Authorized Operation of Vehicles
20240336227 · 2024-10-10 · ·

A system for enabling a user to start a vehicle has a SmartFuse with a terminal coupled to vehicle battery voltage and a terminal coupled to a vehicle element to be powered to start the vehicle. The SmartFuse has a microprocessor, a first data repository, a normally open electrical contact in a conductor connected in series with a fuse filament, and first wireless communication circuitry. A smartphone executing a mobile application stores a list of identities of drivers authorized to operate the vehicle. A candidate driver identifies to the mobile application which determines if the candidate driver is on the list. If so, the smartphone signals the first microprocessor in the SmartFuse to close the normally open electrical contact in the SmartFuse, enabling the vehicle to be started.

Methods for shared vehicle access

To utilize a shared vehicle, a user can request access to the vehicle, which results in the generation of a virtual key. The virtual key is provided to a plurality of different devices, such as a vehicle device at the vehicle, and a user device in the possession of the user. Access to the vehicle can be granted and maintained by verification of the virtual key against data from an identification device at the vehicle, or from the user device. In this way, multiple options for vehicle access are available to the user, which increases flexibility and user-friendliness.

Mobile Alert and Security System

A safety alert system for a specific vehicle includes an Internet-connected server executing software, a digital data repository, a profile associated with the specific vehicle and identifying the specific vehicle and comprising contact information for a person, a computerized monitoring apparatus located in the specific vehicle with a two-way Internet connection to the Internet-connected server, global positioning system (GPS) circuitry coupled, a plurality of sensors, sensing both environmental conditions and status of apparatus of the specific vehicle, and reporting to the monitoring apparatus, and at least one set of variable values stored in the digital data repository indicating an alert status. The server keeps a log of reported variable values for the specific vehicle, periodically compares the variable values reported with the at least one set of variable values indicating an alert status, and issues an alert accordingly.

SYSTEM FOR KEYLESS ACTIVATION, ENGAGEMENT, AND MONITORING OF VEHICLES

A system for keyless activation, engagement, and monitoring of vehicles and mobile app system and methods of use via the Internet is provided. The system may include a group of devices having a processor and a data store that are connected to a network. Any one of a first, second, and/or third computing devices may be configured to transmit, receive and process at least one vehicle activation command associated with a first vehicle via a close proximity wireless communication. Additionally, a fourth computing device may be configured to electrically communicate with any of the first, second, and/or third computing device so as to control the first, second, and/or third computing device. An associated method is also provided.

SINGLE BUTTON ACTIVATION OF ALL VEHICLE SECURITY FUNCTIONS

A motor vehicle includes a plurality of security devices and an electronic processor communicatively coupled to each of the security devices. The electronic processor determines that a user of the motor vehicle has depressed a predetermined pushbutton. In response to determining that the predetermined pushbutton has been depressed, the electronic processor causes each if the security devices to be turned ON.

SYSTEM FOR THE AUTOMATIC CONTROL OF THE ACCESS AND/OR ENGINE START AUTHORIZATION OF A USER IN A VEHICLE
20180056937 · 2018-03-01 ·

A system for automatic control of entry and/or motor starting authorization of a user for a vehicle. A control device or a computation device associated with the control device uses at least one statistical computation method to compute a probability of misuse for obtaining an entry and/or motor starting authorization for the vehicle. If the computed probability of misuse reaches or exceeds a prescribable threshold value, a control signal at least for unlocking the vehicle doors and/or for enabling of the motor control device is/are stopped or produced by the control device only if at least one additional authentication criterion has been satisfied; and/or the system for control of entry and/or motor starting authorization is deactivated if it is established that the vehicle is parking in an environment where the probability of future misuse of the electronic key reaches or exceeds a prescribable threshold value.

Method of proximity detection between two devices
