Methods and Systems for Obtaining, Analyzing, and Generating Vision Performance Data and Modifying Media Based on the Vision Performance Data

The present specification describes methods and systems for modifying a media, such as Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, or Mixed Reality (VR/AR/MxR) media based on a vision profile and a target application. In embodiments of the specification, a Sensory Data Exchange (SDE) is created that enables identification of various vision profiles for users and user groups. The SDE may be utilized to modify one or more media in accordance with each type of user and/or user group.

20170290549 · 2017-10-12 ·

A physiological signal processing system/method for a physiological waveform that includes a cardiovascular signal component provides a first variable high pass filter that is responsive to the physiological waveform, and to a first corner frequency that is applied. A second variable high pass filter is responsive to a noise reference waveform from a noise reference sensor and is configured to high pass filter the noise reference waveform in response to a second corner frequency that is applied. A heart rate metric extractor is responsive to the variable high pass filters and is configured to extract a heart rate metric from the physiological waveform that is high pass filtered. A corner frequency adjuster is responsive to the heart rate metric extractor and is configured to determine the corner frequencies that are applied to the variable high pass filters, based on the heart rate metric that was extracted.

Brain stimulation system including diagnostic tool

A system for treating a patient comprises a stimulator for stimulating brain tissue, a controller for setting stimulation parameters and a diagnostic tool for measuring patient parameters and producing diagnostic data. The stimulation parameters comprise test stimulation parameters and treatment stimulation parameters. The stimulator delivers test stimulation energy to the brain tissue based on at least one test stimulation parameter and delivers treatment stimulation energy to the brain tissue based on at least one treatment stimulation parameter. One or more treatment stimulator parameters are determined based on the diagnostic data produced by the diagnostic tool The system is constructed and arranged to treat a neurological disease or a neurological disorder. Methods of treating a neurological disease or neurological disorder are also provided.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MONITORING FATIGUED DRIVING
20170281068 · 2017-10-05 ·

A method and device for monitoring fatigued driving. The device comprises a processor, a monitoring unit an alarm unit and an inflating unit connected to the processor. The processor is used to obtain a monitor result, transmit, according to the monitor result, an alarm instruction to the alarm unit, and transmit an air inflation instruction to inflating unit upon obtaining the monitor result again after transmitting the alarm instruction. The monitor unit is used to monitor, in real time, a driving state of the driver, and transmit data indicating the driving state of the driver; the alarm unit (12) is used to receive the alarm instruction, and provide the alarm according to the alarm instruction; and the inflating unit is used to receive the air inflation instruction, and fill air according to the air inflation instruction.

SENSOR-BASED CONDITION MONITOR
20170281075 · 2017-10-05 ·

A sensor-based system that measures at least one parameter relating to an individual and provides feedback to the individual when any of the measured parameters exceed a threshold value for that parameter. In some instances, the system can be used to monitor an individual recovering from a condition, for example, mild Traumatic Brain Injury. The system can include a wearable sensor that measures parameters, which may relate to the individual's movement, physiological function, and/or environment. The system can include a controller that receives the parameter measurements and determines whether such measurements are acceptable by comparison to a threshold value. The system can also include a feedback device that alerts the individual when a measured parameter is unacceptable, for example, with a visual, audible, and/or haptic cue, as well as the capability to receive input from the user when an otherwise acceptable parameter level is causing discomfort.

SYSTEM FOR DIAGNOSING MENTAL DISORDERS USING NEUROMETRICS
20170281035 · 2017-10-05 ·

Described are novel systems for the diagnosis of specific mental disorders using neurometrics. EEG parameters are compared to thresholds to determine if a person is suffering from autism spectrum disorder, Alzheimer's disease, anxiety, depression, or schizophrenia.

MODIFICATION OF BEHAVIOR OR PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS THROUGH VISUAL STIMULATION
20170281067 · 2017-10-05 ·

A system and a process are provided for evaluating subliminal pixel patterns and identifying trigger patterns, which are pixel patterns that trigger a response in subjects exposed to the pattern. Each pixel pattern is embedded in a digital video or a digital still image. Pixel patterns that are found to induce reactions in subjects are identified as trigger patterns and are flagged for re-testing. Re-tested trigger patterns that repeatably induce reactions are identified as positive trigger patterns and are studied further. Variations are made to a positive trigger pattern to determine whether small changes can affect how a subject responds when exposed to that positive trigger pattern. A positive trigger pattern is evaluated to determine whether it can induce an emotional, a physical, and/or a behavioral change in the subjects and, if so, the positive trigger pattern is applied to a real-world situation.
