A sensory tool, therapy putty, board, and method for using same. The sensory tool provides for self-regulation, fine motor dexterity, and grip strengthening through a series of imprints and features on its surface(s) that when pressed into resistive putty allows for impressions to be made. When this tool is combined with therapy putty it can be used to strengthen muscles, simulate functional tasks, and provide graded resistance that reinforces the sensorimotor experience to facilitate muscle memory and motor learning.

Exploratory learning device
11450229 · 2022-09-20 ·

An exploratory learning device including a pair of body frame members worn by a first user and a second user respectively. Each body frame member has a shape for receiving a corresponding user's upper torso and each body frame member includes a center aperture. The pair of body frame members are attachably connected to one another by an adjustable beam which is positioned between the pair of body frame members thereby creating an interdependency of movement between the first and second users and thereby causing a distance of separation between the first and the second users. The adjustable beam has a ball and socket attached at both ends of the beam. Each ball and socket connects to the center aperture of a corresponding body frame member which allows the corresponding user to move in different positions to explore dynamics of physical connectivity and physical forces between the first user and the second user.

Training device for chewing and swallowing
11420094 · 2022-08-23 ·

The training device for chewing and swallowing can be used by patients who have difficulty chewing and/or swallowing to assist them to learn how to chew and swallow. The device includes a bolus delivery cylinder and a plunger. The bolus delivery cylinder can include a cylindrical housing having a peripheral wall and a hollow interior. The plunger can be slidably received in the cylindrical housing and secured thereto. In some embodiments the peripheral wall can be perforated. The interior of the housing is configured to accommodate small pieces of food. The bolus delivery cylinder can be made from a transparent, flexible material, such as silicon.

Treadmills with obstacles and methods of use

A treadmill may be configured for gait training and/or therapy with attachable/detachable barriers affixable to a belt and/or with a vertical obstacle module and/or with sensor systems, but without requiring hoists, harnesses, attachments to the treadmill or base, or frame, and/or excessively high treadmill frames, such as those that exceed the height of the person on the treadmill. The barriers on the belt are configured to modify movement of only one foot of a person on the treadmill. The treadmill may use a single, integral belt. Methods of gait training and/or therapy may involve such treadmills without excessive expense and without excessive modification of standard treadmill equipment.

Multimodal sensory feedback system and method for treatment and assessment of disequilibrium, balance and motion disorders

The invention relates to a system and method for measuring the biomechanical state of a subject using various sensors simultaneously with providing the subject with visual exercises for rehabilitation and assessment of disequilibrium, balance and motion disorders. The biomechanical state of a subject is measured during the subject's performance of a predetermined task. Such measurements are useful for the assessment of disequilibrium, balance and motion disorders and are also useful for the determination of therapeutic application of vibrotactile, auditory, or visual feedback to a subject during the subject's attempt to perform a predetermined task. An intelligent controller compares the subject's biomechanical state to a predetermined parameter to determine a variance. If the variance exceeds a threshold, feedback in the form of visual feedback, vibrotactile feedback or auditory feedback may be provided to the subject as a therapeutic means for enabling the subject to compensate for disorder effects.

Apparatus and method for physical exercises

An apparatus and a method for physical exercises is provided. The apparatus may include at least one rigid cylinder of circular or polygonal shape. The apparatus is designed for functional training exercises, including but not limited to, dry-land, surf-specific training. The apparatus is versatile and may be used in any and all fitness programs, as well as physical and rehabilitation therapy. Corresponding methods for performing physical exercises on at least one rigid cylinder are also provided.

FITNESS DEVICE FOR TRAINING THE WHOLE BODY

A fitness device for training the whole body. The device has coaxially arranged one over tubular elements of the same diameter, and an inner body disposed in the cavities 4′, 5′ and 7′, defined by the tubular elements. At the base of the inner body is a drive motor, providing rotational movement of the lower tubular element and the part of the inner body disposed in its cavity, which transmits the rotational movement and of the part of the inner body disposed in the cavity, by a spindle, at least two obstacles with identical construction respectively lower and upper, each magnetically connected to a sliding means, respectively detachably connected to sliders and of the inner body and a cover.

Apparatus for human gait manipulation
