METHOD FOR CLEANING A PROTECTIVE DEVICE FOR A DRIVE ASSIST SYSTEM FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE AND ASSOCIATED DRIVE ASSIST SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a method for cleaning a protective device (3) for a drive assist system (1), comprising an optical sensor (13) having an optic (14), the protective device (3) having an optical element (9) arranged upstream of the optic (14) and having an inner surface (9a) and an outer surface (9b) and being movably mounted about an axis of rotation (A1), the method comprising the following steps: processing a succession of images acquired by the optical sensor (13) when the optical element (9) is rotating, so as to detect a generally circular or semi-circular shape which is centred on the axis of rotation (A1) of the optical element (9) and which is generated by dirt deposited on the outer surface (9b), and triggering at least one action for cleaning the outer surface (9b) of the optical element (9) if the shape is detected. The invention also relates to an associated drive assist system (1).

The sensor protection device includes a protector that is disposed to face the environmental sensor and configured to be movable with respect to the environmental sensor and includes a movement mechanism configured to provide power to the protector. The movement mechanism has a structure to move the protector.

A foreign substance detection system is disclosed to detect whether foreign substances are attached to an environmental sensor of a vehicle. The foreign substance detection system includes a detection loop through which current selectively flows. In particular, the detection loop includes a controller configured to operatively control a sensor cleaning system configured to clean an environmental sensor of a vehicle, and a power supply unit configured to continuously supply electric power to the controller. The environmental sensor includes a detection device configured to open or close the detection loop on the basis of whether a fluid or a foreign substance is attached.
FOREIGN SUBSTANCE DETECTION SYSTEM
A foreign substance detection system is disclosed to detect whether foreign substances are attached to an environmental sensor of a vehicle. The foreign substance detection system includes a detection loop through which current selectively flows. In particular, the detection loop includes a controller configured to operatively control a sensor cleaning system configured to clean an environmental sensor of a vehicle, and a power supply unit configured to continuously supply electric power to the controller. The environmental sensor includes a detection device configured to open or close the detection loop on the basis of whether a fluid or a foreign substance is attached.
Vehicle wiper device
A vehicle wiper device includes a wiper arm, a wiper blade, a nozzle body, a hose, and a cleaning fluid supply section. A leading end side portion of the wiper arm is configured by an arm piece, and the wiper arm swings back and forth. The nozzle body is attached to the arm piece, is disposed on an outward movement side of the wiper blade, and jets cleaning fluid toward a windshield. The hose conveys cleaning fluid under pressure. The cleaning fluid supply section is at an opposite side of a rubber holder from the windshield, extends from the nozzle body so as to extend across the rubber holder from the outward movement side toward a return movement side of the wiper blade, is connected to the hose, and supplies cleaning fluid to the nozzle body.
Vehicle wiper device
A vehicle wiper device includes a wiper arm, a wiper blade, a nozzle body, a hose, and a cleaning fluid supply section. A leading end side portion of the wiper arm is configured by an arm piece, and the wiper arm swings back and forth. The nozzle body is attached to the arm piece, is disposed on an outward movement side of the wiper blade, and jets cleaning fluid toward a windshield. The hose conveys cleaning fluid under pressure. The cleaning fluid supply section is at an opposite side of a rubber holder from the windshield, extends from the nozzle body so as to extend across the rubber holder from the outward movement side toward a return movement side of the wiper blade, is connected to the hose, and supplies cleaning fluid to the nozzle body.

Assembly for the production of a wiping system (1), comprising a terminal part (4) of a wiper arm (3) designed to move a wiper blade (2), and a connecting interface (5) for conveying a liquid to the wiper blade (2), said assembly further comprising one sliding element (6) having a first position for locking a connecting device of the wiper blade (2) on said terminal part (4), and a second position enabling the terminal part (4) and the connecting device to be separated, said sliding element (6) being further able to hang said connecting interface (5) either on the connecting device in the first position or on the terminal part (4) in the second position.
ENHANCED SENSOR CLEANING VALIDATION
Devices, systems, and methods are provided for enhanced sensor cleaning validation. A device may determine a baseline performance measurement associated with a clean performance baseline of a sensor. The device may actuate a cleaning mechanism to remove at least a portion of an obstruction deposited on the sensor. The device may determine a first post-clean performance measurement associated with the sensor. The device may determine a degradation measurement between the baseline performance measurement and the first post-clean performance measurement, wherein the degradation measurement indicates an effectiveness of the cleaning mechanism.
