An imaging assembly includes an image acquisition circuit provided in a rear portion of a moving body. The image acquisition circuit includes an optical circuit and an image capturing circuit. The optical circuit forms an image in a first region and an image in a second region on the peripheral side having a lower image capturing magnification than the first region. A light receiving surface of the image capturing circuit includes a region in which light is incident along the optical axis of the optical circuit through the first region, and a region in which light is incident through the second region. The image acquisition circuit is disposed so that the optical axis of the optical circuit passes through an opening provided in the moving body, and light from the rear end of the moving body is incident on the image capturing surface.

Road detection system with extendable sensors
11608010 · 2023-03-21 ·

A sensor system for a vehicle includes sensors that can be extended further away from the vehicle in order to obtain additional information. The sensors can be kept in their stowed position, to obtain the minimum amount of information but to maintain maximum of the looks of the vehicle. The sensors can then be extended to obtain additional information about the vehicles.

Vehicle display device (10) including a display unit (50), installed in a cabin of a vehicle and having a display face oriented in a different direction from a direction of a driver (DR), configured to display an image depicting a surrounding area of the vehicle, and a mirror unit (55) installed in the cabin of the vehicle and configured to reflect some or all of an image area displayed on the display unit (50). A visible range of the surrounding area visible to the driver through an image of the display unit (50) reflected in the mirror unit (55) changes according to movement of a viewing position of the driver (DR) with respect to the mirror unit (55).

IMAGE PROCESSING DEVICE, IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, PROGRAM, AND IMAGE PRESENTATION SYSTEM

The present disclosure relates to an image processing device, an image processing method, a program, and an image presentation system capable of presenting a more suitable image to the interior of a vehicle.

An image processing unit generates a presentation image to be presented to the interior of a second vehicle that is traveling, on the basis of a vehicle external image obtained by capturing an environment outside a first vehicle that is traveling. The present disclosure can be applied to, for example, a projector type presentation device.

Active infrared illumination for enhancing rear vision from a vehicle

An imaging assembly for use in a vehicle is disclosed. The imaging assembly may include an image sensor configured to capture image data and an electro-optic element configured to selectively control a range of wavelengths corresponding to light in a near infrared (NIR) range of light entering the image sensor. The electro-optic element may include a first portion configured to absorb the range of wavelengths entering the image sensor and a second portion configured to absorb the range of wavelengths entering the image sensor in a first state and to transmit the range of wavelengths entering the image sensor in a second state. The second portion may be electrically isolated from the first portion. A controller may be in communication with the image sensor and the electro-optic element. The controller may be operable to switch the second portion between the first state and the second state.

DRIVING ASSISTANCE APPARATUS, DRIVING ASSISTANCE METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
20230084498 · 2023-03-16 ·

A driving assistance apparatus comprises an image recognition unit configured to acquire an image of a traffic signal for an oncoming traffic lane from a rearward image capturing apparatus for capturing an image rearward of a vehicle, and in a case in which the vehicle is in a waiting state for turning across oncoming traffic at an intersection, to recognize a display state of the traffic signal for the oncoming traffic lane based on an image of the traffic signal for the oncoming traffic lane; a determination unit configured to determine, based on at least the display state of the traffic signal for the oncoming traffic lane that is recognized in the waiting state, whether or not a turning operation across the oncoming traffic lane is possible; and an information presentation unit configured to present information corresponding to the result of the determination to the driver.

Rear View Camera Assembly
20230082856 · 2023-03-16 ·

A rear view camera assembly includes an actuator that is mounted to a bottom side of a vehicle. The actuator is actuatable into an extended condition or a retracted condition. A camera is coupled to the actuator and the camera has a pair of lenses. Each of the lenses is partially angled toward a respective right side and left side of the vehicle to capture imagery within 180.0 degrees of the rear end of the vehicle. A display is disposed in the vehicle such that the display is visible to the driver. The display displays video footage of the imagery captured by each of the lenses on the camera to facilitate a driver of the vehicle to see objects approaching from either the right side or the left side when the driver is backing the vehicle.

Vehicle hatch clearance determining system
11603041 · 2023-03-14 · ·

A vehicle hatch clearance determining system includes a plurality of cameras disposed at the vehicle and a control having a processor for processing image data captured by the cameras. During a parking event, and responsive to processing of captured image data, the system detects objects, gathers information pertaining to detected objects exterior the vehicle and generates an environmental model based at least in part on the gathered information. With the vehicle parked, the system determines location of the vehicle relative to at least one detected object of the environmental model and determines if the model includes an object in a region that would be swept by a hatch of the parked vehicle when the hatch is being opened or closed. Responsive to determination that the object is in the region that would be swept by the hatch, the system stops movement of the hatch to avoid impact with the object.

Surround-view with seamless transition to 3D view system and method

A method for seamless transition from a 2D surround view to a 3D surround view. The method includes initializing the 2D-SRV processing chain, displaying the 2D surround view while waiting for HLOS handshake to complete and upon completion of a HLOS handshake, initializing a 3D-SRV processing chain and waiting for a 3D-SRV buffer output; disabling the 2D-SRV display pipeline and enabling a 3D-SRV display pipeline; enabling switchback monitor; atomically switching to 3D surround view seamlessly and glitch free; and displaying 3D surround view on a monitor.
