DRYER APPARATUS AND AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM
An air suspension system includes an air suspension, a compressor, a dryer apparatus, and so forth. The dryer apparatus includes a dryer case, an inner cylinder, a first inlet port, a first outlet port, a first desiccant, an outer cylinder, a second inlet port, a second outlet port, a second other-end side filter, a second desiccant, and so forth. The first desiccant comprises a molecular sieve, for example, which exhibits high water adsorption performance at high temperature. On the other hand, the second desiccant comprises silica gel, for example, which exhibits high water adsorption performance at low temperature.
ABSORBENT APPARATUS FOR AN AIR DRYER PURGE AIR CLEANER AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME
An absorbent apparatus is provided for an air dryer purge air cleaner. The absorbent apparatus comprises a volume for containing absorbent material. The absorbent apparatus also comprises absorbent material that is both oleophilic and hydrophobic and is packed in the volume to provide a packed bed of absorbent material with a predetermined packing density.
Air braking system
An air braking system for a vehicle can include an air compressor, a reservoir, a first air line, a brake hub, a second air line, a control valve, a release valve, and a third fluid line. The first line can place an outlet of the compressor in fluid communication with an inlet of the reservoir. The brake hub can have a chamber in fluid communication with the outlet of the reservoir via the second line. The control valve can selectively open and close the second air line. The release valve can be in fluid communication with the chamber and having an outlet. The third line can place the outlet of the release valve in fluid communication with an inlet of the compressor.
Oil separator
An oil separator causes air containing oil to strike an impingement member to separate the oil from the air and recover the oil. The oil separator includes a body having an inlet for introducing air and an outlet for discharging air. The oil separator further includes a cartridge that is assembled to the body and accommodates the impingement member. The oil separator further includes a drain bowl for storing the separated oil. The oil separator further includes an assembling structure. The body and the cartridge are assembled through one or two actions by using the assembling structure.
Device and method for drying air, as well as a rail vehicle comprising such a device
An arrangement for drying air, particularly for a compressed air installation of a rail vehicle, includes an air dryer that receives air that is to be dried, via an air dryer inlet. In order to optimize the arrangement with regard to external conditions prevailing in the region of a rail bound transportation route to be travelled, an air conditioning installation is provided that supplies air to an air conditioning installation outlet, the air dryer inlet being connected, by way of an air channel particularly designed as an air conduit, to the air conditioning installation outlet such that at least one portion of the air supplied from the air conditioning installation forms the air that is to be dried. The invention also relates to a rail vehicle that includes such an arrangement, and also to a method for drying air.
MOISTURE EXTRACTION ASSEMBLY HAVING A CELLULAR STRUCTURE WITH INTERCONNECTED CELLS
The invention provides a moisture extraction assembly for removing moisture from compressed air. The assembly is formed of two or more unitary bodies which assemble in facing relationship to define a cellular network structure of variously connected cells which collectively define one or more air flow paths extending between at least one inlet and at least one outlet.
COMBINED OIL AND WATER SEPARATOR IN AN AIR BRAKE DRYER
A filter assembly for separating and removing a liquid from a compressed fluid stream includes a filter element for separating the liquid from the fluid, a purge valve, and an elongated valve operator for actuating the purge valve. The top of the filter element has a shroud that decreases the flow area of the entering fluid stream to induce a vortex of the fluid, allowing the liquid to separate from the fluid. The purge valve is located at the bottom of the filter element for draining the separated liquid. The elongated valve operator axially extends through the filter element and is moveable by an actuating piston located at the top of the filter element, in response to elevated pressure in the filter assembly. The filtered air is dried through a desiccant body and then outputted from the filter assembly to be used in an air brake system.
EFFLUENT PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR A VEHICLE AIR BRAKE CHARGING SYSTEM
An effluent processing apparatus is provided for a vehicle air brake charging system. The effluent processing apparatus comprises an inlet port through which effluent from a purge valve of an air dryer can be received and an outlet port. The effluent processing apparatus also comprises a spiral-shaped effluent channel having a portion of decreasing channel width disposed between the inlet port and the outlet port. The spiral-shaped effluent channel is provided for increasing velocity of an effluent stream as the effluent stream flows through the decreasing channel width portion of the spiral-shaped effluent channel.
EFFLUENT PROCESSING APPARATUS FOR A VEHICLE AIR BRAKE CHARGING SYSTEM
An effluent processing apparatus is provided for a vehicle air brake charging system. The effluent processing apparatus comprises an inlet port through which effluent from a purge valve of an air dryer can be received and an outlet port. The effluent processing apparatus further comprises a quadric surface defining an effluent flow chamber that is connected in fluid communication between the inlet port and the outlet port. The quadric surface is provided for extracting contaminants from an effluent stream as the effluent stream flows from the inlet port along the quadric surface to the outlet port.
System for the diagnosis and monitoring of air supply systems and components thereof
A system diagnoses and monitors air supply systems and includes a compressor with a drive, which is configured to provide pressurized air for the system, an air dryer, which is configured to remove moisture from the compressed air in the system, at least two sensors, wherein one sensor is configured and arranged to detect a status signal of a component to be monitored, and another sensor is configured and arranged to detect a reference signal relating to the component to be monitored, and an evaluation unit which is configured to evaluate the signals of the sensors. The evaluation unit is also configured to convert the sensor signals into maintenance and control signals based on an evaluation logic, which signals control the operating mode and the maintenance intervals of the air supply system.
