Hybrid vehicle drive system and method and idle reduction system and method
One embodiment relates to a hybrid vehicle drive system for a vehicle including a first prime mover, a first prime mover driven transmission, a rechargeable power source, and a PTO. The hybrid vehicle drive system can include a control system for reducing or eliminating regenerative braking during a traction control or anti-lock braking event.
AXLE ASSEMBLY FOR FRAME RAIL VEHICLES
An axle assembly for frame rail vehicles is described herein. The axle assembly also includes a drive unit housing that includes an interior cavity enclosing first and second electric machines, a common gear reduction, a differential gear set, and a speed change mechanism with the first and second axle shafts partially disposed within the interior cavity and extending out of the drive unit housing. The drive unit housing includes a central cavity, a lower cavity, a first machine cavity, and a second machine cavity. The central cavity includes the common gear reduction and the axis of rotation of the first and second axle shafts. The lower cavity accumulates a volume of gearbox fluid with the speed change mechanism at least partially immersed in the lower cavity. The first machine cavity includes the first electric machine and the second machine cavity includes the second electric machine.
Flexible and variability-accommodating instrument cluster display
Systems, methods and computer readable storage media provide a flexible and variability-accommodating instrument cluster for display on an in-vehicle screen and a user experience interaction model for providing vehicle status-related information via the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster may be shown in a minimized content view, basic content view, or enhanced content view, wherein each content view may include a varying range of displayed information based on a layout template. The driver can easily scroll between the various content views while driving. The instrument cluster may alternatively be shown in a favorites view, amongst a plurality of preconfigured favorites views associated with different drivers, the favorites view including a user-selected set of gauges in a user-selected layout. A steering wheel-based shortcut control is provided that can be assigned to a changeable parameter and used to toggle the parameter in association with an instrument cluster display element while driving.
DRIVE AXLE ASSEMBLY FOR VEHICLE
A drive axle assembly of a vehicle is provided. The drive axle assembly includes: a motor; a first shaft and a second shaft; a gearbox; a right shifting fork; a right inner ring-gear support; a right sun gear, a right inner planet gear, and a right outer planet gear; a left shifting fork; a left inner ring-gear support; a left sun gear and a left planet gear, where the left sun gear is configured to rotate coaxially with the right inner ring-gear support, and the left sun gear is configured to rotate synchronously with the second shaft; a driving gear, configured to rotate synchronously with the left planet gear by using a left planet support; and a differential connected with the driving gear.
ELECTRIFIED FIRE FIGHTING VEHICLE
An electrified fire fighting vehicle includes a chassis, a cab coupled to the chassis, a body coupled to the chassis, a front axle coupled to the chassis, a rear axle coupled to the chassis, a water tank supported by the chassis, an energy storage system coupled to the chassis and positioned rearward of the cab, a water pump supported by the chassis, and an electromagnetic device electrically coupled to the energy storage system. The electromagnetic device is coupled to the water pump and at least one of the front axle or the rear axle. The electromagnetic device is configured to receive stored energy from the energy storage system and provide a mechanical output to selectively drive the water pump and the at least one of the front axle or the rear axle.
Axle system
An axle system includes an axle stub and a clamping unit, the axle stub being formed in a substantially rotationally symmetrical manner about a stub axis, the clamping unit in an assembled state transmitting a clamping force to the axle stub, the clamping unit and the axle stub in the assembled state being secured non-positively to prevent movement relative to one another.
VEHICLE CHASSIS WITH INTERCHANGEABLE PERFORMANCE PACKAGES AND RELATED METHODS
Vehicle chassis with interchangeable performance packages and related methods. are disclosed herein. An example vehicle chassis disclosed herein includes a frame including a first chassis portion including a cavity, a battery platform coupled to first chassis portion, and a first subframe couplable within the cavity, the first subframe including a first motor and a first suspension assembly, and a second subframe couplable within the cavity, the second subframe including a second motor and a second suspension assembly, the second motor having a greater power than the first motor, the second suspension assembly having a greater stiffness than the first suspension assembly.
DEVICE FOR FASTENING A TANK TO A VEHICLE
A device for fastening a tank to a vehicle is provided. The tank is substantially in the form of a cylinder with an axis arranged substantially horizontally. The device comprises at least two substantially identical, substantially flat frames, substantially perpendicular to the axis, comprising an opening presenting a shape substantially identical to a section perpendicular to the axis of the tank so as to be able to enclose, at least partially, the tank. The device further includes a fastening interface to the vehicle and an impact energy dissipation feature that dissipates impact energy transmitted to the tank according to a substantially horizontal direction substantially perpendicular to the axis. The impact energy dissipation features is arranged between the opening and the fastening interface.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AN ELECTRIFIED VEHICLE
Methods and systems are provided for a vehicle air duct. In one example, a system for a vehicle, includes a passage comprising an inlet at a downstream portion of a front wheel well of the vehicle and an outlet upstream of a rear wheel well of the vehicle.
Battery release system for vehicle
A system is provided to prevent the burning of a vehicle or human injury caused by a fire spread from a battery to a vehicle in the event of a fire in the battery. The battery release system includes a controller that outputs a control signal to release a battery pack from a vehicle to separate the battery pack therefrom when the controller determines that a fire occurs in the battery pack. A mounting structure is rotatably mounted to a body frame and supports the battery pack. A locking device is mounted to the body frame and the locking device locks the mounting structure supporting the battery pack to the body frame, and releases the locked state of the mounting structure in response to the control signal of the controller.
