Method and system for monitoring soot production
Methods and systems are provided for using an engine laser ignition system to take images, in real-time, of a cylinder during combustion and estimate cylinder soot generation. If excess soot generation is determined, cylinder fueling is adjusted by varying an injection pressure, amount, and ratio. An air-fuel ratio of the cylinder is also adjusted in view of exhaust temperature constraints to reduce soot generation.
Multi-level deep feature and multi-matcher fusion for improved image recognition
A system, method and program product for implementing image recognition. A system is disclosed that includes a training system for generating a multi-feature multi-matcher fusion (MMF) predictor for scoring pairs of images, the training system having: a neural network configurable to extract a set of feature spaces at different resolutions based on a training dataset; and an optimizer that processes the training dataset, extracted feature spaces and a set of matcher functions to generate the MMF predictor having a series of weighted feature/matcher components; and a prediction system that utilizes the MMF predictor to generate a prediction score indicative of a match for a pair of images.
AUTOMATED COMBINED DISPLAY OF MEASUREMENT DATA
A computer-implemented method, system, and computer-readable medium for automatically generating a combined display of measurement data representing a combined measurement, such as a multiphase parameter, includes establishing, by a mobile computing device, communication connections with a plurality of measurement devices configured to generate measurement data. The mobile computing device receives the measurement data generated by the plurality of measurement devices, and in response to information indicative of the measurement data representing related parts of a combined measurement, the mobile computing device automatically groups the measurement data received from the measurement devices and automatically displays the grouped measurement data in a combined display that shares at least one axis of measurement. In at least one embodiment, the combined measurement is a multiphase parameter, such as a three-phase electrical parameter, and the combined display is a graph in which the measurement data shares at least one axis of measurement, such as time.

Determination of high risk images using peer-based review and machine learning
Methods, systems, and computer readable media are provided for identifying photos such as selfies in which the individuals in the photo are in imminent danger. One or more profiles are generated, each profile associated with a corresponding first user of a networked system and pertaining to problematic conditions for image capture. An image of a second user is captured via an image capture device. The captured image of the second user is uploaded to the networked system. The captured image of the second user is compared to the generated one or more profiles to determine a score value for the captured image of the second user. A score value may be generated based upon a combination of scores from one or more of geolocation information, metadata analysis, and image processing and machine learning. The upload of the captured image of the second user is rejected in response to the score value satisfying a threshold indicating a presence of problematic conditions during capturing of the image of the second user.

Method and apparatus to infer structural stresses with visual image and video data
The present invention includes an apparatus and method for determining time-varying stress experienced by a structure comprising: obtaining images that include the structure; segmenting the second and any subsequent images to include the static portions that are identified from the first image; computing with a processor the affine transformations between the first and second, and optionally subsequent images, sequence of images; estimating a deformation (i.e. translation and rotation) undergone by the structure; and converting the deformation to estimate the structural stress by using one or more scaling functions) to generate the time-varying stress experienced by the structure.
Lighting device alignment calibration system
A system for detecting misalignment of a light fixture uses a gateway controller device to receive images captured by an aerial drone. The gateway controller will select a group of the images and, for each image in the group: identify a segment of an illuminated surface that is contained in the image; identify a light fixture that is configured to direct light to the segment; and determine whether the image contains content indicating that the light fixture improperly aligned. For any image that indicating that the light fixture is improperly aligned, the system will output a signal indicating that the light fixture requires recalibration.
Automated combined display of measurement data
A computer-implemented method, system, and computer-readable medium for automatically generating a combined display of measurement data representing a combined measurement, such as a multiphase parameter, includes establishing, by a mobile computing device, communication connections with a plurality of measurement devices configured to generate measurement data. In at least one embodiment, the combined measurement is a multiphase parameter, such as a three-phase electrical parameter, and the combined display is a graph in which the measurement data shares at least one axis of measurement, such as time.
