Communication apparatus, communication system, and communication method
The present invention has the object of forwarding packets according to a road line without using road line information while preventing unnecessary forwarding of packets. A communication apparatus includes: a positional information acquisition unit that acquires information that indicates the current position of the communication apparatus and the traveling direction of the vehicle unit; a reception unit that receives from a transmission origin device packets that contain forwarding information that indicates the position of the transmission origin device and the position of the transmission destination; a communication control unit that prevents forwarding of packets when the current position is not within an area from the position of the transmission origin device to the position of the transmission destination; an information processing unit that, when the current position is within the area, extracts, as a corrected position, a position that is specified by the traveling direction among positions that are separated from the current position by a remaining distance between the position of the transmission destination and the current position; and a transmission unit that transmits packets that include the forwarding information in which the position of the transmission destination is changed to the corrected position and the position of the transmission origin device is changed to the current position.
Systems and methods for interference mitigation in heterogeneous networks
Disclosed systems and methods mitigate interference in heterogeneous networks. Embodiments include adaptive or selective inter-cell interference coordination, adaptive multi-user zero forcing, adaptive power, and/or combinations of the foregoing. Techniques may be used to favor one group of users (e.g., femto users or macro users) over another. Certain embodiments focus quality of service (QoS) improvements on a first group of users, while using constraint processes to provide a threshold QoS for a second group of users.
System and method for filtering digital certificates
One example discloses a system for filtering digital certificates within a communications network, comprising: a first set of network-nodes, having a first attribute and a respective first set of digital certificates; a second set of network-nodes, having a second attribute and a respective second set of digital certificates; and a digital certificate authority, having a digital certificate validity list which includes the first and second sets of digital certificates; wherein the certificate authority filters the validity list based on the first attribute and transmits the filtered validity list to the first set of network nodes. Another example discloses a method for filtering digital certificates, comprising: maintaining a digital certificate validity list; identifying a set of network-nodes, having an attribute; filtering the validity list based on the attribute; and transmitting the filtered validity list to the set of network-nodes.
System and method for locating devices in predetermined premises
A location tracking system includes a first plurality of signal receiving and transmitting devices, the members of the first plurality each include an RF transceiver, sound receivers and sound emitters. A second plurality of signal transmitting units, the members of the second plurality each include at least an RF transceiver and a sound emitter. A system control element in communication with the members of the first plurality wherein the control element determines the locations of members of the second plurality based, at least in part, on information received from members of the first plurality.
Methods and apparatus relating to the use of received signals to determine wireless terminal location and/or refine location determination models
Methods and apparatus relating to use of actual and/or virtual beacons are described. Virtual beacons are virtual in that an actual beacon need not be transmitted but a rather a virtual beacon transmitter at a desired location maybe considered to transmit virtual beacons. In some embodiments a set of beacon transmitter information for one or more beacons is supplied to devices in a communications system. The beacon transmitter information indicates transmission power and location of actual and virtual beacon transmitters as well as information to be communicated by virtual beacons. Devices with access to beacon information can determine based on the location of a wireless terminal whether the wireless terminal is within coverage area of a virtual beacon and report reception of the virtual beacon to the wireless terminal or a component of the wireless terminal which acts upon receiving an indication of beacon reception.
Method and system for secure wheelchair use in demand response transportation systems
There is a system for secure use of a wheelchair in demand response transportation systems comprising a wheelchair restraint comprising a central housing disposed between a vehicle strap and a wheelchair strap, the vehicle strap to secure the wheelchair restraint to the demand response vehicle, further comprising a vehicle strap sensor configured to provide a vehicle strap sensor electrical signal indicating whether the vehicle strap is securely affixed to a wheelchair anchor of a demand response vehicle, the wheelchair strap to secure the wheelchair restraint to the wheelchair, further comprising a wheelchair strap sensor configured to provide a wheelchair strap sensor signal indicating whether the wheelchair strap is securely connected to a wheelchair via the wheelchair strap.
CONTEXT-AWARE CONTROLLING OF MULTIPLE SYSTEMS OF CONTROLLABLE DEVICES
The invention relates to a method for enabling a controller configured for controlling devices of a first system via a first backend to control devices of a second system via a second backend. The method, performed by the second backend, includes receiving, from the first backend, location information of the controller and credentials of the controller or/and of a user of the controller, receiving, from a source trusted by the second backend, location information of the controller and credentials of the controller or/and of the user, and performing context matching to enable the controller to control the devices of the second system by comparing the location information received from the first backend with the location information received from the source trusted by the second backend and by comparing the credentials received from the first backend with the credentials received from the source trusted by the second backend.
RADIO COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, RADIO STATION, RADIO TERMINAL, COMMUNICATION CONTROL METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
A radio terminal (3) can perform carrier aggregation using a first cell (10) of a first radio station (1) and a second cell (20) of a second radio station (2). The first radio station (1) performs, with the radio terminal (3), radio resource control for the first cell (10) and the second cell (20) in order to perform the carrier aggregation. At least one of the second radio station (2) and the radio terminal (3) is configured to transmit, to the first radio station (10), information about a problem occurring in a radio link in the second cell (20) between the second radio station (20) and the radio terminal (30) while the carrier aggregation of the first cell (10) and the second cell (20) is being performed.
METHOD, SYSTEM AND APPARATUS FOR ENABLING VEHICULAR COMMUNICATIONS
The invention generally relates to the field of vehicular communications. In particular, the invention relates to method, system and apparatus for establishing and maintaining vehicular communications, such as wireless vehicular communications in a vehicular ad hoc network (VANET).
SMART HOME SYSTEM AND METHOD
An electrical management system for managing a smart home. A plurality of end units such as electrical outlets and electrical switches sample the electricity going through the end-unit at least 1,000 times per second. The information is communicated to a server, which analyzes the data across many installations and can alert the user for any abnormal electrical situation in the home.
