Wireless traffic channel release prevention before update process completion
Embodiments described herein provide systems and methods for preventing release of a wireless traffic channel before update process completion. In a particular embodiment, a method provides establishing a wireless traffic channel between the wireless communication device and a wireless access point of a wireless communication network. The method further provides identifying an event that triggers release of the wireless traffic channel by the wireless communication device and, upon identifying the event, preventing the release of the wireless traffic channel until a background update process that uses the wireless traffic channel is completed. Upon completion of the background update process, the method provides allowing the release of the wireless traffic channel.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CELLULAR SUBSCRIPTION TETHERING
A system includes a processor configured to access a cellular SIM profile of a portable cellular device connected to a vehicle computer. The processor is also configured to obtain account parameters from the SIM profile, identifying a cellular provider and user account and provide cellular connectivity, using vehicle telematics hardware, through a connection established on the basis of the obtained account parameters.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CHANGING CONNECTION STATE OF UE
The present disclosure relates to a control plane signaling method and apparatus for reducing signaling due to a change in a UE's state, and more particularly, to a method for efficiently changing a connection state of a UE in a radio network without mobility of the UE or a change in a state transition of the UE in a core network. The method of changing, by a UE, a connection state includes receiving an RRC (radio resource control) connection release message including instruction information for instructing to change a state to a light connection state from a base station, configuring the connection state of the UE to the light connection state based on the instruction information, and transmitting an RRC connection resumption request message to the base station without an access class barring operation, when a state change to an RRC connection state is triggered.
METHOD OF CHANGING CONNECTION STATE AND APPARATUS THEREFOR
Disclosed are a control plane signaling method and apparatus for reducing signaling according to a state change of a UE, and a method of efficiently changing a UE connection UE in a wireless network without movement or a state transition change of a UE in a core network. A method of changing a connection state by a UE includes: transmitting UE capability information indicating that the UE supports a light connection to an eNB; receiving a Radio Resource Control (RRC) message including indication information indicating a state change to a light connection state from the eNB; and changing a connection state of the UE from an RRC-connected state to the light connection state based on the indication information.
COMMUNICATION APPARATUS AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING SAME
A communication apparatus has a first interface for connecting with a first network and a second interface for connecting with a second network. The communication apparatus detects that an address used in the first network is changed, and furthermore, when it detects that the address that is changed in the first network duplicates an address being used in the second network, disconnects a connection of a link layer with the second network, and after the disconnection, reconstructs the second network using an address which is not duplicated by the changed address.
Maintaining a packet-switched signaling connection during handover between cells
Methods and apparatus are provided to reduce service interruption for intra-RAT and inter-RAT handover procedures. The UE performs a NAS signaling procedure via a NAS signaling connection in a mobile communication network. The UE monitors a radio resource status and determines whether a radio bearer has been or is being established for a RRC connection for data transmission. The UE determines whether to release the NAS signaling connection after completing the NAS signaling procedure based on whether the radio bearer has been established. In one embodiment, the UE monitors a radio resource status and determines whether a radio bearer has been established for a RRC connection for data transmission. The UE determines whether to start a timer upon completing the NAS signaling procedure based on whether the radio bearer has been or is being established.
Method for efficiently updating secondary carrier information in a broadband wireless access system
The present invention relates to a method for updating secondary carrier information for preemptively allocating secondary carriers during handover and an apparatus for carrying out the method. A method in which a terminal performs handover in a broadband access system that supports multiple carriers according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a step in which a target base station receives, from a serving base station, a first message including carrier allocation information on at least one secondary carrier preemptively allocated to the terminal; a step of performing network reentry with the target base station; and judging whether the multi-carrier configuration of the serving base station and the multi-carrier configuration of the target base station are the same, and, if the configurations are different from each other, transmitting, to the target base station, a second message for requesting multi-carrier capability negotiation.
Method for counting a DRX (discontinuous reception) timer in a carrier aggregation system and a device therefor
The present invention relates to a wireless communication system. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method and a device for counting a DRX (Discontinuous Reception) timer in a carrier aggregation system, the method comprising: configuring a plurality of cells including at least one FDD (Frequency Division Duplex) serving cell and at least one TDD (Time Division Duplex) serving cell; and counting a DRX timer in a subframe, wherein the subframe is an uplink subframe for all TDD serving cells.
EFFICIENT TRANSITION BETWEEN A TRUSTED WLAN AND A WWAN
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may prevent rejected attachment requests when connecting to a trusted wireless local area network (WLAN) and from a wireless wide area network (WWAN). For example, an attachment packet data network (PDN) connection may be maintained with the WWAN while connected to the trusted WLAN. In some cases, the connection used to maintain the attachment may be an internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) connection. Alternatively, the UE may determine that the WLAN connection is a trusted connection and deactivate the WWAN connection. Should the WLAN become unavailable the UE may reactivate the connection with the WWAN.
METHOD FOR PERFORMING OPERATION RELATED TO RADIO LINK FAILURE IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND APPRATUS FOR SUPPORTING THE SAME
The present disclosure provides a method and apparatus for performing an operation related to a Radio Link Failure (RLF) in a wireless communication system. Particularly, the method performed by a user equipment (UE) includes monitoring a radio link state of a serving base station (BS); detecting a physical layer problem; transmitting a specific random access preamble related to the RLF to one or more neighboring BSs through a specific Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH) resource; receiving a random access response from the one or more neighboring BSs; determining a neighboring BS to which an additional RRC connection is to be configured based on the received random access response; and configuring an RRC connection with the determined neighboring BS, wherein the specific PRACH resource is a common PRACH resource that is separately configured to transmit the specific random access preamble, thereby preventing the Link Outage phenomenon of the UE for a specific service.
