Method and system for monitoring and displaying physiological conditions
Providing an indication of a state of awareness for a patient includes arranging data of an EEG power spectrogram to provide power versus frequency in a log-log arrangement; calculating a first best-fit line for a lower frequency region of the EEG power spectrogram, using a processor; and calculating a second best-fit line for a higher frequency region of the EEG power spectrogram. Also, a display device is used to display a density spectral array of the spectrogram using a display scale that ranges between an upper limit and a lower limit, wherein the lower limit is set based on one of the first best-fit line and the second best-fit line.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR RECORDING AND ANALYSING LAPSES IN MEMORY AND FUNCTION
An apparatus and method for sensing, recording and analyzing data representative events of memory lapses and function uses a wearable device (e.g., wrist, armband, pendant) having sensors to detect user gestures and vital signs for transmission and analysis by a computation unit to predict the onset of cognitive impairment related diseases.
System for electroencephalographic detection of an inadequacy between the state of a patient placed under ventilatory support and the setting of the machine used for this support, and use of this detection to adjust the setting
The invention relates to a system for electroencephalographic detection of an improper adjustment of a ventilator used on a mammal. The system includes an electroencephalograph, capable of measuring, as a function of time, an electroencephalographic signal representative of a breathing process; and an input for receiving a respiratory initiation signal, different from the electroencephalographic signal, capable of indicating a respiratory initiation time. The detection system further includes means for specifying a beta frequency band comprised between 15 and 30 Hz and with a width comprising between 5 and 10 Hz; means for processing the measured electroencephalographic signal, configured for processing the measured electroencephalographic signal as it is being acquired, in the sole specified beta frequency band; and means for identifying, for each breathing cycle, an improper adjustment of the ventilator from the electroencephalographic signals processed in the sole beta frequency band.
Binaural sleep inducing system
By using an iterative loop of data collection, binaural tone generation/presentation, and analysis binaural tones can be introduced to induce an existing brain state to change from one associated with being awake to a state associated with being asleep. The current state of an individual's brain is determined by measuring movement and electrical activity. Using this data a binaural tone can be generated to induce the brain state to change. As the state of the brain is continually monitored the applied binaural tone is modified and applied until the desired sleep state is obtained.
TECHNIQUES FOR TREATMENT OF EPILEPTIC DISORDERS USING ELECTROPHYSIOLOGICAL BIOMARKERS AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Techniques for determining treatment of a subject with IS based on EEG-derived biomarkers are provided. According to some aspects, a method of adapting treatment of a subject having infantile spasms (IS) is provided, the method comprising obtaining electroencephalogram (EEG) data of the subject, determining a measure of delta power of the EEG data and/or a measure of spike frequency of the EEG data, and determining subsequent treatment of the infantile spasms of the subject based at least in part on the determined measure of delta power of the EEG data and/or measure of spike frequency of the EEG data.
Method and apparatus for closed-loop brain stimulation
A closed loop brain stimulation system includes a means for reading electrophysiological signals from the brain; means for reading other biometric signals; means for stimulating the brain; and a control algorithm that dynamically adjusts the parameters of stimulation to minimize a reference utility function that computes the difference between the current and desired brain states, and current and desired biometric states.
COMPUTER-IMPLEMENTED METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETECTING AND PREDICTING THE NEURAL SIGNATURE OF DISORDERS OF EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONS
The present relates to a computer-implemented method for detecting and predicting cognitive pathologies of the brain based on a Hold and Release process. The invention also concerns a device related to the claims method.
Monitoring brain neural activity
Monitoring brain neural activity comprises repeatedly applying electrical stimuli to evoke neural responses in the brain. Neural responses evoked by the stimuli are recorded. The recorded neural responses are assessed for changed characteristics over time, to monitor a time-varying effect on the recorded neural responses of local field potentials arising from a source other than the electrical stimuli.
WEARABLE COMPUTING APPARATUS WITH MOVEMENT SENSORS AND METHODS THEREFOR
There is provided a wearable system for determining at least one movement property. The wearable system includes a head-mounted device including at least one movement sensor; a processor connected to the head-mounted device; and a display connected to the processor. The processor includes a medium having instructions stored thereon that when executed cause the processor to: obtain sensor data from the at least one movement sensor; determine at least one movement property based on the obtained sensor data; and display the at least one movement property on the display. There is also provided a method for displaying the at least one movement property.
APPARATUS, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATING AN EMOTIONAL-BASED CONTENT RECOMMENDATION LIST
Media content recommendation systems and methods are operable to recommend one or more media content events to a user based on identified changes in the user's emotional state during a life event that is experienced by the user.
