The secondary battery includes an electrode assembly, a case accommodating the electrode assembly, a cap plate sealing the case and including an inversion plate, and a terminal assembly. The terminal assembly includes an insulation plate coupled to a top surface of the cap plate and having a short-circuit hole corresponding to the inversion plate and an air hole spaced apart from the short-circuit hole, a terminal plate coupled to a top surface of the insulation plate and electrically connected to the electrode assembly, and a sealing member coupled to a bottom surface of the insulation plate and opening or closing the air hole.

Electricity storage device

A positive collector and a negative collector are arranged such that connecting surfaces of the positive collector and the negative collector that are connected to collection groups face an electrode assembly. An insulator is arranged in a case between the positive and negative collectors and a terminal wall of the case. The insulator separates an opposing surface from the terminal wall. This reduces useless space and insulates the collectors and the power collection groups from the case.

A secondary battery includes an electrode body that includes a positive-electrode sheet and a negative-electrode sheet, a prismatic exterior body that accommodates the electrode body, a metallic sealing plate that seals an opening of the prismatic exterior body, and a positive-electrode current collector that is electrically connected to the positive-electrode sheet and the sealing plate. The positive-electrode current collector includes a base that faces the sealing plate and a lead that is disposed on an end portion of the base. A projection is formed on the sealing plate. The projection is fitted in a connection opening that is formed in the base. The projection and the base are welded to each other.

Methods and devices associated with bonding of solid-state lithium batteries

An example device includes a lithium-based battery having conductive battery contacts protruding from a surface of the battery, where a non-conductive portion of the surface of the battery separates the conductive battery contacts. The battery is a type that undergoes an expansion during charging in which the expansion of the lithium-based battery includes an outward bulging of the non-conductive portion of the battery surface. The device includes a substrate having conductive substrate contacts. The conductive battery contacts are electrically connected to the respective conductive substrate contact via a flexible electrically-conductive adhesive that physically separates the conductive battery contacts from the respective conductive substrate contacts and allows for relative movement therebetween caused by the expansion of the lithium-based battery.
