10806390 · 2020-10-20 · ·

A system and method for health diagnostics and more specifically to an image-capture based system and method for detecting physiological state for a subject. The system provides a remote and non-invasive approach by which to detect physiological state with a high confidence. The system enables monitoring of hemoglobin concentration changes by optical imaging and related detection systems.

Customization of help information based on EEG data

A method (100) is implemented by a computing device for helping a particular user use a user interface (UI). Electroencephalography (EEG) data is obtained (102) that indicates brain activity of a particular user during a period in which that user views the UI and/or interprets help information that describes how to use the UI. Based on the EEG data, the computing device selects (104), from among multiple predefined cognitive states, the one or more cognitive states that characterize the particular user during the period. The computing device assists (106) the particular user to use the UI by customizing the help information for the particular user based on the one or more selected cognitive states. A complementary computing device and computer program product are also disclosed.

FREQUENCY-MULTIPLEXED SPEECH-SOUND STIMULI FOR HIERARCHICAL NEURAL CHARACTERIZATION OF SPEECH PROCESSING
20200323495 · 2020-10-15 ·

A system and method for generating frequency-multiplexed synthetic sound-speech stimuli and for detecting and analyzing electrical brain activity of a subject in response to the stimuli. Frequency-multiplexing of speech copora and synthetic sounds helps the composite sound to blend into a single auditory object. The synthetic sounds are temporally aligned with the utterances of the speech corpus. Frequency multiplexing may include splitting the frequency axis into alternating bands of speech and synthetic sound to minimize the disruptive interaction between the speech and synthetic sounds along the basilar membrane and in their neural representations. The generated stimuli can be used with both traditional and advanced techniques to analyze electrical brain activity and provides a rapid, synoptic view into the functional health of the early auditory system, including how speech is processed at different levels and how these levels interact.

Presenting geographic search results using location projection and time windows
10803747 · 2020-10-13 · ·

Users within transit in a vehicle may initiate location queries to fulfill a set of interests, such as stops for food, fuel, and lodging. A device may fulfill the queries according to various factors, such as the distance of nearby locations to the user or to another location specified by the user, and the popularity of various locations. However, the user may not have specified or even chosen a route, and may wish to have interests fulfilled at a later time (e.g., stopping for food in 30 minutes), and a presentation of search results near the user's current location may be unhelpful. Presented herein are techniques for fulfilling location queries that involve predicting a route of the user, and identifying a timing window for the query results (e.g., locations that are likely to be near the user's projected location when the wishes to stop for food in 30 minutes).

Wearable device and control method therefor
10799133 · 2020-10-13 · ·

A wearable device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure of the present inventive concept, which is worn on a user's head to apply an electrical stimulation to a brain or measure brain waves from the brain, comprises: a wearing identification unit for identifying a worn state of the wearable device using a first sensor module detecting the worn state of the wearable device of a user; an electrode unit for applying an electrical stimulation to a user's brain or measuring brain waves from the user's brain; and a control unit for controlling the electrode unit to start the electrical stimulation or a brain wave measurement on the basis of the identification result by the wearing identification unit.

Biosignal acquisition device and system, method for acquisition of biosignals

Disclosed is a biosignal acquisition device for the acquisition, in particular the concurrent or simultaneous acquisition, of optical and electrical biosignals. The optical and electrical biosignals are both received by an analog front end device for biosignals, with an opto-electric converter for converting the optical biosignals into electrical signals. Also disclosed are a system of a plurality of biosignal acquisition devices and a biosignal acquisition method.

Automatic performance device and automatic performance method

The automatic performance device includes a storage part for storing a plurality of performance patterns, a performance part for playing a performance on the basis of a performance pattern stored in the storage part, an input part for inputting performance information through an input device that receives a performance operation of a user, and a selection part for selecting a performance pattern being a maximum likelihood estimation from the plurality of performance patterns stored in the storage part on the basis of the performance information input to the input part.

TRAFFIC OBSTRUCTION DETECTION
20200317200 · 2020-10-08 ·

One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for training and/or utilizing a traffic obstruction identification model for identifying traffic obstructions based upon vehicle location point data. For example, a training dataset, comprising sample vehicle location points (e.g., global positioning system location points of vehicles) and traffic obstruction identification labels (e.g., locations of known traffic obstructions such as stop signs, crosswalks, stop lights, etc.), may be evaluated to extract a set of training features indicative of traffic flow patterns. The set of training features and the traffic obstruction identification labels may be used to train a traffic obstruction identification model to create a trained traffic obstruction identification model. The trained traffic obstruction identification model may be used to determine whether a road segment has a traffic obstruction or not.
