A system and method for disabling a function of a feature of a vehicle based on a validation request to a centralized validation authority, prior to a use of the feature includes determining that a condition is met as part of a startup sequence of the vehicle, transmitting the validation request to the centralized validation authority, in response to determining the condition is met, wherein the validation request is part of the startup sequence of the vehicle, receiving a validation decision from the centralized validation authority, and disabling the feature of the vehicle as a function of the receiving the validation decision.

A system and a method for controlling a vehicle. A system for controlling a vehicle includes: the vehicle having a vehicle control unit operable to detect a user's input to control at least one of a door and a start of an engine, and control the at least one of the door and the start of the engine; and a mobile device including a sensor capable of detecting a position and a motion pattern of the mobile device. When the vehicle control unit detects the user's input, the vehicle control unit is operable to collect a latest position of the mobile device and the motion pattern of the mobile device from the sensor, determine a current position of the mobile device with respect to the vehicle based on the collected information, and decide whether to control the at least one of the door and the start of the engine.

A method of remotely activating a vehicle system of a vehicle, the vehicle being part of a vehicle-share enterprise, the method including generating a control signal based on session parameters associated with a vehicle-sharing session, preconditioning parameters associated with the vehicle-sharing session, and sensor data associated with the vehicle-sharing session, where the sensor data includes vehicle sensor data from one or more sensors of the vehicle associated with the vehicle-sharing session, client device sensor data from one or more sensors of a client device, or a combination thereof. The method includes, prior to initiating the vehicle-sharing session, broadcasting the control signal to the vehicle, where the control signal is configured to selectively control the vehicle system.

A device may receive an arming signal associated with immobilizing a vehicle. The device may monitor, based on receiving the arming signal, a current associated with an electrical power output from a battery of the vehicle. The device may detect that a measurement of the current satisfies a threshold associated with an ignition component starting an engine of the vehicle. The device may control, based on detecting that the current satisfies the threshold, a bypass circuit to reduce the electrical power output to prevent the ignition component from starting the engine.

METHOD FOR STARTING VEHICLE AND RELATED DEVICE
A method for starting a vehicle and a related device. The method includes: A server sends first security information and second security information to a mobile terminal and a telematics box respectively through an encrypted secure transmission channel or an encrypted secure transmission protocol, so that the telematics box can verify, by using the first security information and the second security information, a vehicle start instruction sent by the mobile terminal. When the verification succeeds, the telematics box controls the vehicle to start. The method help to avoid plaintext transmission of the security information between the mobile terminal and the telematics box, thereby avoiding leakage of the security information, and reducing a risk that the vehicle is maliciously started. In addition, a transmission process of the security information may not be restricted by a distance between the vehicle and the mobile terminal.
