Detecting Location within a Network
Systems and methods for detecting the presence of a body in a network without fiducial elements, using signal absorption, and signal forward and reflected backscatter of radio frequency (RF) waves caused by the presence of a biological mass in a communications network.
ULTRASOUND ASSISTED LOCATION AND ACCESS CONTROL
A system and method for performing an operation at a vehicle is disclosed. The system includes a first acoustic transceiver that transmits and receives inaudible acoustic signals and a second acoustic transceiver that transmits and receives inaudible acoustic signals. The second acoustic transceiver is stationary with respect to the vehicle. A processor receive an inaudible acoustic signal transmitted between the first acoustic transceiver and the second acoustic transceiver, determines a location of the first acoustic transceiver with respect to the vehicle from the received signal, and performs an operation at the vehicle based on the location of the first acoustic transceiver with respect to the vehicle.
Method and system for emergency notification
Method and apparatus for notifying an emergency responder of a vehicle emergency. Communication is established with a cellular telephone located within the vehicle. The communication link is monitored and the vehicle occupant is notified of link loss. The apparatus monitors vehicle safety systems for detection of an emergency condition. Upon detection, the occupant is notified that an emergency call will be made. If no cancellation is received, vehicle location information is obtained from a global position system, synthesized into voice signals, and communicated to an emergency responder using the cellular telephone. A plurality of occupant and vehicle emergency information may also be provided. Emergency responders may be provided with a touch tone menu to select among the available information. Vehicle and occupant information may be communicated to the apparatus from external sources, such as a web server database via cellular telephone connection, or removable memory.
Location-based healthcare collaboration, data management and access control
The locations of electronic devices in an institutional facility are determined based on interaction with the wireless mobile devices of users who roam though the facility and interact with (or are detected by) the devices.
Systems and methods for streaming content to nearby displays
The present disclosure provides systems and methods for a mobile device to select content, such as user profiles, contact information, images, and/or videos, to automatically stream to available displays when the mobile device moves within a certain range of the displays. In one embodiment, a method at a mobile device comprises receiving a user input to select a media content asset; detecting a display within a proximity of the mobile device; and sending the selected media content asset to the display without requiring additional user input.
MEASURING DIMENSION OF OBJECT THROUGH VISUAL ODOMETRY
An electronic device includes at least one sensor, a display, and a processor. The processor is configured to determine a dimension of a physical object along an axis based on a change in position of the electronic device when the electronic device is moved from a first end of the physical object along the axis to a second end of the physical object along the axis. A method includes capturing and displaying imagery of a physical object at an electronic device, and receiving user input identifying at least two points of the physical object in the displayed imagery. The method further includes determining, at the electronic device, at least one dimensional aspect of the physical object based on the at least two points of the physical object using a three-dimensional mapping of the physical object.
ENABLING IMPROVED USER EXPERIENCE WITH LOCATION ESTIMATES
In a system a map of a site is presented on a display. A user input specifying at least one path section in the map on the display is detected. A definition of the at least one path section is stored. A representation of a radio environment stored for the site is provided as positioning assistance data. The representation of the radio environment enables a determination of a location estimate for a mobile device at the site based on at least one characteristic of at least one radio signal detected by the mobile device at the site. The definition of the at least one specified path section is provided for enabling an adjustment of a determined location estimate.
LOCATION ESTIMATES
A device obtains at least one characteristic of at least one radio signal detected at a mobile device that is located at a particular site and a representation of a radio environment for the site and a definition of at least one specified path section for the site. The at least one path section has been specified by a person in a map presented on a display. The device determines a location estimate for the mobile device based on the at least one characteristic of the at least one radio signal and based on the representation of the radio environment for the site and adjusts the determined location estimate based on the definition of at least one specified path section.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING VESSEL TRAFFIC INFORMATION
The present disclosure relates to a system and a method for monitoring vessel traffic information. The system for monitoring vessel traffic information includes: an interlock device configure to adjust identification information of a wireless terminal included in a received message to correspond to an identification system of auto identification system (AIS) message and convert the received message into a AIS message type, when receiving a message including ship information from a wireless terminal of a ship located in at least one ship network; a merging device configure to merge the ship information included in the converted AIS message with radar image information; and a monitoring device configure to display merged monitoring information on a monitoring screen.
MEETING ATTENDANCE TRACKING SYSTEM
Various systems and methods for providing a meeting attendance tracking system are provided herein. A meeting attendance tracking system includes an indoor positioning service coupled to a plurality of radio transmitters, and operable to determine a location of a user device, the user device associated with a user, the location of the user device corresponding with a location of the user; a database interface to: access a database of scheduled events for the user; and determine a current event from the database of scheduled events, the current event corresponding with a current time and date; and a scheduler coupled to the indoor positioning service and the database interface, to: determine that the location of the user device does not correspond with a location of the current event; determine whether the user is attending a conflicting event; and provide a notification to the user or a meeting organizer regarding the current event.
