Multi-camera vehicular vision system

A vehicular vision system includes a front camera and a rear camera disposed at a vehicle and each viewing exterior of the vehicle. Each of the cameras connects with a control via a respective mono coaxial cable. The respective mono coaxial cables carry control data from the control to the respective cameras and carry image data captured by the respective cameras to the control. The control generates an output provided to a video display device of the vehicle. The video display device includes a video display screen viewable by a driver of the vehicle. During a reversing maneuver of the vehicle, the video display screen displays video images of an area rearward the vehicle derived from image data captured by the rear camera and carried to the control by the respective mono coaxial cable.

Image display system for work machine

An image display system for a work machine including working equipment having a working tool and a turning body to which the working equipment is attached, includes: a position detector detecting at least one of an attitude and a position of the working equipment; a distance detector obtaining information on a distance from the work machine to a work target; and a processing device that generates, by using information on a position of the working tool obtained by the position detector and information on a position of the work target obtained from the information on the distance obtained by the distance detector, a first image including a portion corresponding to a part of the working tool and extending along a turning direction of the turning body, on the work target opposed to the working tool, and displays the first image on the display device.

Vehicle display control device and vehicle display control method for displaying predicted wheel locus

A vehicle display control device includes: a locus determination unit determining a predicted locus of a wheel of a subject vehicle according to a steering angle of the subject vehicle; and a display processing unit displaying an image of a field view of the subject vehicle including a vehicle body of the subject vehicle on a display device, and the display processing unit superimposes the guide line indicating the predicted locus determined by the locus determination unit on the image of the field view regardless of the steering angle of the subject vehicle, while semi-transparently displaying a portion of the guide line which overlaps with the vehicle body, thereby allowing visibility of the vehicle body.

Vehicular display system

A vehicular display system shows a view image including a blind area with superior visibility. Embodiments include an imaging unit that captures an image of a surrounding area of a vehicle; an image processing unit that converts the image into a view image of the surrounding area of the vehicle seen from inside a cabin; and a display unit. The image processing unit generates a rear-view image acquired when an area behind the vehicle is seen from a first virtual viewpoint located in the cabin, and a front-view image acquired when an area in front of the vehicle is seen from a second virtual viewpoint located behind the first virtual viewpoint in the cabin. The display unit shows the rear-view image when the vehicle travels backward, the front-view image when the vehicle travels forward, and shows both of the view images at substantially the same angle of view.

Method for displaying reduced distortion video images via a vehicular vision system

A method for displaying video images via a vehicular vision system includes providing a rear backup camera having an imager and a wide angle lens disposed at the imager with its center axis vertically offset from a center region of an imaging array sensor of the imager. A distant central horizon region is imaged at the upper region of the imaging array sensor via light that has passed through a center region of the wide angle lens, and a closer region is imaged at the center region and the lower region of the imaging array sensor via light that has passed through a lower peripheral region of the wide angle lens. Video images derived from image data captured by the rear backup camera are displayed on a video display for viewing by a driver of the vehicle during a reversing maneuver of the vehicle.

METHOD FOR HARMONIZING IMAGES ACQUIRED FROM NON OVERLAPPING CAMERA VIEWS

An image processing method for harmonizing images acquired by a first camera and a second camera connected to a vehicle and arranged in such a way as their fields of view cover a same road space at different times as the vehicle travels along a travel direction is disclosed. The method includes: acquiring by a selected camera, a first image at a first time; selecting a first region of interest bounding a road portion from the first image; sampling the first region of interest; acquiring by the other camera, a second image in such a way that the road portion is included in a second region of interest; sampling the second region of interest; and determining one or more correction parameters for harmonizing images acquired by the first and second cameras, based on a comparison between the image content of the first and second regions of interest.

ENHANCED TRANSPARENT TRAILER

A system for generating a composite image of an area behind a vehicle includes a controller that receives a first image of a trailer from a vehicle camera and a second image of an area aft of the trailer with a trailer camera. A portion of the area around the vehicle is not within a line of sight of either the vehicle camera or the trailer camera. A third image of an area proximate the vehicle is obtained from a database containing previously obtained images and combines the first image, the second image and the third image into a composite image. A method of generating a composite image is also disclosed.

Camera System for Particulate Material Trailer
20220324394 · 2022-10-13 · ·

A camera system for a trailer that cooperates with a tarping system of the trailer to capture images during loading and unloading. The camera transmits the images to a display. A driver may watch the display to monitor loading and unloading. The camera system maintains a camera of the camera system positioned to capture images of an interior of the trailer regardless of the operation of the tarping system. The camera system generally includes an arm member, a pivot structure connected to the arm member, a camera connected to the arm member, and a weight connected to the arm member. Responsive to a force of gravity the camera remains oriented upward to capture images of the interior of the trailer during loading and unloading.

Apparatus for providing around view
11661005 · 2023-05-30 · ·

An apparatus for providing an around view comprises: first and second cameras for acquiring first and second image information; and a processor. The processor can generate an around view image including a first area including a subject overlapping area and a second area excluding the subject overlapping area, on the basis of first and second images. The subject overlapping area is disposed between first and second boundary lines in the first and second images. The first boundary line is located in the first area, and the second boundary line adjoins the second area. If it is predicted that a first object will pass through the second boundary line due to the first object approaching within a predetermined distance thereto, the processor can generate an around view image in which the second area is changed so that the second area includes the subject overlapping area.

Vehicular trailering assist system

A vehicular trailering assist system includes a vehicle rear backup camera disposed at a rear portion of a vehicle and viewing at least rearward of the vehicle. A trailer hitched to the vehicle includes a trailer rear camera disposed at a rear portion of the trailer and viewing at least rearward of the trailer. The control displays at a display device in the vehicle a surround view image using an avatar of the vehicle and an avatar of the trailer. The control stitches images derived from image data captured by the vehicle rear backup camera and images derived from the trailer rear camera to provide a transparent trailer view, and the display device displays transparent trailer view video images. Responsive to the vehicle being shifted into a reverse gear, the display device automatically displays rear backup images derived from image data captured by the trailer rear camera.
