TARGETLESS VEHICULAR CAMERA CALIBRATION SYSTEM
A vehicular camera calibration system includes a camera disposed at a vehicle, and an electronic control unit (ECU). The camera calibration system uses structure-from-motion during processing at the ECU of multiple frames of image data captured with the vehicle driven in a normal manner with turns involved. The camera calibration system uses a kinematic model of motion of the vehicle that is derived at least in part from vehicle data provided to the ECU. The camera calibration system, responsive to processing of multiple frames of captured image data, and based at least in part on (i) an intrinsic parameter of the camera and (ii) the kinematic model of motion of the vehicle, determines misalignment of the camera without use of a fiducial marker in a field of view of the camera and without use of reference points on the vehicle.
VEHICULAR TRAILER GUIDANCE SYSTEM
A vehicular trailer guidance system includes an electronic control unit (ECU), a rear backup camera and a trailer camera disposed at a rear portion of a trailer hitched to the vehicle. A display screen is disposed in the vehicle and viewable by a driver of the vehicle. With the trailer hitched to the vehicle, the display screen is operable to display video images derived from image data captured by the trailer camera. At least in part via processing at the ECU of image data captured by the trailer camera, an instruction that aids maneuvering the vehicle in reverse with the trailer hitched thereto during a reversing maneuver of the vehicle and trailer is generated. During the reversing maneuver of the vehicle and trailer, the display screen displays an alert when angling of the trailer relative to the vehicle approaches a jackknife condition.
AROUND VIEW MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR VEHICLES
The present disclosure relates to a method for illustrating the ground underneath a vehicle using an around view monitoring system. The around view monitoring system comprises at least one camera, a processing unit and a display unit. The method comprises taking at least one image on the ground using at least one camera, tracking the position of the ground with respect to the vehicle and visualizing the ground as an under vehicle view and as a function of the vehicle speed, if the vehicle is moved over at least a portion of the ground. An around monitoring system is also provided.
Lane Detection Systems And Methods
Example lane detection systems and methods are described. In one implementation, a method receives an image from a front-facing vehicle camera and applies a geometric transformation to the image to create a birds-eye view of the image. The method analyzes the birds-eye view of the image using a neural network, which was previously trained using side-facing vehicle camera images, to determine a lane position associated with the birds-eye view of the image.

A display control device includes: a reception unit that receives an input for designating a first point on a first image, which is displayed on a display screen provided in a vehicle compartment and shows a peripheral environment of a vehicle at a first timing; a display processing unit that displays a first display object at the first point; a specifying unit that specifies a second point at which a first target, which is located at the first point, is located on a second image, which shows the peripheral environment of the vehicle at a second timing after the first timing; and an update unit that displays, along with the second image, the first display object at the second point on the second image.

An example method includes detecting a potential threat to a vehicle that is external to the vehicle, determining a severity level of the potential threat and a location of the potential threat relative to the vehicle, and displaying an indication of the potential threat on an electronic display in a particular portion of the electronic display corresponding to the location and with a particular display attribute corresponding to the severity level. The particular portion is one of a plurality of different portions of the electronic display each corresponding to different threat locations, and the particular display attribute is one of a plurality of different display attributes corresponding to different severity levels. A corresponding system that detects and displays notifications of potential threats is also disclosed.

A display control device mounted on a vehicle having a parking support function controls a display to display a rear image captured by a rear camera. The display control device acquires the rear image captured by the rear camera; and superimposes, in response to the parking support function being activated, a target image item indicating a target parking position at a predetermined position of the rear image which corresponds to the target parking position. The display control device superimposes at least a part of the target image item in translucent manner on the rear image, and superimpose, on the rear image, an emphasized image item that emphasizes at least four corners of the target image item.

A parking assistance apparatus includes a first sensor configured to sense a first environment corresponding to a first distance around a vehicle; a second sensor configured to sense a second environment corresponding to a second distance around the vehicle that is greater than the first distance; and a display configured to display a graphic image. The parking assistance apparatus also includes at least one processor configured to: acquire first information regarding the first environment around the vehicle and second information regarding the second environment around the vehicle; detect an available parking space based on the first information and based on the second information; and based on an available parking space being detected outside of the first environment, control the display to display information regarding the available parking space.
