Spoof detection based on challenge response analysis

Methods, systems, and computer-readable storage media for determining that a subject is a live person include capturing a set of images of a subject instructed to perform a facial expression. A region of interest for the facial expression is determined in a first image of the set, the first image representing a first facial state that includes the facial expression. A set of facial features is identified in the region of interest, the facial features being indicative of interaction between facial muscles and skin of the subject due to the subject performing the facial expression. A determination is made, based on the facial features, that the first image substantially matches a template image of the facial expression of the subject. Responsive to determining that the first image substantially matches the template image, identifying the subject as a live person.

Automatic generation system of training image and method thereof

An automatic generation system of a training image and a method thereof are provided. The disclosure generates a training image and records the target category and the target position. The disclosure adds the target image to the container image as a candidate image, calculates a reliability of the candidate image, and repeatedly executes the process until the reliability of the candidate image meets a threshold condition for generating the training image. The disclosure is able to generate the training images automatically, and the recognition difficulty of the training image is adjustable by the user, so as to be suitable for customized recognition training.

SYSTEM OF JOINT BRAIN TUMOR AND CORTEX RECONSTRUCTION
20180008187 · 2018-01-11 · ·

System for performing fully automatic brain tumor and tumor-aware cortex reconstructions upon receiving multi-modal MRI data (T1, T1c, T2, T2-Flair). The system outputs imaging which delineates distinctions between tumors (including tumor edema, and tumor active core), from white matter and gray matter surfaces. In cases where existing MRI model data is insufficient then the model is trained on-the-fly for tumor segmentation and classification. A tumor-aware cortex segmentation that is adaptive to the presence of the tumor is performed using labels, from which the system reconstructs and visualizes both tumor and cortical surfaces for diagnostic and surgical guidance. The technology has been validated using a publicly-available challenge dataset.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMAGE ANALYSIS
20180012082 · 2018-01-11 ·

A method for image analysis, including recording an image sequence at a vehicle system mounted to a vehicle; automatically detecting an object within the image sequence with a detection module; automatically defining a bounding box about the detected object within each image of the image sequence; modifying the image sequence with the bounding boxes for the detected object to generate a modified image sequence; at a verification module associated with the detection module, labeling the modified image sequence as comprising one of a false positive, a false negative, a true positive, and a true negative detected object based on the bounding box within at least one image of the modified image sequence; training the detection module with the label for the modified image sequence; and automatically detecting objects within a second image sequence recorded with the vehicle system with the trained detection module.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MAPPING AN ENVIRONMENT
20180012370 · 2018-01-11 ·

A method for mapping an environment by an electronic device is described. The method includes obtaining a set of sensor measurements. The method also includes determining a set of voxel occupancy probability distributions respectively corresponding to a set of voxels based on the set of sensor measurements. Each of the voxel occupancy probability distributions represents a probability of occupancy of a voxel over a range of occupation densities. The range includes partial occupation densities.

DISEASE CHARACTERIZATION FROM FUSED PATHOLOGY AND RADIOLOGY DATA
20180012356 · 2018-01-11 ·

Methods and apparatus distinguish invasive adenocarcinoma (IA) from in situ adenocarcinoma (AIS). One example apparatus includes a set of circuits, and a data store that stores three dimensional (3D) radiological images of tissue demonstrating IA or AIS. The set of circuits includes a classification circuit that generates an invasiveness classification for a diagnostic 3D radiological image, a training circuit that trains the classification circuit to identify a texture feature associated with IA, an image acquisition circuit that acquires a diagnostic 3D radiological image of a region of tissue demonstrating cancerous pathology and that provides the diagnostic 3D radiological image to the classification circuit, and a prediction circuit that generates an invasiveness score based on the diagnostic 3D radiological image and the invasiveness classification. The training circuit trains the classification circuit using a set of 3D histological reconstructions combined with the set of 3D radiological images.

In some embodiments, a system for helping a customer find a desired product based on an image includes an electronic input device configured to receive, from the customer, the image, and a control circuit coupled to the electronic user input device and configured to identify one or more items in the image, identify, from a product data structure, a product that is similar to at least one of the one or more items in the image, and present, via an electronic display device, the product and an option to purchase the product.

SYSTEMS, PROCESSES AND DEVICES FOR OCCLUSION DETECTION FOR VIDEO-BASED OBJECT TRACKING
20180012078 · 2018-01-11 ·

Processes, systems, and devices for occlusion detection for video-based object tracking (VBOT) are described herein. Embodiments process video frames to compute histogram data and depth level data for the object to detect a subset of video frames for occlusion events and generate output data that identifies each video frame of the subset of video frames for the occlusion events. Threshold measurement values are used to attempt to reduce or eliminate false positives to increase processing efficiency.
