Compressed Natural Gas Vehicle Safety System and Method
A multiply-redundant system that prevents a driver from starting and/or moving a vehicle if a compressed natural gas fill system is not correctly and completely disconnected from the vehicle. One or more sensors in combination with one or more optional microswitches combine to lock-out the vehicle's ignition or otherwise prevent it from starting and/or moving. For different levels of safety, different combinations of sensors can be used with the lowest level having a single proximity sensor sensing the presence or absence of a high-pressure fill hose. The highest level of safety being achieved by having separate proximity sensors on the fuel fill hose fitting, the gas cap cover and a manual safety valve along with a redundant microswitch. An optional override that may be restricted as to the number of times it can be used can allow starting with a faulty sensor in order to allow maintenance.
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCESSORY TO INCREASE POWER SUPPLY AND REDUCE FUEL REQUIREMENTS
A power control system may include at least one of batteries, a motor, and a data logic analyzer that can interpret certain variable conditions of a transport, such as a tractor trailer, moving along a road or highway. The data can be used to determine when to apply supplemental power to the wheels of a trailer to reduce fuel usage. One example device may include at least one of a power source affixed to a trailer to capture energy from movement of an axle of the trailer, and a motor powered by the power source to operate and provide movement assistance to the axle.
CONTROL SYSTEM FOR ADJUSTING SWATH FLAP OF WINDROWING WORK VEHICLE
A windrowing work vehicle with a swath flap arrangement is disclosed. The swath flap arrangement includes a swath flap that is supported for movement by a support structure between a raised position and a lowered position. The swath flap is configured to at least partially shape a windrow of a crop material. A method includes receiving, by a processor of a control system from a memory element, a stored position setting that corresponds to a position of the swath flap relative to the support structure. The method further includes processing, by the processor, a positioning control signal based, at least in part, on the stored position setting. Also, the method includes moving, with an actuator, the swath flap relative to the support structure between the raised position and the lowered position according to the positioning control signal.
One example device may include at least one of: a power creation module that generates electrical power, a battery which store the electrical power, a motor affixed to a trailer axle of a trailer which provides a turning force to the trailer axle when enabled to operate from the stored electrical power of the battery, and a motor controller configured to initiate the motor to operate according to a predefined sensor condition.
ACTIVE BRAKE COOLING DUCTS
A brake cooling system includes a brake cooling duct having an air intake and an outlet and an outlet vectoring unit to vary a direction of airflow from the outlet toward a brake assembly for a wheel as the wheel moves during operation of a vehicle.
Wheel fastener alarm
A wheel fastener alarm is provided with a fastener body, a cap covering the fastener body, a sensor array disposed within the fastener body, and a cover disposed over an opening in the fastener body and a hole in the cap.
SEMI-INDEPENDENT AUTOMATED CLUTCH SYSTEM FOR A MANUAL TRANSMISSION
A product that may include a clutch. A multi-chamber hydraulic unit may define a first chamber, a second chamber and a third chamber, each within the multi-chamber hydraulic unit. A first piston may separate the first chamber from the second chamber. The clutch may open in response to movement of the first piston. A second piston may separate the second chamber from the third chamber. A powered pump and a control valve may be provided wherein one of the second or third chambers may be in interruptible fluid communication with the powered pump through the control valve.
MODIFYING PERFORMANCE OF A POWERED VEHICLE
A powered skateboard having a powered wheel. The performance of the powered wheel can be modified based on one or more signals from one or more sensors on the powered vehicle and/or on a user of the powered vehicle.
Method for operating a drive device of a motor vehicle and corresponding drive device
A method for operating a drive device of a motor vehicle which has at least one electric machine with a phase angle detector and an output shaft operatively connectable with the electric machine, includes: when a return value of the phase angle detector of the electric machine is constant, performing a first diagnostic operating mode of the drive device, in which the operative connection between the electric machine and the output shaft is interrupted, subsequent, the electric machine is controlled by open lop control to a defined rotational speed, and when the return value continues to be constant after controlling the electric machine to the defined rotational speed, a first operating state of the phase angle detector is recognized and otherwise a correct function of the phase angle detector is recognized.
METHOD FOR MODIFYING AN ONBOARD CONTROL SYSTEM OF A POOL CLEANER, AND POWER SOURCE FOR A POOL CLEANER
An onboard control system of an electrically powered pool cleaner (3) is disclosed. The disclosed system is configured to operate the pool cleaner in accordance with a setup (A, B, C) of the onboard control system (350). The pool cleaner is configured for receiving electrical power via a cable (2) connecting the pool cleaner (3) to a power source (1). A method for operating an automatic pool cleaner with segmented cleaning setup data is also disclosed and includes determining that the automatic pool cleaner is disposed in a particular segment of a pool based on outputs from one or more onboard sensors; and controlling movement of the automatic pool cleaner along a surface of the pool based on the determining so that the automatic pool cleaner spends a predetermined amount of time in the particular segment of the pool.
