A USB charger includes a connector for plugging into a cigarette lighter socket of a motor vehicle. The USB charged provides one or more USB sockets and includes an integrated alarm unit for protection against intruders in the motor vehicle. The alarm unit includes a motion sensor and an acoustic alarm signal generator.

A theft prevention system includes a vehicle having an ignition switch; a sensor mounted to an undercarriage of the vehicle and having a shutter; an alarm; a series of relays including a first relay to open normally closed contacts when the ignition switch is on, thereby disconnecting constant voltage supply to the sensor, making the sensor inactive; a second relay to close normally open contacts when the sensor is activated; and a third relay to open and close the shutter to reveal the sensor based on whether the ignition switch is activated or deactivated, activation of the ignition switch closes normally open contacts to cause the shutter to close and conceal the sensor; the series of relays control when the sensor monitors and activation of the alarm upon detection by the sensor of movement.

Improved systems and techniques are disclosed for controlling the security states of anti-theft security systems such as product display assemblies using security fobs. According to an example embodiment, a manager security fob and another security fob that is to be authorized for use in controlling the security status of a product display assembly can interact with a system in accordance with a defined sequence to add the another security fob to an authorization list for the product display assembly. For example, the defined sequence can be a connection of the manager security fob with the system, followed by a disconnection of the manager security fob from the system, followed a connection of the another security fob with the system within a defined window.

An apparatus, including a first controller located at a vehicle which monitors, and detects an event regarding, a system, equipment system, component, device, or equipment, of the vehicle. The vehicle is a shipping container, pallet, tote, or piece of luggage. The first controller generates and transmits a first signal, containing information regarding the event, to a second controller. The second controller is located remote from the vehicle, automatically receives the first signal, and generates and transmits a second signal, containing information regarding the event, via the Internet or World Wide Web to a communication device located remote from the second controller. The apparatus activates, de-activates, disables, re-enables, or controls an operation of, the system, equipment system, component, device, or equipment, of the vehicle.

A system, method, and device for operations of an electrically motorized vehicle. The vehicle can utilize an electrically motorized wheel to convert a non-motorized wheeled vehicle to an electrically motorized wheeled vehicle. A user interface for controlling the device of the electrically motorized wheel includes at least one button displayable by the user interface to control a function associated with the device.

The components of the alarm system are fully enclosed within a portable housing and require no external power or data signal connections. A mobile transmitter generates a proximity signal indicating a given range from the vehicle. An audible alarm signal and a GPS location signal are generated in response to the output of one or more sensors indicating a particular occurrence, if a transmitter is outside of the given range, indicating that the driver has left the vehicle unattended and vulnerable to attack. When the vehicle is driven by an authorized driver having the transmitter, the received proximity signal indicates that the driver is within the given range, preventing the generation of the audible alarm resulting from sensors being triggered by shifting cargo in the cargo compartment resulting from vehicle movement and irregular road surface conditions during transit.

A method for operating a vehicle includes monitoring for a presence of an assigned authorization element in the vehicle during operating the vehicle and operating the vehicle in a secure state when the assigned authorization element is not detected, where a performance parameter of the vehicle is at least temporarily modified in the secure state.

Improved systems and techniques are disclosed for controlling the security states of anti-theft security systems such as product display assemblies using security fobs. The tasks relating to fob authentication are offloaded to a computer system, and these authentications can be based on identifiers for the different security fobs. The computer system can maintain a list of identifiers for authorized security fobs that is easily updated when new security fobs are added to or existing security fobs are de-authorized from the system.

Some embodiments are directed to a vehicle remote keyless entry system that can control functions of a vehicle can include a transceiver, a processor based controller, and a remote device. The controller is configured to predefine one or more substantially concentric radio frequency authorization zones around the controller that includes at least a first zone and a second zone, a boundary of the second zone being predefined as closer around the controller than a boundary of the first zone. The controller is configured to instruct the transceiver to transmit a polling signal, which can be received by the remote device within the one or more concentric authorization zones, with different polling intervals for each of the first zone and the second zone. The controller selectively enables one or more of the vehicle functions when the controller determines the remote device is located outside of the second zone.
