A method for displaying archived exercise classes comprising displaying information about archived exercise classes that can be accessed by a first user via a computer network on a display screen at a first location, wherein the first user can select among a plurality of archived classes, outputting digital video and audio content comprising the selected archived class, detecting a performance parameter for the first user at a particular point in the selected class, displaying the performance parameter on the display screen, and displaying performance parameters from a second user at a second location on the display screen such that at least one of the performance parameters from the first user and at least one of the performance parameters from the second user at the same point in the class are presented for comparison.
METHOD OF ENCOURAGING EXERCISE AND EXERCISE MACHINE APPLYING METHOD
A method of encouraging exercise collects motion data of a user of a type of exercise machine. It is determined whether the user is in a good state according to the motion data. If the user is deemed in a good state, the motion data are sent to a cloud server. Ranking information of multiple users on same type of exercise machine are received from the cloud server. The ranking information is displayed on a touch screen of the exercise machine. The method realizes interaction of the user on a virtual reality basis, and improves exercise motivation of the user.
ALTERNATE REALITY SYSTEM FOR A BALL SPORT
An alternate reality training system for tennis is operationally coupled to a head assembly, a stand assembly, and a vertical polymer flexible rod assembly connecting the substantially polymer head assembly to the stand assembly. The vertical polymer flexible rod assembly oscillates when a ball member held in the head assembly is hit by a racket. An alternate reality software system is adapted to synchronize with oscillations to present substantially simultaneous cues for hitting a physical ball member coupled to the head member and convert associated data to a virtual ball member adapted to visually present data from hitting the physical ball member and associated user data. Data includes variables of power, accuracy, timing, trajectory, spin, and impact sweet spot from which to calculate virtual ball flight.

Generating a video workout program. In one aspect of the disclosure, a method may include capturing a first video that includes a depiction of a trainer performing a workout, combining the depiction of the trainer in the first video with a second video that moves through an environment to form a combined video in which the trainer appears to move through the environment; and encoding exercise machine control commands into a subtitle stream of the combined video to create the video workout program, execution of the video workout program on a first exercise machine configured to display the combined video and continually control one or more moveable members of the first exercise machine according to the exercise machine control commands.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR VIRTUAL COMPETITION
A system configured to be coupled with a participant of an activity. The system comprises: a participant activity monitoring unit configured for monitoring a performance of the activity by the participant; an activity information module configured for storing performance information corresponding to the activity; and a participant performance correlator configured for delivering comparative performance data based on the monitored performance of the activity by the participant and the stored performance information.

Apparatus and method for increased realism of training on exercise machines
An exercise machine includes a cyclical actuator and a mechanical energy storage device. Connective structure operatively connects the cyclical actuator to the mechanical energy storage device. Motion of the cyclical actuator urges physical motion of and energy storage in the mechanical energy storage device. The exercise machine further includes an electric machine. A communication pathway enables exchange of data between multiple associated exercise machines such that multiple associated operators on multiple associated exercise machines have a common experience.
Exercise machine controls
A method includes receiving electronic content via a network, the electronic content comprising an exercise class, and receiving user data associated with a user participating in the exercise class using an exercise machine. The method also includes generating an executable control for a user interface based at least in part on the user data, and providing the executable control, via a display of the exercise machine, while the user is participating in the exercise class. In such a method, the executable control is operable to modify a parameter of the exercise machine while the user is participating in the exercise class.
