plate and connected to the pin. The pin is disengageable from the post transverse to the axis by the release.
Vehicle footrest
A vehicle footrest includes a footrest body that is disposed at a seat front side of a vehicle seat and that is configured to support a foot of an occupant; a restraining member that is provided at a toe-side end portion of the footrest body, and that is movable between a restraining position covering the foot of the occupant from a seat upper side and a retracted position retracted from the restraining position; and a moving mechanism configured to move the restraining member from the retracted position to the restraining position at a time of vehicle collision in which the occupant moves toward the seat front side due to inertia.
