ASSISTED PARKING MANEUVERS FOR VEHICLES COUPLED IN A TOWED RECHARGING ARRANGEMENT
Leading and trailing electrified vehicles are coupled together in a towing arrangement for in-flight transfer of an electrical charge between their battery systems. With the vehicles connected by a towing device, a parking maneuver is initiated in which the trailing vehicle leads the leading vehicle. For the parking maneuver, one of the vehicles is designated (e.g., automatically or by driver agreement) to be an active steering vehicle and the other vehicle to be a passive steering vehicle. At least the passive steering vehicle comprises an electrically-controlled steering actuator. During movement, a turning (e.g., steering angle) of the active steering vehicle is monitored. Based on the turning of the active steering vehicle, an assistive steering angle is determined for the passive steering vehicle. The electrically-controlled steering actuator is commanded according to the assistive steering angle. The parking maneuver may be reverse or forward.
Method for calibrating a vehicular vision system
A method for calibrating a vehicular vision system includes disposing a camera at a vehicle, disposing a processor at the vehicle, and disposing a video display screen in the vehicle so as to be viewable by the vehicle driver. The video display screen is operable to display video images derived from image data captured by the imager of the camera. Image data is captured by the imager of the camera and provided to the processor. The video display screen displays video images derived from image data captured by the imager of the camera. The processor generates a graphic overlay for display with the video images at the video display screen. Responsive to processing captured image data, the vehicular vision system is calibrated by adapting an orientation and position of the image data relative to the generated graphic overlay to a corrected orientation and position relative to the generated graphic overlay.
Method and system for assisting drivers in locating objects that may move into their vehicle path
A system and method for assisting drivers of vehicles are described. The systems and methods provide an extended view of the area surrounding the driver's vehicle while providing real-time object trajectory for objects and other vehicles that may enter the driver's reactionary zone. The system and methods capture images of the area surrounding the driver's vehicle and create a composite image of that area in real-time and using Augmented Reality (AR) create a 3-D overlay to warn the driver as objects or other vehicles enter the driver's reactionary zone so that a driver can make more informed driving decisions.

A method for determining a trailer detection parameter of a trailer including receiving an image from at least one camera at a controller. The at least one camera defines a field of view including at least a portion of a vehicle trailer. The method determines a trailer angle of the vehicle trailer relative to a tractor, identifies at least one feature in an image of the trailer, determines a two-dimensional distance from the at least one feature to a predefined position on the image, and converts the two-dimensional distance to a three-dimensional distance based at least in part on the determined angle. The three-dimensional distance is a trailer detection parameter of the trailer.

An enhanced visibility system for a work machine includes an image capture device, a sensor, one or more control circuits, and a display. The image capture device is configured to obtain image data of an area surrounding the work machine. The sensor is configured to obtain data regarding physical properties of the area surrounding the work machine. The control circuits are configured to receive the image data and the data regarding the physical properties, and augment the image data with the data regarding the physical properties to generate augmented image data. The display is configured to display the augmented image data to provide an enhanced view of the area surrounding the work machine.
Work vehicle display systems and methods for generating visually-manipulated context views
A work vehicle display system utilized in piloting a work vehicle includes a display device having a display screen, a context camera mounted to the work vehicle and positioned to capture a context camera feed of the work vehicle's exterior environment, and a controller architecture. The controller architecture is configured to: (i) receive the context camera feed from the context camera; (ii) generate a visually-manipulated context view utilizing the context camera feed; and (iii) output the visually-manipulated context view to the display device for presentation on the display screen. In the process of generating the visually-manipulated context view, the controller architecture applies a dynamic distortion-perspective (D/P) modification effect to the context camera feed, while gradually adjusting a parameter of the dynamic D/P modification effect in response to changes in operator viewing preferences or in response to changes in a current operating condition of the work vehicle.
Driver assistance device
A driver assistance device according to an embodiment includes a coupling angle acquirer that acquires a coupling angle between a towing vehicle and a towed vehicle coupled to the towing vehicle; and a notifier that issues a given notification in the towing vehicle when the towing vehicle is driven with the towing vehicle and the towed vehicle differing in orientation at a given value or more based on the coupling angle, the towing vehicle moves in a given distance or less while maintaining a steering angle, and the steering angle of the towing vehicle enables the towing vehicle and the towed vehicle to be placed in a serial state with the towing vehicle and the towed vehicle substantially matching with each other in orientation.
Vehicular trailer guidance system
A vehicular trailer guidance system includes an electronic control unit (ECU), a plurality of vehicle cameras and at least one trailer camera including a rear trailer camera disposed at a rear portion of a trailer hitched to the vehicle. A display screen is disposed in the vehicle and viewable by a driver of the vehicle. The display screen displays video images derived from captured image data, with the displayed video images including bird's-eye view images of a region at least partially surrounding the vehicle and trailer including an area rearward of the trailer hitched to the vehicle. During a reversing maneuver, and via processing of captured image data, an instruction for maneuvering the vehicle and trailer in reverse toward a target location is generated by the ECU. The generated instruction includes at least an instruction pertaining to steering of the vehicle during the reversing maneuver.
