PROVIDING A PERSONAL ASSISTANT MODULE WITH A SELECTIVELY-TRAVERSABLE STATE MACHINE
20170359707 · 2017-12-14 ·

Techniques are described herein for leveraging an online semantic processor to generate a finite state machine to be delivered to and implemented on a resource-constrained device. In various implementations, a user request may be received by a personal assistant module. Data indicative of the user request may be uploaded, e.g., by the personal assistant module, to an online semantic processor. Data may be received, e.g., by the personal assistant module, from the online semantic processor. The received data may represent a state machine having a plurality of candidate states of the personal assistant module. Each candidate state may be potentially responsive to the request. Resources local to the resource-constrained device may be analyzed to ascertain signal(s) unavailable to the online semantic processor. The personal assistant module may then transition to a given state of the plurality of candidate states. The given state may be selected based on the signal(s).

BARRAGE VIDEO LIVE BROADCAST METHOD AND APPARATUS, VIDEO SOURCE DEVICE, AND NETWORK ACCESS DEVICE
20170359619 · 2017-12-14 ·

A barrage video live broadcast method is performed at a video source device that is communicatively connected to a network access device and a video capture device. The video source device sends an account distribution request to the network access device and the account distribution request is used to instruct the network access device to return a video source device account bound to the network access device for accessing a barrage video system hosted at a remote server. The video source device then obtains a live video stream captured by the video capture device (e.g., a unmanned aerial vehicle) and sends the live video stream to the network access device by using a Wi-Fi Direction connection. The network access device then forwards the live video stream to the barrage video system for broadcasting the live video stream and live comments submitted from other user accounts of the barrage video system.

DEVICE PAIRING USING A SECURE ZONE
20170359674 · 2017-12-14 ·

A method and system of secure zone pairing. Using the method, a low-power broadcast message is generated by a pairing device and transmitted within a broadcast zone, where the low-power broadcast message includes pairing information. A host device that is within the broadcast zone receives the low-power broadcast message and transmits a first indication that the host device is within the broadcast zone. A guest device that is within the broadcast zone receives the low-power broadcast message and transmits a second indication that the guest device is within the broadcast zone. The method pairs the host device and the guest device based on the pairing information, the first indication, and the second indication.

METHOD, SECOND SERVER AND SYSTEM FOR MANAGING ACCESS TO A FIRST SERVER
20170359721 · 2017-12-14 · ·

A method for managing access to a first server comprises intercepting a message including a connection request, for connecting to the first server. The message is sent at an initiative of a secure element, to the first server. A filtering rule, based upon a predetermined threshold relating to a rate or a number of connection requests, as a first filtering criterion, is accessed. The filtering rule comprises a second filtering criterion. A counter is modified for each intercepted message. The counter is compared to the predetermined threshold and, if the counter is equal to or greater than the predetermined threshold and the second filtering criterion is satisfied, a message including predefined output data is sent to the secure element. The output data controls or filters a session between the secure element and the first server.

DYNAMIC COUPON MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR COUPON REDEMPTION CONDITIONED UPON GROUP PARTICIPATION
20170357994 · 2017-12-14 ·

A method includes identifying a plurality of customers that have connected with a retail interface using a computing device, and identifying a coupon that is available to a group that is registered with the retail interface, wherein the retail interface can access data identifying the members of the registered group, and wherein the identified coupon is associated with a proposed transaction that is redeemable only in response to a minimum number of the members using their computing devices to have an active connection with the retail interface at the same point in time. The method further includes determining a number of the identified group members, and marking the identified coupon as being redeemable in response to the number of the identified group members being greater than the minimum number of members that the identified coupon associates with the proposed transaction.

SECURITY FOR MONITORING AND DETECTION SYSTEMS
20170359172 · 2017-12-14 ·

A detection and monitoring system includes: at least one host; and a plurality of detection modules, where the at least one host and the plurality of detection modules communicate across an encrypted channel using a shared key. An automated method that provides secure communications includes: receiving, at a detection module, a session request message sent from a host; sending, from the detection module to the host, a session create message; and receiving, at the detection module, a session accept message sent from the host. An automated method of enabling communication in a detection and monitoring system includes: identifying, at a server, a set of detection modules; identifying, at the server, a set of hosts; generating, at the server, an updated secret shared key; and pushing the updated shared secret key from the server to the set of detection modules and the set of hosts using an encrypted channel.

ADAPTABLE SCHEMA BASED PAYLOADS
20170359677 · 2017-12-14 ·

An approach is provided for providing adaptable schema based payloads for state advertisement messages. In some implementations, multiple schemas (e.g., payload data and structure definition) can be used to flexibly and dynamically define advertisement message payloads. For example, the computing device can use advertising message to share and broadcast information between devices by using adaptable schema based payloads. The computing device can store schemas, receive service advertising data, and determine a schema for encoding service advertising data into an advertising message. The computing device can generate the advertising message, encode a schema identifier into the advertising message header, and encode device state data into the advertising message payload according to the determined schema. In some implementations, the computing device can receive advertising message, determine a schema based on a schema identifier in the message, and extract device state data from the advertising message according to the determined schema.

WIRELESS DEVICE INITIATED HANDOVER

Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for user equipment initiated handover. Certain aspects include a method for wireless communications by a user equipment (UE) including determining a first signal metric between the UE and a first base station, while the UE has a connection established with the first base station. The method further includes determining a second signal metric between the UE and a second base station, while the UE does not have a connection established with the second base station. The method further includes determining that the second signal metric is stronger than the first signal metric. The method further includes declaring a radio link failure with the first base station based on determining that the second signal metric is stronger than the first signal metric. The method further includes establishing a connection with the second base station.

METHOD FOR COUPLING SUBSCRIBER IDENTITY MODULE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE THEREOF
20170359762 · 2017-12-14 ·

A method for coupling a subscriber identity module in an electronic device and the electronic device thereof. The method includes sensing a request for changing from a currently coupled 1st SIM to a 2nd SIM among a plurality of SIMs. A 1st communication protocol between the 1st SIM and a short-range communication module is inactivated in response to the change request to release a 1st communication session with the 1st SIM.
