Interactive Athletic Equipment System
Systems and techniques for the collection and display of athletic information. Athletic data relating to a single person or group of people is collected at a central location, and subsequently displayed at a desired remote location so that the person or people can review and critique their performance. In addition, athletic data for multiple persons can be collected at a central location, and subsequently displayed to a user at a desired remote location, so that the user can compare his or her athletic activities to others.
Method and system for measuring physical parameters in a trampoline competition
For the method and system (1) for measuring physical parameters, several motion sensor assemblies (2) are arranged in different positions on a trampoline (10) and activated to measure any motion over time during jumps performed by a competitor on a trampoline. Following the processing of measurements made in each sensor assembly, data signals are transmitted to a base station (25). As a result of the various measurements received over time from each sensor assembly, the base station determines a time of flight for each of the competitor's jumps, and a position of contact of the competitor on the bed (21) to award points to the competitor for the performance of a determined number of jumps during the competition.
EXERCISE SYSTEM AND METHOD
An exercise machine includes a processor, a first display, a deck, and a belt rotatable about the deck. The machine also includes a sensor operably connected to the processor and configured to detect a first performance parameter of a first user running on the belt of the exercise machine. The processor is configured to receive information indicative of a second performance parameter of a second user, the second performance parameter being detected at an additional exercise machine during display of the at least part of the exercise class on a display associated with the additional exercise machine. The processor is also configured to cause the second performance parameter to be displayed on the first display together with the first performance parameter.
EXERCISE MACHINE WITH POWER-CONTROLLED TRAINING MODE AND METHOD THEREOF
An exercise machine is configured to have a power-controlled training mode. The exercise machine is configured to vary a percentage of a parameter representative of the athletic preparation of a user. The exercise machine is also configured to perform the power control by following a power target value delivered by the user during the physical activity, the target value being determined based on a percentage of the parameter representative of the athletic preparation of a user.
Exercise device
A multipurpose exercise device having a base that rests on a support surface and a user platform upon which the user stands. The lower end of a perpendicular support post is mounted to the base to axially pivot thereon and the upper end of the post is pivotally mounted to the lower surface of the user platform. The user platform pivots with the support post in a horizontal plane parallel to the support surface and pivots on the support post in a vertical plane perpendicular to the horizontal support surface. Resistance elements are provided having one end mounted to the support post and the other end mounted to the base to control the velocity and angle of pivot of the user platform in the horizontal plane. Preferably, a plurality of resistance elements are provided having one end mounted to the base and the other end mounted to the user platform to control the velocity and angle of pivot of the user platform in the vertical plane. In use, the user stands on the user platform and performs exercise motions to propel the user platform to pivot in the horizontal plane and the vertical plane.
Elliptical exercise machine
An elliptical exercise machine may include a base, one or more upright stanchions coupled to the base and extending upward from the base and supporting first and second cranks. The first crank may support a first crank arm. The first crank arm may support a first pedal leg hanging downward from the first crank arm. The first pedal leg may support a right pedal. The right pedal may be configured to swing forward and rearward and to raise upward and lower downward. The second crank may support a second crank arm. The second crank arm may support a second pedal leg hanging downward from the second crank arm. The second pedal leg may support a left pedal. The left pedal may be configured to swing forward and rearward and to raise upward and lower downward.
SMART SYSTEM FOR DISPLAY OF DYNAMIC MOVEMENT PARAMETERS IN SPORT AND TRAINING
This invention relates to a system that interconnects real golf or other sports equipment to a computer. From hereon, sports apparatus, sports equipment, sports equipment items, are examples of a gaming apparatus, unit, tool, or item, and the latter should be understood to be included in the former. In a preferred embodiment the computer is coupled wirelessly to sports implement component, in one embodiment, the sporting equipment is a race car steering wheel coupled with a driver's hand, boxing gloves coupled with a fist, tennis racquet, couple with a tennis ball, basketball coupled with a shooting hand, football couple with a throwing hand, bicycle coupled with a pedal, bowling ball coupled with a bowling throw, soccer couple with a kick, volleyball coupled with a hitting hand, baseball bat coupled with a baseball, all using sensors including accelerometers, gyroscopes and a compass and or a combination of multiple sensing devices.
LEADERBOARD WITH IRREGULARITY FLAGS IN AN EXERCISE MACHINE SYSTEM
Leaderboard with irregularity flags in an exercise machine system. In one aspect of the disclosure, a method may include executing a video workout program on first and second exercise machines, monitoring first and second performance parameters of first and second users during the execution of the video workout program, displaying a leaderboard which displays and ranks first and second performance indicators of the first and second users based on the first and second performance parameters, detecting an irregularity in the first performance parameters of the first user, and updating the leaderboard to display an irregularity flag associated with the first performance indicator of the first user to indicate the irregularity in the performance of the first user during the workout.
Performance monitoring systems and methods
Systems and methods for electronically providing fitness activity feedback to a user are disclosed. The method may include collecting performance data, generating comparison data by comparing the respective performance and including identifying comparison performance data representative of performance differences, and displaying the comparison data and the comparison performance data.
Smart system for display of dynamic movement parameters in sports and training
A system that wirelessly integrates actual game equipment with a computer and the internet to allow players remotely located from one another to play a competitive real or simulated game of golf. An individual player may opt to play solo or practice to improve basic golfing techniques. The system includes smart golf clubs, a golf ball receptacle, and a golf club motion sensing devices, all containing circuits, contact and or noncontact motion sensors coupled with signal processing and radio frequency transmitter circuitry to wirelessly communicate game performance information to a remote receiver-computer. The computer displays player information and visually simulates and controls a game between one or more local players or via the internet having similar equipment and remotely located from each other. Standard golf clubs may be retrofitted with the sensors and associated circuitry to convert such clubs into smart clubs for use with the system. The system employs specially developed computer software to process player performance data, control game play, communicate game information between players, generate and control visual simulations, and display player performance information and dynamic motion parameters.
