Rechargeable battery and manufacturing method thereof
A rechargeable battery and a manufacturing method of the same are provided, which can aid in preventing an electric short from occurring between electrode plates by forming a cutting portion of each on the electrode plates in the shape of a curved surface or a bead having a uniform thickness and/or a diameter sufficient to prevent or substantially prevent the cutting portion from piercing a separator separating the electrode plates from each other. In a present embodiment, the electrode assembly includes an electrode plate having a current collector plate, a coating portion having an electrically active material coated on the current collector plate, a non-coating portion formed at an edge of the current collector plate and not coated with the electrically active material, a cutting portion inwardly formed from the non-coating portion, and a curved portion formed along the cutting portion in a thickness direction of the non-coating portion.
POWER SUPPLY APPARATUS, PROTECTION APPARATUS, AND PROTECTION METHOD
When it has been determined according to a voltage detected by a voltage detecting unit 31 that a voltage detection line 23 between a focused-on battery 21 and the voltage detecting unit 31 has been broken, operations of each of switches 22 are controlled to separate a battery module 2 that includes the voltage detection line 23 from a power supply apparatus 1. When it has been determined according to the voltage detected by the voltage detecting unit 31 that the focused-on battery 21 has been overcharged or overdischarged, power input to, or output from, every battery module 2 is limited.
NON-AQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY BATTERY
The present invention relates to a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery (30) which includes: a positive electrode (1); a negative electrode (2); a non-aqueous electrolyte containing a non-aqueous solvent; an outer package (5, 7, 19) receiving the positive electrode (1), the negative electrode (2), and the non-aqueous electrolyte; and a current interrupt valve (14) which interrupts a current in response to an increase in pressure inside the outer package (5, 7, 19). The positive electrode (1) contains a carbonate compound, the non-aqueous solvent contains a fluorinated cyclic carbonate and a fluorinated chain ester, and the total content of the fluorinated cyclic carbonate and the fluorinated chain ester is with respect to the total volume of the non-aqueous solvent, 50 percent by volume or more.
