Disclosed herein are a vehicle settlement system and method, and more particularly, a vehicle settlement system and method that utilize object recognition information as settlement authentication information. The vehicle settlement system according to an embodiment includes a vehicle control system, a financial settlement server, and a store system. Here, the vehicle control system includes an object recognition module that is provided to collect object information for settlement authentication, and a vehicle control system control unit that recognizes an object based on the object information collected by the object recognition module.

System and method for managing service and non-service related activities associated with a waste collection, disposal and/or recycling vehicle

Systems and methods are provided for using video/still images captured by continuously recording optical sensors mounted on waste collection vehicles used in the waste collection, disposal and recycling industry for operational and customer service related purposes. Optical sensors are integrated into the in-cab monitor as well as the onboard computer, digital video recorder and other external devices.

Remote operation of vehicles in close-quarter environments

Techniques for remote operation of vehicles are presented. Remote operation can involve maneuvering, by a vehicle computer system, a vehicle based on driving instructions from a remote computer system. The vehicle computer system collects sensor data from a plurality of sensors onboard the vehicle. Based on the sensor data, data associated with a visual representation of the surrounding environment is generated and sent to the remote computer system. The generating of the data can involve fusing sensor data to identify one or more features of a surrounding environment. The generated data may be indicative of the identified features. The visual representation is output on a display device of the remote computer system. The driving instructions can be based on human input supplied in response to the visual representation. In certain embodiments, the vehicle is maneuvered toward a location within proximity of a parking space before performing automated parking.

SYSTEM OF VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH IMAGING EQUIPMENT FOR HIGH-DEFINITION NEAR REAL-TIME MAP GENERATION

Described are street level intelligence platforms, systems, and methods that can include a fleet of swarm vehicles having imaging devices. Images captured by the imaging devices can be used to produce and/or be integrated into maps of the area to produce high-definition maps in near real-time. Such maps may provide enhanced street level intelligence useful for fleet management, navigation, traffic monitoring, and/or so forth.

A camera system is installed on the front end of a vehicle, either on the left front, the right front, or both sides. The camera is linked via wired or wireless connection to an onboard computer and a navigation display that is located within the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The driver reviews a visual description on the display of any oncoming traffic in the form of motor vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, animals and the like on the navigation display via a single screen, split screen or alternating screens. The camera system can include a speed sensor that detects when the vehicle reaches a threshold speed to activate or de-activate the camera. Alternatively, the computer can activate the system when a turn signal is activated, and de-activate the system when the turn signal is no longer activated. This camera system can be retrofitted into older vehicles.

Wireless trailer camera system with tracking feature

A trailering assist system includes a receiving device disposed at an equipped vehicle and a trailer camera at a rear of a trailer. When the vehicle is towing the trailer, the trailer camera captures image data and a transmitter at the trailer wirelessly communicates captured image data to the receiving device at the equipped vehicle. The receiving device at the equipped vehicle receives the communicated image data and a display device in the equipped vehicle displays video images derived from the received image data. When another vehicle is towing the trailer, a controller at the trailer determines that the other vehicle is towing the trailer and the transmitter attempts to wirelessly communicate with another receiving device. Responsive to establishing wireless communication with the other receiving device, the transmitter transmits trailer identification information to the other receiving device.

FULL DISPLAY MIRROR SYSTEM WITH RUGGEDIZED PORTABLE IMAGER

An imaging and display system for a vehicle may comprise a first portable wireless vehicle imager mounted on a trailer and oriented to capture images from a first field of view having a vertical angle greater than the horizontal angle; a second portable wireless vehicle imager mounted one of the vehicle and the trailer and oriented to capture images from a second field of view having a vertical angle greater than the horizontal angle; an image processor for receiving and processing image data from the images captured by the first and the second portable wireless imagers and configured to generate a first supplementary image from a first portion of the first field of view, a second supplementary image from a second portion of the first field of view, and a first additional image from a first portion of the second field of view.

Vehicle auxiliary camera

In one embodiment, an auxiliary camera unit for a vehicle includes an image capture device, a mounting mechanism for attaching the auxiliary camera unit to the vehicle, and a communication device to wirelessly transmit data to the vehicle and receive data from the vehicle. The auxiliary camera unit further includes one or more processors and a memory communicably coupled to the one or more processors and storing: a control module including instructions that when executed by the one or more processors cause the one or more processors to set one or more operational settings for the image capture device based on a position of the auxiliary camera unit relative to the vehicle and cause the communication device to transmit a video feed from the image capture device to the vehicle according to the one or more operational settings.
