Reservoir purge valve

A valve having an inlet, exhaust, control port, and diaphragm. The diaphragm moves between an open position, in which the inlet and exhaust are in fluid communication, and a closed position, in which the diaphragm blocks fluid from flowing between the inlet and the exhaust. The diaphragm moves from the closed position to the open position when an inlet force due to pressure at the inlet is greater than the sum of the biasing force and a control port force due to pressure at the control port. The valve is operable to automatically drain contaminants from a vehicle air reservoir when the vehicle's emergency brakes are set. To reduce noise, the diaphragm of the valve is preferably in tension when in the closed position, and/or the diaphragm opens a limited distance when in the open position so that a back pressure is generated at the inlet.

Method and device for controlling an air dryer unit of an air supply system for primary and auxiliary air supply, in particular for a rail vehicle

A method and device control at least one air dryer unit of an air supply system for the primary and auxiliary air supply of a vehicle. In the method and device, at least one compressor is driven by an associated electric motor that serves both for the primary air supply of a primary air tank and for the auxiliary air supply of an auxiliary air tank. Compressed air generated by the compressor is channeled over the at least one downstream air dryer unit so as to dry the compressed air generated by the compressor while the drying agent of the air dryer is regenerated with dried compressed air. During the auxiliary air supply, the air flow used for regenerating the at least one air dryer unit is reduced or suppressed.

AN AIR PROCESSING ASSEMBLY COMPRISING A PTFE BASED OLEOPHOBIC MEMBRANE AND METHOD FOR DRYING COMPRESSED AIR FOR A VEHICLE

An air processing assembly for a vehicle includes a filter element comprising a PTFE based oleophobic membrane.

Solenoid valve for brake system

The solenoid valve according to the embodiment of the present disclosure includes a filter member accommodated in a bore of a modulator block, a valve seat including an orifice, and a plunger configured to open and close the orifice, wherein the boss in which a connecting path is formed is inserted into the valve seat located at a center of the filter member, a plunger valve configured to be vertically moved due to a pressure of supplied oil and including a vertical hole formed to pass through a center of the plunger valve is disposed below the connecting path, and a plunger valve seat having a diameter greater than that of the connecting path is provided at a lower portion of the connecting path to selectively come into contact with an outer surface of the plunger valve when the plunger valve is moved upward.

Effluent Processing Apparatus for a Vehicle Air Brake Charging System

An effluent processing apparatus comprises a separator device arranged to receive an effluent mixture to separate oil and water from the effluent mixture and thereby to provide clean air. A member selectively allows either only oil or only water of the separated oil and water to pass from a first side of the member through openings in the member to a second side of the member. A sump is arranged to (i) receive and retain the oil on the first side if only water passes from the first side to the second side, and (ii) receive and retain the oil on the second side if only oil passes from the first side to the second side. Clean air from the separator device is exhausted through an air outlet to atmosphere, and water is drained through a water outlet to atmosphere.

AIR SUPPLY UNIT FOR A PNEUMATIC SYSTEM OF A COMMERCIAL VEHICLE

An air supply unit for a pneumatic system is provided herein. The unit includes a compressor inlet for receiving compressed air in a supply mode. The unit further includes a consumption outlet for connecting at least one consumption circuit. The unit further includes an air processing unit connected to the compressor inlet for drying and filtering the compressed air and delivering dried compressed air at its outlet. The unit further includes a supply line extending from the outlet to the consumption outlet. The unit further includes a purge tank connected to the supply line. The purge tank is connected to the supply line through a throttle for pressure reduction of the purge air. In order to realize a short filling time, the purge tank is further connected to the supply line by a filling valve. The filling valve is open in the supply mode and blocking in the purge mode.

Screw Compressor for a Utility Vehicle

A compressor system for an utility vehicle includes at least one compressor, at least one electric motor which drives the compressor, at least one electric motor control unit and at least one air treatment device. The electric motor control unit is designed and configured in such a way that it controls the electric motor and at least partly the air treatment device.

Compressed-air drying device, method for controlling compressed-air drying device, and vehicle

A compressed air drying device that dries compressed air discharged from a compressor includes a dryer and a controller. The dryer includes a drying container, which is filled with a desiccant, and a discharge valve arranged in a discharge port that discharges drainage produced by regeneration of the desiccant. The controller obtains an ambient temperature and controls opening and closing of the discharge valve. When the ambient temperature is a temperature at which freezing occurs, the controller moves the compressed air, which is discharged from the compressor and heated, into the dryer and restricts opening of the discharge valve.

An effluent processing apparatus comprises a first processing stage in which oil and water are separated from an effluent mixture containing air, oil, and water from a purge valve of an air dryer. The effluent processing apparatus also comprises a second processing stage in which oil is extracted from the separated oil and water of the first processing stage. The effluent processing apparatus further comprises a third processing stage in which air from the first processing stage and water from the second processing stage are combined and exhausted to atmosphere.

METHOD OF CONTROLLING AIR DRYER USING COMPRESSED AIR AND HEATERLESS AIR DRYER THEREOF

An air dryer control method may include a cold mode in which a controller performs a winter season condition control in which air temperature is lowered to freezing temperature if an engine starting is detected, and performs a winter season thawing control in which compressed air introduced into a valve control of an air dryer warms a purge valve of the air dryer.
