Devices, systems, and methods are provided for enhanced sensor cleaning validation. A device may receive a signal from a sensor indicative of an obstruction on the sensor. The device may activate a cleaning system at a degree of actuation responsive to the obstruction. The device may then obtain a first post-clean performance measurement of the sensor. The device may then adjust the degree of actuation of the cleaning system based on a degradation measurement between a baseline performance measurement associated with a clean performance baseline of the sensor and the first post-clean performance measurement.

The device may activate a cleaning system at a degree of actuation responsive to the obstruction. The device may then obtain a first post-clean performance measurement of the sensor. The device may then adjust the degree of actuation of the cleaning system based on a degradation measurement between a baseline performance measurement associated with a clean performance baseline of the sensor and the first post-clean performance measurement.
Vehicle wiper device
In a vehicle wiper apparatus, rotation of an output shaft of a wiper motor is converted to reciprocal rotation of a pivot shaft, and a wiper member, attached to the pivot shaft, reciprocally rotates between closed and open positions. A nozzle, provided in the wiper member, sprays a cleaning fluid towards a front side in an advancing direction of the wiper member on at least one of forward and return paths of the reciprocal rotation. A washer pump supplies the cleaning fluid to the nozzle. A round-trip time of the wiper member is detected based on a detection result of a detecting unit that detects at least a state in which the wiper member is positioned in the closed position. The washer pump is controlled based on a detected round-trip time, and is operated during rotation of the wiper member on at least one of the forward and return paths.
Vehicle wiper device
In a vehicle wiper apparatus, rotation of an output shaft of a wiper motor is converted to reciprocal rotation of a pivot shaft, and a wiper member, attached to the pivot shaft, reciprocally rotates between closed and open positions. A vehicle windshield wiper and washer activation system that allows the control of these devices from outside the vehicle. A remote switch or switches is provided at a convenient location, such as the side of the fender or in front of the grill. An optional wireless connection may also be provided. In the wireless embodiment, a separate actuating device such as a dedicated transmitter or smartphone is used to control the wipers and the delivery of washer fluid.

An example contaminant detection system includes an optical coupler configured to couple light into and/or out of an optical element. The contaminant detection system also includes a plurality of light-emitter devices configured to emit emission light toward the optical coupler. The contaminant detection system additionally includes a plurality of detector devices configured to detect at least a portion of the emission light by way of the optical element and the optical coupler. The plurality of detector devices is also configured to provide detector signals indicative of a presence of a contaminant on the optical element.

The device may determine a degradation measurement between the baseline performance measurement and the first post-clean performance measurement, wherein the degradation measurement indicates an effectiveness of the cleaning mechanism.
