ROCKET MOTOR INTEGRATION
A vehicle is provided which includes a vehicle support structure having a casing of a rocket motor that is arranged to sustain an inertial load generated, at least in part, by the vehicle when the rocket motor is inactive. In some examples, the vehicle is a land-based vehicle and the vehicle support structure includes a roll cage. In other examples, the vehicle is a helicopter and the vehicle support structure is a skid structure.
Dual engine air and land multimodal vehicle
An air and land multimodal vehicle comprises a frame, a propeller engine attached to a first location of the frame supplying power and torque to a propeller, a ground engine attached to a second location of the frame supplying power and torque to one or more ground traction elements, and a flexible wing releasably connectable to the frame, wherein the propeller engine is vertically and horizontally spaced from the ground engine and the ground engine extends at least six inches below a base of the frame.
Electrified military vehicle
A military vehicle including an engine coupled to the chassis for providing mechanical power to the military vehicle, a motor/generator coupled to the engine, and an energy storage system including a battery electrically coupled to the motor/generator. The military vehicle is operable in a silent mobility mode with the engine inactive and the energy storage system providing power to the motor/generator to operate the military vehicle. The motor/generator and the battery are sized such that electrical power generation through engine drive of the motor/generator is greater than the power depletion through operation of the military vehicle in the silent mobility mode. The motor/generator can charge the energy storage system while the military vehicle is driving or stationary.
Electrified military vehicle
A driveline including a motor/generator configured to receive power from an engine and output power to a tractive element, an accessory drive configured to receive power from the engine and output power to an accessory, and an energy storage system including a battery, the energy storage system electrically coupled to the motor/generator and the accessory drive. The driveline is operable in a charge mode with the motor/generator and the accessory drive providing electrical power to the energy storage system. The driveline is operable in a silent mobility mode with the energy storage system providing electrical power to the motor/generator and the accessory drive to operate the military vehicle.
Strap guide and tank mounting fixture
A system for enabling securing devices configured to hold fuels, such as gas cylinders, to frames is provided. The system includes an isolator fastened to the device configured to hold fuel and a strap that is attached to the frame. The isolator includes barriers on either side that prevent longitudinal slipping of the strap and ridges disposed between the barriers, which create cushioning between the strap and the device configured to hold fuel.
LOW GRAVITY ALL-SURFACE VEHICLE
Vehicles are disclosed which have a lower center of gravity than existing all-terrain, amphibious, and unmanned ground vehicles due to the location of propulsion units and other vehicle components inside the wheels of the vehicle. The vehicles can climb over large obstacles yet are also able to corner at high speeds. The vehicles can be configured for direct manual operation or operation by remote control, and can also be configured for a wide variety of missions.
Axle Assembly Having a Wet Disc Brake
An axle assembly having a planetary gear set and an internal brake assembly. The brake assembly may have a piston that may be disposed between a disc pack and the planetary gear set. Rotation of a sun gear of the planetary gear set may be inhibited when the piston urges the disc pack against a flange of an axle housing.
Hybrid tank wall for high performance crash resistant tanks
Embodiments of the present invention relate generally to reinforcement materials for use in reinforcing flexible tank walls, and particularly to hybrid textiles and weaving patterns that have been found particularly useful with such hybrid textiles.
Vehicle
A utility vehicle includes front and rear ground-engaging members configured to contact a ground surface, a drivetrain assembly operably coupled to the ground-engaging members, and a frame supported by the ground-engaging members and extending along a longitudinal axis of the utility vehicle. The utility vehicle also includes a rear cargo bed assembly supported by the frame and extending over a portion of the rear ground-engaging member. The rear cargo bed assembly has a rear platform with at least a first seating position. Additionally, the utility vehicle includes a rear cab frame assembly with an upright position and a collapsed position. The vehicle has a first height from the ground surface when the rear cab frame is in the upright position and a second height from the ground surface less than the first height when the rear cab frame is in the collapsed position. The second height is 72-84 inches.
Electrified military vehicle
A military vehicle includes a chassis, a cargo body, and an energy storage system. The chassis includes a passenger capsule having a rear wall. The cargo body is positioned behind the passenger capsule and supported by the chassis. The energy storage system includes a battery housing defining a lower end and an upper end, a battery disposed within the battery housing, a bracket coupled to the battery housing at or proximate the upper end thereof, a lower support supporting the lower end of the battery housing where the lower support is supported by the chassis, and an upper connector extending between the bracket and the rear wall.
