VEHICLE SEAT

A vehicle seat includes a seat back, a motor, a gear, a take-up device and a pre-tensioner component. The seat back extends in a seat vertical direction and supports the back area of a seat occupant. A seat back frame structures a framework of the seat back. The motor is mounted to an upper portion of the seat back frame. The gear is arranged along the seat back frame adjacent to the motor and transmits driving force from the motor. The take-up device is arranged along the seat back frame adjacent to the gear, and is provided with a spool onto which a webbing is wound. Driving force from the motor is transmitted to the take-up device via the gear. The pre-tensioner component is arranged along the seat back frame adjacent to the take-up device. When activated, the pre-tensioner component forcibly takes up the spool.

Seatbelt pretensioning retractor assembly including a pretensioner rod

A seatbelt pretensioning retractor assembly for use in a passenger vehicle is provided. The pretensioning assembly includes a tube in fluid communication with a gas generator and a driving element disposed therein that travels in a first direction in response to actuation of the gas generator. The driving element includes a polymer rod with a recessed portion. A stopper is coupled to an end portion of the polymer rod. The tube includes a projection extending within the tube adjacent to the exit to define a constriction portion. The constriction portion is sized to permit the recessed portion of the polymer rod to pass therethrough while preventing the stopper from passing therethrough. The polymer rod has a retention feature for releasably engaging the projection.

Seat belt retractor and seat belt apparatus

To provide a seat belt retractor and a seat belt apparatus in which contact between a locking base and a base frame can be suppressed. A seat belt retractor includes a spool 2 that retracts a webbing restraining an occupant, a base frame 3 that accommodates the spool 2 while allowing the spool 2 to rotate, and a lock mechanism 4 regulating rotation of the spool 2. The lock mechanism 4 includes a locking base 41 disposed at an end portion of the spool 2, an opening 31 that is formed in the base frame 3 and allows the locking base 41 to be inserted therethrough, engagement teeth 32 formed at an inner edge of the opening 31, and a pawl 42 that is disposed radially outwardly movable relative to the locking base 41 and engageable with the engagement teeth 32. The lock mechanism 4 further includes a protect cover 43 that is attached to the locking base 41 and includes a side wall portion 43b disposed along a side surface portion of the locking base 41.

The mounting portion of the unitary bobbin defines a plurality of slots through which the seatbelt webbing is passed. The seatbelt webbing retractor also includes a spindle extending through the mounting portion of the unitary bobbin and a retractor frame to which the spindle is mounted. The unitary bobbin is rotatable with respect to the retractor frame and an outer surface of the unitary bobbin is configured to be wrapped with the seatbelt webbing.

SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY

An assembly includes a seat, a lap retractor fixed relative to the seat, a shoulder retractor fixed relative to the seat, and a first buckle fixed relative to the seat. A lap belt is retractably extendable from the lap retractor. A first tongue is fixed to the lap belt and is releasably engageable with the first buckle. A second buckle is fixed to the lap belt. A shoulder belt is retractably extendable from the shoulder retractor. A second tongue is fixed to the shoulder belt and is releasably engageable with the second buckle.

VEHICLE SEAT ASSEMBLY

A seat assembly is provided herein. The seat assembly includes a seat member having a support surface. A pair of seat member bolsters is disposed on opposing sides of the seat member. A seat base supports the seat member and has a wraparound sidewall that extends above a bottom portion of each seat member bolster.

In a webbing take-up device, a cover member is disposed on the inner side of a second peripheral wall of a second housing member. Due thereto, an outer side surface of a third peripheral wall of the cover member and an inner side surface of the second peripheral wall of the second housing member oppose each other in a radial direction of urging, which is a radial direction of rotation of rotational urging force of a flat spiral spring, so displacement of the cover member outward in the radial direction of urging can be suppressed.
