The disclosure relates to a method for generating a reference trajectory within a lane for a vehicle. The method comprises receiving at least one vehicle current state parameter describing a current state of the vehicle (S11). The current state of the vehicle comprises at least a current position of the vehicle. Furthermore, a destination parameter describing a destination to be reached by the vehicle (S12), and at least one route parameter describing a route for reaching the destination (S13) are received. The reference trajectory within the lane is determined such that it minimizes the power loss and leads to the destination (S15). Additionally, a method for operating a vehicle is presented. According to this method, a reference trajectory is generated in accordance with the above method (S21) and at least one control signal is provided for controlling a motion of the vehicle along the reference trajectory (S22). Furthermore, a data processing apparatus, a vehicle and a computer-readable medium are presented.
Route risk mitigation
A method is disclosed for analyzing historical accident information to adjust driving actions of an autonomous vehicle over a travel route in order to avoid accidents which have occurred over the travel route. Historical accident information for the travel route can be analyzed to, for example, determine accident types which occurred over the travel route and determine causes and/or probable causes of the accident types. In response to determining accident types and causes/probable causes of the accident types over the travel route, adjustments can be made to the driving actions planned for the autonomous vehicle over the travel route. In addition, in an embodiment, historical accident information can be used to analyze available travel routes and select a route which presents less risk of accident than others.

The processor is configured to, when an abnormality occurs in or around at least one first autonomous driving vehicle among the plurality of autonomous driving vehicles, determine a travel instruction for controlling traveling of the first autonomous driving vehicle, transmit the travel instruction to the first autonomous driving vehicle via the communication unit, set a priority representing the degree of the priority in which an instruction operator is notified of the travel instruction in the order determined according to the content of the abnormality, notify any one of at least one instruction terminal of the determined travel instruction in the order of highest priority, and receive a result of checking the determined travel instruction from the instruction terminal.
Systems and methods for navigating a vehicle among encroaching vehicles
Systems and methods use cameras to provide autonomous navigation features. In one implementation, a method for navigating a user vehicle may include acquiring, using at least one image capture device, a plurality of images of an area in a vicinity of the user vehicle; determining from the plurality of images a first lane constraint on a first side of the user vehicle and a second lane constraint on a second side of the user vehicle opposite to the first side of the user vehicle; enabling the user vehicle to pass a target vehicle if the target vehicle is determined to be in a lane different from the lane in which the user vehicle is traveling; and causing the user vehicle to abort the pass before completion of the pass, if the target vehicle is determined to be entering the lane in which the user vehicle is traveling.
Vehicle control apparatus
A vehicle control apparatus includes a condition determining unit, a mode switching controller, and a notification controller. The condition determining unit is configured to determine whether enabling conditions set to enable a switching control to an engine stop mode are satisfied. The engine stop mode stops an engine of a vehicle in a driving state. The mode switching controller is configured to perform the switching control to the engine stop mode in response to that the condition determining unit determines that the enabling conditions are satisfied. The notification controller is configured to compare a measured time value and a threshold both related to the enabling condition which the condition determining unit determines as not being satisfied. The notification controller is configured to perform, in response to that the measured time value exceeds the threshold, a control of making notification that the switching control is in a disabled state.
Control device and computer readable storage medium
A control device is provided, which includes: a destination determining unit configured to determine a destination of a hybrid vehicle that includes an engine, a motor and a battery and is able to supply waste heat from the engine to the battery; a arrival judging unit configured to judge whether the hybrid vehicle can arrive at the destination with a remaining capacity of the battery based on the remaining capacity and a temperature of the battery; and a vehicle control unit configured to control the hybrid vehicle to start the engine and supply the waste heat from the engine to the battery when the arrival judging unit judges that the hybrid vehicle cannot arrive at the destination.
MPC-Based Autonomous Drive Function of a Motor Vehicle
A processor unit is configured for determining target torque values (21), which lie within a prediction horizon (20), and target speed values (19), which lie within the prediction horizon (20), by executing an MPC algorithm, which includes a longitudinal dynamics model of a drive train of the motor vehicle. An autonomous driving function of the motor vehicle is carried out in a torque specification operating mode or in a speed specification operating mode as a function of the level of the target torque values (21). In the torque specification operating mode, a prime mover of the drive train is controlled by an open-loop system based on the target torque values (21). In the speed specification operating mode, a speed governor of the drive train is controlled by an open-loop system based on the target speed values (19).
