An information processing device performs processing on document image data. The document image data includes first image data of a plurality of images and second image data. The first image data undergoes character recognition processing. The second image data does not undergo character recognition processing. The information processing device includes a detecting section, an extracting section, and a processing section. The detecting section detects the first image data from the document image data. The extracting section extracts the first image data from the document image data. The processing section generates composite image data by compositing the images of the first image data and performs character recognition on the composite image data.

Seatbelt detection using computer vision

An apparatus includes a capture device and a processor. The capture device may be configured to generate a plurality of video frames corresponding to an interior view of a vehicle. The processor may be configured to perform operations to detect objects in the video frames, detect (a) occupants of the vehicle and (b) seats of the vehicle based on the objects detected in the video frames, determine a status of a seatbelt for each of the occupants and select a reaction based on (a) a state of the seatbelt and (b) characteristics of the occupants. The reaction may be selected to encourage proper usage of the seatbelt based on the characteristics of the occupants. The characteristics may be determined by performing the operations on each of the occupants.

Age detection in vehicles using computer vision

An apparatus includes a capture device and a processor. The capture device may be configured to generate a plurality of video frames corresponding to an interior view of a vehicle. The processor may be configured to perform operations to detect objects in the video frames, detect occupants of the vehicle and seats of the vehicle based on the objects detected in the video frames, determine an age of the occupants based on characteristics of the occupants and select a reaction if the age of the occupant is below a threshold for the seat. The threshold may be based on a location of the seat within the vehicle. The characteristics may be determined by performing the operations on each of the occupants.

Navigation device with consistent output and 2-stage moving average filter thereof
10929701 · 2021-02-23 · ·

There is provided a 2-stage moving average filter for a navigation device including a delta regulator and an N-taps average circuit. The delta regulator is used as a first stage to receive motion delta at a varied frequency, and combine or split the received motion delta to output a regulated motion delta at a fixed frequency. The N-taps average circuit receives and averages N regulated motion delta and outputs the averaged motion delta at a fixed frequency.

Entropy field decomposition for image analysis

A system and method for analysis of complex spatio-temporal data utilize complimentary general approaches to data analysis: information field theory (IFT), which reformulates Bayesian theory in terms of field theory in order to incorporate the important and often overlooked conditions that ensure continuity of underlying parameter spaces that are to be estimated from discrete data, and entropy spectrum pathways (ESP), which uses the principle of maximum entropy to incorporate prior information on the structure of the underlying space in order to estimate measures of connectivity.

Scanning devices for ascertaining attributes of tangible objects
11054370 · 2021-07-06 · ·

A scanning device that has a housing including an opaque wall configured to position an imaging device (e.g., still or video camera) to capture an image of a tangible object, a staging area (e.g., transparent wall, opening) opposite of the opaque wall, and an opaque body extending between the opaque wall and the staging area. The scanning device has a chamber that enables the imaging device to capture the image relative to the staging area. A focal distance from the imaging device to the staging area enables capturing a physical characteristic (e.g., a color, size, shape, texture, pattern) of the tangible object in the image at a resolution that enables ascertaining an attribute (e.g., authenticity, purity, or quality) of the tangible object. The opaque body can have an expandable structure to increases or decrease a focal distance to the tangible object.

INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE AND RECOGNITION SUPPORT METHOD
20210012139 · 2021-01-14 ·

In order to acquire recognition environment information impacting the recognition accuracy of a recognition engine, an information processing device 100 comprises a detection unit 101 and an environment acquisition unit 102. The detection unit 101 detects a marker, which has been disposed within a recognition target zone for the purpose of acquiring information, from an image captured by means of an imaging device which captures images of objects located within the recognition target zone. The environment acquisition unit 102 acquires the recognition environment information based on image information of the detected marker. The recognition environment information is information representing the way in which a recognition target object is reproduced in an image captured by the imaging device when said imaging device captures an image of the recognition target object located within the recognition target zone.
