Tubing system

The breakaway assembly includes a first breakaway subassembly and a second breakaway subassembly. The subassemblies are configured to connect, which causes bellows sheaths in each subassembly to compress and open pores, allowing fluid to flow through the subassemblies. The subassemblies can be connected to luer tip. The luer tips can be connected to an intravenous (IV) fluid line or other types of lines used in the medical field to move fluids. This allows the movement of fluid from a fluid-holding component to a patient. Unless the subassemblies are locked together, the subassemblies will be disconnected under the correct amount of pressure. This disconnection closes the pores on the subassemblies, which keeps fluid from leaking, and prevents the contamination of the IV line. Luer tips may also be connected to the subassemblies. Some of the luer tips allow for the quick connection of the luer tip to the subassembly through a flange being inserted into a notch or flange acceptor. This allows for the quick and easy replacement of components of a fluid transfer assembly.

A delivery adapter which may be used as an interface between a syringe and a catheter hub is described.

Disinfecting luer cap and method of use

Medical devices including a cap for a medical connector are disclosed. In some embodiments, the cap comprises a disinfectant, such as an antiseptic fluid and an insert configured to seal or partially seal the medical connector as it is engaged with the cap. In some embodiments the cap insert has a segment which is deformable under axially applied pressure as an end-user attaches the cap to the medical connector. In some embodiments this insert is configured to improve the exposure of antiseptic to the outer surface of the medical connector while minimizing exposure of the antiseptic inside the medical connector open lumen.

The first catheter interface connector can have a first visual indicator corresponding to the first visual indicator on the control unit. The first visual indicator on the first catheter interface connector can be to be active to indicate that the first catheter interface connector is connected to the first connection port on the control unit.

Rotating connector

A rotatable fluid flow connector including a base element and a rotatable element, the rotatable element being non-removably but rotatably connected to the base element for rotation about a common axis. For use in a rotatable fluid flow connector including a base element, a rotatable element arranged for locking engagement with the base element and rotation with respect thereto about a common axis, the rotatable element being formed with a flange having at least one flange surface extending in a plane which is perpendicular to the common axis.

Microcatheter system and method therefor
10406317 · 2019-09-10 · ·

A microcatheter system is disclosed which may include a microcatheter, one or more microcatheter extensions, and/or a microcatheter hub. In an embodiment, the microcatheter has a plurality of zones where the outside diameter of each zone from the distal to the proximal end has an outside diameter that is the same as or greater than the previous zone while the inside diameter is constant throughout the microcatheter length. In a further embodiment, a unique joining mechanism is employed for coupling a microcatheter to a microcatheter extension or to a microcatheter hub. In a further embodiment, the microcatheter has at least one perforation along a sidewall of the microcatheter.

A microcatheter system is disclosed which includes a microcatheter body and a microcatheter extension and/or a microcatheter hub. The microcatheter body includes a plurality of distal zones and a proximal zone. The outside diameter of each of the distal zones is progressively greater than an immediately adjacent and more distal zone. The outside diameter of the proximal zone has an outer diameter at a distal end thereof that is at least as great as the outer diameter of any zone of the plurality of distal zones and increases from the distal end to a proximal end of the distal zone. The inside diameter is constant throughout the microcatheter system. An internal connection assembly comprising a probe and a receptacle join adjacent parts of the microcatheter system.
