METHOD, APPARATUS AND SYSTEM FOR RENDERING HAPTIC EFFECTS
20180013640 · 2018-01-11 ·

The present disclosure relates to methods, apparatus or systems for managing a map of haptic atmospheres over a topographical zone. The zone may contain relief or noticeable objects. A set of devices equipped with haptic sensors and haptic actuators is wore by a set of users spread over the topographical zone. Each device is contributing to the management of the map by sending its localized haptic measurements to a server. The server calculates and maintain the map according to these spread measurements. Client devices also send request to get a haptic effect representative of the haptic atmosphere around a second location in the topographical zone. The server calculates the response according to this second location and to the characteristics of the client.

FILE SERVER APPARATUS
20180013827 · 2018-01-11 ·

A file server apparatus includes a second file system volume including cache data of a first file system volume stored in a shared file storage apparatus. The file server apparatus determines the operation type indicated by an access request to the first file system volume from a client. When the operation type is directory operation, the file server sends an instruction of directory operation to the shared file storage apparatus, and then transmits a completion response to the client. When the operation type is file operation, the file server apparatus executes a file operation in the second file system volume, transmits a completion response to the client, and then transmits a file operation instruction to the shared file storage apparatus.

NETWORK SYSTEM OF RAILCAR

The present invention provides a network system of a railcar, the network system being capable of efficiently performing maintenance work. One example of the network system of the railcar of the present invention includes: intra-car networks (N1 to N3) to which first and second apparatuses are connected; an inter-car network (NA) for transmission of information between the apparatuses mounted on different cars; routers (R1 to R3) each provided and connected between the corresponding intra-car network (N1 to N3) and the inter-car network (NA) and each including a network address translation portion configured to mutually convert a private address of the first apparatus and an IP address of the inter-car network (NA); and a maintenance transmission path forming unit configured to form a transmission path through which the transmission and reception of the information are performed between a maintenance terminal (5) and a maintenance target apparatus selected from the first and second apparatuses, the transmission path not passing through the network address translation portion of the car on which the maintenance target apparatus is mounted.

APPLICATION RECORDING
20180013814 · 2018-01-11 ·

In one example of the disclosure, a graphic user interface is sent to a client system for display via a web browser. The graphic user interface is to enable receipt of a user instruction to commence recording of user actions made via the web browser upon a subject web application. Responsive to receipt of the user instruction, a key is caused to be sent via the web browser to a host system hosting the subject web application. The key and recording data indicative of user actions performed upon the subject web application via the web browser are received from the host system via the web browser. The key and the recording data are included within a web page or web pages of the subject web application. The key is utilized to access the recording data. The recording data is sent to the client system for display via the web browser.

COMMUNICATION USING VIRTUAL NUMBERS

Examples disclosed herein involve receiving a request from a calling device to establish a communication session between a mobile device and the calling device, the mobile device assigned a virtual telephone number, retrieving location information corresponding to a location of the mobile device from a location register, and sending a redirect to a session border controller (SBC) to establish the communication session between the calling device and the mobile device based on the location information.

NETWORK SYSTEM, CLOUD CONNECTOR AND METHOD FOR IDENTIFICATION OF NETWORK DEVICES
20180013854 · 2018-01-11 · ·

A network system includes a first network user having a plurality of network devices, wherein the network devices have identification parameters for identification, a second network user having a cloud computing infrastructure, and a cloud connector having a first interface and a second interface. The cloud connector is connected via the first interface to the first network user and connected via the second interface to the second network user. The cloud connector executes a passive scan and an active scan of the first network user so that at least one of the network devices is identifiable by the cloud connector. A network device profile is loadable from the second network user into the cloud connector, and the active scan is executed on the basis of the network device profile being loaded into the cloud connector.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING TO-BE-UPLOADED NSD
20180013860 · 2018-01-11 ·

The present invention relates to the field of communications technologies, and in particular, to a method and an apparatus for determining a to-be-uploaded NSD, so as to resolve a technical problem of a relatively low network service generation efficiency. In embodiments of the present invention, multiple NSDs are pre-stored, and when an NSD needs to be uploaded, it is only required to select an appropriate NSD from the stored NSDs for uploading; and when there is a service requirement, an NSD does not need to be generated before being uploaded. Therefore, a time required for uploading an NSD is reduced, and network service generation efficiency is improved.

Remote Radio Unit with Adaptive Fronthaul Link using Adaptive Compression
20180013597 · 2018-01-11 ·

A distributed radio frequency communication system facilitates communication between a wireless terminal and a core network. The system includes a remote radio unit (RRU) coupled to at least one antenna to communicate with the wireless terminal. The RRU includes electronic circuitry to perform at least a first portion of a first-level protocol of a radio access network (RAN) for communicating between the wireless terminal and the core network. The system also includes a baseband unit (BBU) coupled to the core network, and configured to perform at least a second-level protocol of the RAN. A fronthaul link is coupled to the BBU and the RRU. The fronthaul link utilizes an adaptive fronthaul protocol for communication between the BBU and the RRU. The adaptive fronthaul protocol has provisions for adapting to conditions of the fronthaul link and radio network by changing the way data is communicated over the fronthaul link.

SERVICE REQUEST PROCESSING METHOD, RELATED APPARATUS, AND SYSTEM
20180013822 · 2018-01-11 · ·

A service request processing method, a related apparatus, and a system are provided. In the service request processing method provided in embodiments of the present invention, after receiving a service request reported by a network element, a load balancer first determines whether status information of a data node that corresponds to the service request indicates that the data node is available; and rejects, if the status information indicates that the data node is unavailable, to deliver the service request to an application node.

Occasionally-connected computing interface

Described are computer-based methods and apparatuses, including computer program products, for allowing a user to switch between interfacing with a service through a network or through short message service (SMS). A chat service is executed through which a first user at a first computer can communicate directly with a second user at a second computer. A request is received from the first computer to enable the first user to interface with the chat service through a mobile device of the first user using SMS instead of through the network using the first computer. The chat service is configured to interface with the mobile device through SMS, including communicating chat information through SMS to the first user's mobile device, and communicating control information through SMS to the first user's mobile device such that the first user can control a full functionality of the chat service using SMS.
