The present disclosure provides apparatus and methods that improves the speed, functionality, and safety of wakeboat ballasting operations. A ballasting apparatus for wakeboats is provided, comprising a wakeboat with a hull and an engine; a hydraulic pump, mechanically driven by the engine; a hydraulic motor, powered by the hydraulic pump; a ballast compartment; and a ballast pump, powered by the hydraulic motor. A ballasting apparatus for wakeboats is provided, comprising a wakeboat with a hull and an engine; a ballast compartment; and a hydraulic ballast pump, the ballast pump configured to be powered by the engine, the ballast outlet and/or inlet of the ballast pump connected to the ballast compartment, the ballast pump configured to pump ballast in and/or out of the ballast compartment. A ballast pump priming system for wakeboats is provided, comprising a wakeboat with a hull and an engine; a ballast pump on the wakeboat; a fitting on the ballast pump which permits water to be introduced into the housing of the ballast pump; and a source of pressurized water, the pressurized water being fluidly connected to the fitting, the pressurized water thus flowing into the housing of the ballast pump.

RELEASABLE BOOT AND BINDING ASSEMBLY FOR VARIOUS SPORTS
20190070485 · 2019-03-07 ·

Provided herein are various embodiments for a boot for releasable engagement with a binding having a downwardly facing ledge and a toe strap. The boot preferably contains a sole, a toe portion, and a heel portion. The boot preferably also contains a heel retaining device extending rearwardly from the heel portion of the boot and having an upwardly facing engagement surface at the top of the device which engages with the downwardly facing ledge of the binding to prevent vertical movement of the boot relative to the binding while allowing forward horizontal movement of the boot relative to the binding.

Paddleboard kit
10207783 · 2019-02-19 ·

The invention involves a paddleboard kit for converting any water sports board such as a surfboard into a paddleboard. An oar support assembly, typically secures oars with pivotal paddles to the board; facilitating rowing exercises that may be practiced while kneeling or standing. During use, the pivotable paddles pivot in such a way that the blade portion holds a steady position in relation to a shaft portion on the power stroke, while being free to fold in the opposite sense on the idle stroke when each stroke is executed as a substantially axial thrust of the shaft. The oar support assembly secures the pair of oars and is itself secured to the board by way of board couplers adjustably coupled to a portion of a strap that tightens to snuggly wrap around the board.

Boat with reconfigurable running surface for wake adjustment

A watersports boat includes a hull having an underside extending from a forward bow to n aft transom along a longitudinal centerline. The underside defines a running surface that contacts water when the hull moves therein. The underside includes one or more features that enhance the boat's performance.

Wake-Modifying Device for a Boat

A recreational sport boat includes a hull having starboard and port sides and a transom, a generally horizontal platform, and a pair of wake-modifying devices positioned aft of the transom. The generally horizontal platform extends aft of the transom and is configured to support a human weighing at least 100 lbs. on an upper surface thereof. The pair of wake-modifying devices are attached to the platform. One of the wake-modifying devices is positioned on a port side of the platform's centerline, and another of the wake-modifying devices is positioned on a starboard side of the platform's centerline. Each wake-modifying device is moveable between a non-deployed position and a deployed position in which the wake-modifying device is angled downwardly at an angle relative to the top surface of the generally horizontal platform.

A waterproof apparatus including a waterproof enclosure including electronic circuitry, a solar panel and a keypad. The electronic circuitry is configured to communicate data wirelessly when pressure is applied to the keypad. The waterproof apparatus may be mounted to watersport equipment, such as a surfboard, kiteboard, kayak, wind surfer jet ski, paddle board, or a wakeboard.

Wake shaping apparatus and related technology

The invention provides an apparatus that attaches to a hull of a boat to disrupt water flow around the hull such that a wake created behind the boat is larger, differently positioned, and/or differently shaped. The apparatus includes a base and a blade. The blade is equipped with a mount structure that attaches the base to the blade. The blade can be reversibly mountable to the base such that either face of the blade faces a desired direction. The apparatus provides tool-free adjustment between a first configuration in which the base is mounted to the blade and a second configuration in which the base and the blade are separated. In some embodiments, the apparatus is removably attached to the hull by one or more suction cups. Additionally, the apparatus can be inflatable. The invention further provides a deployable lanyard assembly and a splash deflector for use with the apparatus.

Boat apparatus for producing a surf wake
10179632 · 2019-01-15 · ·

A boat propeller apparatus can be coupled to virtually any motor boat to cause the boat to safely and efficiently produce a surfable wake. The boat propeller apparatus can be configured to mount to the boat in a way that causes the apparatus to be positioned and secured behind but spaced from the propeller while the boat is moving forward. The apparatus will therefore be in the path of the propelled water and will function to divert the propelled water in such a way as to create a larger/taller wake than would otherwise be produced by the boat. The boat propeller apparatus can also function as a propeller shield and be used in conjunction with a propeller guard.
