In one aspect, responsive to determining that an electric vehicle is connected to an external power source, an operator interface of the electric vehicle is enabled to command a headlight of the electric vehicle into an off condition. Responsive to determining that the electric vehicle is disconnected from the external power source and that the electric motor of the electric vehicle is powered, the headlight of the electric vehicle is maintained in an on condition, and the operator interface from commanding the headlight into the off condition is disabled. In another aspect, an electric vehicle headlight may be rendered non-deactivatable when an accelerator of the electric vehicle is enabled, and the headlight may be rendered deactivatable when an accelerator of the electric vehicle is disabled.

Snowmobile

The present specification relates to a snowmobile. The upper arm includes two proximal portions connected to the vehicle frame and the upper arm extends outwardly from the two proximal portions in the vehicle width direction and the upper arm is connected to the knuckle. The two proximal portions are rotatable so that the knuckle and the skis can move up and down relative to the vehicle frame. The axis Ax2, passing through the rotation center C2 of the two proximal portions of the upper arm, goes through a position of the rotation center of the secondary shaft or through a position above the rotation center of the secondary shaft. This structure can reduce the force acting on the vehicle body frame via the upper arm and prevent an increase in the force.

Emergency controller

An emergency controller includes an emergency stop switch to be activated upon detection of an emergency, a control section to be enabled upon activation of the emergency stop switch, and an emergency stop mechanism configured to execute and release braking by a brake mechanism under control of the control section. The control section is configured to perform execution control for causing the emergency stop mechanism to execute braking by the brake mechanism and for stopping operation of the engine upon the condition that the emergency stop switch is activated while the engine is in operation. The control section is configured to perform restoration control for causing the emergency stop mechanism to release the braking by the brake mechanism upon the condition that the emergency stop switch is deactivated and the engine is started.

Reversible Belt Drive Assemblies for Snowmobiles
20240294231 · 2024-09-05 · ·

A powertrain for a snowmobile includes an engine, a gearbox input shaft receiving rotational energy from the engine and a reversible belt drive assembly coupled to the gearbox input shaft. The reversible belt drive assembly is switchable between a forward mode and a reverse mode and includes a pulley, a planetary gear system coaxial with the pulley and a selector collar assembly interposed between the pulley and the planetary gear system translatable between a first position to form a forward geartrain bypassing the planetary gear system in the forward mode and a second position to form a reverse geartrain including the planetary gear system in the reverse mode.

Vehicle

A vehicle includes a transmission including an input shaft linked to a crankshaft of an engine so that power is transmitted therebetween, and an output shaft which is able to rotate at a rotational speed lower than a rotational speed of the input shaft. The snowmobile includes a driving device linked to the output shaft so that power is transmitted therebetween to generate a driving power, a supercharger including a rotation shaft linked to the output shaft so that power is transmitted therebetween, and a centrifugal clutch located between the crankshaft and the input shaft or between the output shaft and the rotation shaft.

TOE HOLD FOR A SNOWMOBILE

A snowmobile includes a frame, a motor, an endless track and a straddle seat. A left and a right footrest are each connected to the frame extend laterally outwardly therefrom. The footrests extend generally horizontally and are disposed vertically lower than the straddle seat for supporting a left foot of the driver. The left footrest is disposed on a left side of the snowmobile and the right footrest is disposed on a right side thereof. A left toe hold disposed above the left footrest is supported at an inner portion thereof and extends laterally outwardly therefrom to an outer portion thereof, the outer portion of the left toe hold being freely suspended. A right toe hold disposed above the right footrest is supported at an inner portion thereof and extending laterally outwardly therefrom to an outer portion thereof, the outer portion of the right toe hold being freely suspended.

Crawler vehicle and relative control method

A crawler vehicle having a first and second track driven by a first and second drive wheel respectively; an internal combustion engine; a mechanical power transmission assembly extending from the internal combustion engine to the first and second drive wheel; an electric power transmission assembly; a mechanical power connection configured to transfer energy between the mechanical power transmission assembly and the electric power transmission assembly; and at least one mechanical power transmission configured to transfer energy between the electric power transmission assembly and the mechanical power transmission assembly; the electric power transmission assembly extending from the mechanical power connection to the mechanical power transmission.

Snowmobile storage compartment, display, antenna, and body trim system

A snowmobile including a chassis, a main body panel, and a first trim panel. The main body panel is removably coupled to the chassis by way of a fastener assembly. The first trim panel is removably coupled to the main body panel. The first trim panel has a first thickness and extends a first distance from a side of the snowmobile.

Power takeoff for tracked vehicle
