WORK MACHINE
A work machine comprising a work unit that performs work on a travel path, an internal combustion engine configured to generate power for driving the work unit, a traveling unit including a front wheel and a rear wheel, an electric motor configured to generate power for driving a first wheel of the front wheel and the rear wheel, a first clutch for switching between transmission and discontinuation of the power from the internal combustion engine to a second wheel of the front wheel and the rear wheel, and a switching control unit configured to control the first clutch based on a power consumption of the electric motor for switching between the transmission and the discontinuation.
Park brake and traction drive bypass interlock
Methods and apparatus for a lawn maintenance vehicle park brake and traction drive interlock are provided. A park brake mechanism is selectively operable between an engaged position and a disengaged position. A traction drive is also mounted to the lawn maintenance vehicle, the traction drive having a disable mode which prohibits transmission of a driving force from the traction drive to a drive wheel. A first operable connection between the park brake mechanism and a wheel brake activates the wheel brake. A second operable connection between the park brake mechanism and the traction drive activates the disable mode of the traction drive. A method of controlling a lawn maintenance vehicle with a park brake and traction drive interlock include the steps of providing a lawn maintenance vehicle, providing an operable park brake mechanism, providing a first operable connection, and providing a second operable connection.
Electric travelling vehicle and grass mower
An electric travelling vehicle including: a motor controller configured to control an electric motor based on displacement of a steering operation part to a forward travel position, a neutral position, and a rearward travel position, a brake controller configured to bring an electromagnetic power-off brake into a released state or a braking state; and a travel state detector configured to detect a travelling state that is accompanied with the released state, a stopped state that is accompanied with the braking state, and a transit stopped state that is accompanied with the braking state.
Active steering system and grounds maintenance vehicle including same
A small radius- or zero radius-turn vehicle that may be steered by differentially-driven rear drive wheels and by at least one electronically-controlled, steerable front wheel. A device, e.g., one or more levers, may be provided that controls both speed and direction of the drive wheels. A sensor may be provided that detects a position of the lever(s). A controller may calculate a steering angle of the front wheel based upon the position, and issue a command to an actuator associated with the front wheel. The actuator may rotate the front wheel to an electronically calculated steering angle in response to the command.
Open-cabin riding mower
An open-cabin riding mower includes a haptic feedback device incorporated in at least one of a driver's seat, a footrest and a maneuvering operational tool which are contact with the driver's body in the course of traveling and configured to provide a physical stimulus to the driver, a condition evaluation unit for evaluating a condition related to traveling of the mower and a device control section for controlling an operational pattern of the haptic feedback device based on result of the evaluation by the condition evaluation unit.
RIDING LAWN EQUIPMENT ENGINE SPEED CONTROL MODULE
A riding lawn equipment engine speed control module has user actuated buttons that may be used to select from a plurality of operating modes, each mode having a different non-overlapping range of engine speeds; specify an engine speed within each mode; and continuously increase or decrease engine speed within each mode.
Traveling Vehicle
A traveling vehicle includes a pair of left and right driving wheels, a pair of left and right motors capable of driving the pair of left and right driving wheels independently of each other, an operational amount reception section capable of receiving operational amounts respectively for the pair of left and right motors, a setting section capable of setting a period of a first control method having a predetermined first control parameter and a period of a second control method having a predetermined second control parameter, within a predetermined control cycle for controlling driving of the motors, in accordance with the operational amounts and a motor driving section capable of driving the respective motors based on result of setting made by the setting section.
Work Vehicle
A work vehicle includes a driving wheel provided in a machine body, a motor for inputting a rotational force to the driving wheel, a traveling control device for acquiring an output instruction for the motor according to an operation of a maneuvering lever, a traveling control unit for controlling driving of the motor in accordance with the output instruction, a battery for reserving energy source for driving the motor, a remaining amount detection section for detecting a remaining amount of the energy source in the battery, and a restriction section for restricting a maximum speed of the machine body to a preset speed irrespectively of the output instruction if the remaining amount of the energy source is equal to or smaller than a preset first threshold value.
System and method for proximity-based control of outdoor power machines
An outdoor power machine proximity-based control system includes: a controller operably connected to an outdoor power machine, the controller being configured to control a pre-determined function of the outdoor power machine in response to a triggering event, the controller including a communications device configured to receive a signal indicative of a location of an object relative to the outdoor power machine, wherein in response to the received signal, the controller compares the location of the object to a pre-determined threshold and in response to the comparison causes an action to prevent interaction between the outdoor power machine and the object.
HYBRID POWERED MOWER WITH GANGED REEL CUTTING UNITS, AUTOMATIC CLIP CONTROL, GENERATOR POWER OUTPUT CONTROL, REGENERATIVE BRAKING ABSORPTION, AND AUTOMATIC MAXIMUM GROUND SPEED REDUCTIONS DURING TURNS
A gang reel mower has a hybrid engine, generator and battery pack electric power system driving a pair of electric wheel motors for propelling the mower and for driving individual reel motors for powering a plurality of reel cutting units. A master controller is programmable with a selected clip and maintains the selected clip whether the mower travels straight ahead or is turning. The output power of the generator is damped and is gradually increased during high electrical loads to prevent step responses in the engine and thereby limit engine droop. During regenerative braking of the mower, the generator can be driven as a motor to use the engine as a load. This limits the voltage produced by the traction motors during regenerative braking from damaging the electrical system or overcharging the battery pack. Moreover, maximum transport and mowing ground speeds are automatically reduced during some turns of the mower.
