Apparatus for providing around view
An apparatus for providing an around view comprises: first and second cameras for acquiring first and second image information; and a processor. The processor can generate an around view image including a first area including a subject overlapping area and a second area excluding the subject overlapping area, on the basis of first and second images. The subject overlapping area is disposed between first and second boundary lines in the first and second images. The first boundary line is located in the first area, and the second boundary line adjoins the second area. If it is predicted that a first object will pass through the second boundary line due to the first object approaching within a predetermined distance thereto, the processor can generate an around view image in which the second area is changed so that the second area includes the subject overlapping area.
Around view synthesis system and method
The present invention discloses an around view synthesis system, including: a plurality of cameras each mounted in a vehicle to capture respective different areas around the vehicle; a boundary setting unit setting a synthesis boundary of images captured in an overlapping region where images captured by the plurality of cameras are overlapped; and an image synthesizer receiving the images captured by the plurality of cameras and synthesizing the received images according to the synthesis boundary set by the boundary setting unit.
Methods and systems for monitoring human body weight with vehicle sensors and big data AI analytics
A weight management system for managing vehicle seat occupant body weight by using vehicle cameras and weight sensors of a plurality of vehicles having onboard communication modules. Each vehicle is equipped to analyze and compare weight changes of the vehicle seat occupant over time. Based on the weight status, a weight management recommendation can be transmitted to the vehicle seat occupant. Each vehicle is operatively connected to a weight management application in a data center. The weight management application includes a registration module which registers each vehicle. Additionally, a vehicle seat occupant may register with the weight management application to have his/her weight analyzed when travelling in any of the plurality of vehicles. The weight management application requests a search of a data lake and analysis of search results by a weight data artificial intelligence analytics program to improve the weight management recommendation.
Assisted parking maneuvers for vehicles coupled in a towed recharging arrangement
Leading and trailing electrified vehicles are coupled together in a towing arrangement for in-flight transfer of an electrical charge between their battery systems. With the vehicles connected by a towing device, a parking maneuver is initiated in which the trailing vehicle leads the leading vehicle. For the parking maneuver, one of the vehicles is designated (e.g., automatically or by driver agreement) to be an active steering vehicle and the other vehicle to be a passive steering vehicle. At least the passive steering vehicle comprises an electrically-controlled steering actuator. During movement, a turning (e.g., steering angle) of the active steering vehicle is monitored. Based on the turning of the active steering vehicle, an assistive steering angle is determined for the passive steering vehicle. The electrically-controlled steering actuator is commanded according to the assistive steering angle. The parking maneuver may be reverse or forward.
Surround view monitoring system and providing method of the same
A surround view monitoring system and a method for providing the same, including a plurality of registration cameras, each mounted on a vehicle and photographing different areas around the vehicle; a depth camera that acquires distance information with respect to an obstacle existing around the vehicle; an image synthesis unit that generates a synthesis image by synthesizing images photographed by the plurality of registration cameras, and displays the distance information with respect to the obstacle acquired by the depth camera on an obstacle existing in the synthesis image; and an image control unit that displays the synthesized synthesis image on a display device are disclosed.
AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE WITH UNOBTRUSIVE SENSORS
A vehicle having an array of sensors mounted entirely within and without protrusion beyond a pre-existing exterior surface of a vehicle, sufficient to give a substantially complete 360 degree perimeter sweep of data collection for operating an autonomously driven vehicle.
Shared median-scaling metric for multi-camera self-supervised depth evaluation
A method for multi-camera self-supervised depth evaluation is described. The method includes training a self-supervised depth estimation model and an ego-motion estimation model according to a multi-camera photometric loss associated with a multi-camera rig of an ego vehicle. The method also includes generating a single-scale correction factor according to a depth map of each camera of the multi-camera rig during a time-step. The method further includes predicting a 360° point cloud of a scene surrounding the ego vehicle according to the self-supervised depth estimation model and the ego-motion estimation model. The method also includes scaling the 360° point cloud according to the single-scale correction factor to form an aligned 360° point cloud.
DYNAMIC POWER THROTTLING OF SPINNING LIDAR
An autonomous vehicle having a LIDAR system that scans a field of view is described herein. With more specificity, a computing system of the autonomous vehicle defines a region of interest in the field of view for a scan of the field of view by the LIDAR system. The region of interest is a portion of the field of view. Based on the region of interest, the computing system transmits a control signal to the LIDAR system that causes the LIDAR system to emit first light pulses with a first intensity within the region of interest during the scan and second light pulses with a second intensity outside the region of interest during the scan. The first intensity is different from the second intensity to provide different ranges for distance measurements inside and outside the region of interest.
Vehicular exterior lighting system with ground illumination
A vehicular exterior lighting system includes a lighting module disposed at a side of a vehicle. The lighting module includes at least one light emitting diode. The lighting module is operable to emit light that is viewable by a person exterior the side of the vehicle who is viewing the side of the vehicle. The lighting module emits white light responsive to a signal from a remote device to provide ground illumination of a ground region at the side of the vehicle at which the lighting module is disposed, and the lighting module (i) emits a first color of light responsive to a door lock signal and (ii) emits a second color of light responsive to a door unlock signal. The first color of light is different than the second color of light.
MULTIFUNCTIONAL ELECTRONIC ARMATURE
A multifunctional electronic armature for a motor vehicle includes a housing mounted to the motor vehicle, wherein the housing articulates from a first position where the housing is flush with the outer trim or body panel of the motor vehicle and a second position where the housing is extended from the outer trim or body panel of the motor vehicle, a first electronic device mounted within the housing that is concealed when the housing is in the first position and that is exposed when the housing is in the second position, and a second electronic device mounted within the housing that is concealed when the housing is in the first position and that is exposed when the housing is in the second position.
