METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SHARING PRESENTATION DATA AND ANNOTATION
A method and apparatus for sharing presentation data, interactions, and annotation information between devices. The method includes: converting the presentation data into at least one image; transmitting the at least one image to the second device; displaying an image from among the at least one image on a screen of the first device, and transmitting image identification information about the displayed image to the second device; adding annotation data to the displayed image, based on a user input; and transmitting annotation information about the annotation data to the second device. The second device displays an image corresponding to the image identification information on a screen of the second device based on the image identification information, and the second device displays the annotation information on the image displayed on the screen of the second device the annotation information.
System and Method for Secure Machine-To-Machine Communications
Embodiments of the present invention include a method for providing a secure domain name system (DNS) for machine to machine communications. In one embodiment, the method includes storing policy information for machine to machine communications in a global DNS registry database server. The method further includes communicating the policy information for machine to machine communications from the global DNS registry database server to a machine DNS registry server located in an Internet service provider (ISP) network, wherein a control signaling gateway located in the ISP network is configured to utilize the policy information for machine to machine communications to allow only registered controllers associated with a machine to communicate with the machine.
SHARING NETWORK ADDRESSES
A network address assigned a shared designation by a first client computer is received, in a first data format, automatically, at a host computer from the first client computer. The network address is categorized and published. Publishing the network address includes converting the network address into a second data format, receiving, at the host computer, a subscription request from a second client computer, and sending the network address to the second client computer in response to receiving the subscription request.
HANDLING NOTIFICATIONS
In particular embodiments, one or more notifications are presented on a screen of a personal computing device while the personal computing device is in a locked state. Entry of one or more user responses may be detected on the personal computing device while still in the locked state. Each user response may be associated with at least one notification. An authorization event associated with the personal computing device may be detected, thereby unlocking the personal computing device. The one or more user responses on the personal computing device may then be presented to the user for confirmation. Once user confirmation is received, confirmed user responses may then be published.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DELEGATING RESOURCES BETWEEN DEVICES
A system performs operations including detecting a request to present a game application, receiving a resources identifier from a second communication device, determining from the resources identifier that the second communication device has one of a computing resource, a presentation resource, or both, selecting a configuration from a plurality of configurations according to an identity of the gaming application and the resources identifier, selecting according to the configuration at least one resource from one of the computing resource, the presentation resource, or both of the second communication device, and delegating processing by the first communication device of a portion of the gaming application according to the at least one resource of the second communication device.
Playback Device Media Item Replacement
Embodiments are provided for replacing media items in a queue of a playback device. An example implementation involves receiving, at the playback device, first data indicating an addition of a first media item to a queue. The playback device determines that the first media item is no longer accessible to the playback device at a later second time. The playback device initiates a query for a media item similar to the first media item and receives second data indicating that a second media item has replaced the first media item in the queue, the second media item being similar to the first media item. In response, the playback device initiates playback of the second media item on the playback device.
CHAINING SERVICE ZONES BY WAY OF ROUTE RE-ORIGINATION
Presented herein are techniques for use in a network environment that includes one or more service zones, each service zone including at least one instance of an in-line application service to be applied to network traffic and one or more routers to direct network traffic to the at least one service, and a route target being assigned to a unique service zone to serve as a community value for route import and export between routers of other service zones, destination networks or source networks via a control protocol. An edge router in each service zone or destination network advertises routes by its destination network prefix tagged with its route target. A service chain is created by importing and exporting of destination network prefixes by way of route targets at edge routers of the service zones or source networks.
DETERMINING THE OPERATIONS PERFORMED ALONG A SERVICE PATH/SERVICE CHAIN
Presented herein are techniques performed in a network comprising a plurality of network nodes each configured to apply one or more service functions to traffic that passes the respective network nodes in a service path. At a network node, an indication is received of a failure or degradation of one or more service functions or applications applied to traffic at the network node. Data descriptive of the failure or degradation is generated. A previous service hop network node at which a service function or application was applied to traffic in the service path is determined. The data descriptive of the failure or degradation is communicated to the previous service hop network node.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING INFORMATION APPARATUS, COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM, AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING INFORMATION
A control method according to the present disclosure causes a computer of an information apparatus to: display on a display a display screen representing a floor plan including one or more rooms; and using at least one memory that associates first information indicating a type of each of one or more device icons representing one or more target devices with second information indicating an attribute of each of the one or more rooms, display a device icon having a room that corresponds to a type of a device icon among the one or more device icons in a region on the display screen corresponding to a room that corresponds to the device icon and display a device icon not having a room that corresponds to the type of the device icon among the one or more device icons in a prescribed region on the display screen.
Correlated Personalization of Multiple Communication Services
A message (203) of a first communication service is received from a service provider. On the basis of the received message (203) of the first communication service, an information element for personalizing communication services is stored. The received message (203) of the first communication service is then forwarded towards a subscriber (10). Further, a message (205) of a second communication service is received from the subscriber. The stored information element is inserted into the received message (205) of the second communication service. The received message (205) of the second communication service with the inserted information element is then forwarded towards the service provider. The service provider may then personalize the second communication service based on the information element.
