Method and system for transferring a message

Method and system for transferring a message, comprising routing information relating to the intended recipient of the message and content information, from a first node via a second node to a third node in a communications network. According to the invention, a repository is associated with the second node. The method comprises the steps of: transmitting the message from the first node to the second node; storing data representative of the content information in the repository of the second node; replacing, by the second node, in the message, the content information by a token; transmitting the message, comprising the routing information and the token, from the second node to the third node; retrieving, by the third node, the content information from the second node; and replacing by the third node, in the message, the token by the content information.

Services offloading for application layer services

A device may receive a set of packets. The device may select a first one or more packets, of the set of packets, for a Layer 7 (L-7) inspection based on a type of network traffic associated with the set of packets. The device may perform the L-7 inspection on the first one or more packets. The device may determine contextual information associated with the first one or more packets based on the L-7 inspection. The device may offload a second one or more packets, of the set of packets, for a Layer 4 (L-4) inspection without performing the L-7 inspection based on the contextual information associated with the first one or more packets.

Electric power system monitoring using distributed conductor-mounted devices

Disclosed herein are systems for monitoring and protecting an electric power system using a plurality of conductor-mounted detectors (CMDs). In one embodiment, a plurality of CMDs are coupled to an electrical conductor. Each CMD may harvest power from the electrical conductor and may monitor electrical current in the conductor. When the electrical current in the conductor exceeds a fault current threshold a fault signal may be transmitted. A receiver in communication with each of the plurality of CMDs may receive the fault signal from at least one of the plurality of CMDs. A protective action may be generated and implemented to clear the fault. A portion of the electric power system affected by the fault may be determined based on identification of each of the plurality of CMDs to transmit the fault signal.

RELAY DEVICE

A relay device transmits a frame received from any of a plurality of external devices that are connected via a plurality of communication lines. The external device is connected to one of the communication lines and to another one of the communication lines by searching a relay information table for specifying a relay destination of the frame. In the relay information table, information for identifying a frame type is stored in association with relay destination identifying information for identifying a communication line serving as a relay destination of a frame. The relay information table is partitioned into a plurality of sub-tables in accordance with priority based on the type identifying information or the relay destination identifying information. The relay device searches the sub-tables in descending order of priority using the type identifying information contained in the frame received from the external device as a search key specifying the relay destination.

Managing synchronized data requests is disclosed. Examples of synchronized data requests include viewer-induced synchronization, failure-induced synchronization, and player-induced synchronization. Information indicative of a potential occurrence of an amount of synchronized requests for audiovisual content that has a potential to have a detrimental impact on one or more components within a content delivery network is obtained. Subsequent to obtaining the information, one or more remediation actions are automatically caused to occur.

Establish client-host connection

Example embodiments disclosed herein relate to establishing a connection over a network between a first host device and a client device. The client device transmits client information over the network related to the first host device. Display information is transmitted by the first host device to be output by the client device.

A method for providing content from a first node to a second node using a satellite communications system includes receiving side information at a gateway in the satellite communications system. The side information may be transmitted from a subscriber terminal to the gateway via a first communication path that includes a satellite link. The method also includes determining at the gateway that the side information is associated with first content available at the first node, and determining at the gateway that second content is available from a source other than the first node. The method also includes generating output content using the second content and the side information. The output content may be substantially the same as the first content. The method also includes providing the output content to the second node via a second communication path that does not include the satellite link.

Systems and methods for enhanced user equipment assistance information in wireless communication systems

Systems and methods are disclosed for communicating enhanced user equipment (UE) assistance information between nodes in wireless communication systems. The UE achieves power savings and latency requirements more effectively by communicating its preferences, constraints and/or requirements to an evolved Node B (eNodeB) in the form of UE assistance information. The UE assistance information may include, for example, an indication of a preferred set of discontinuous reception (DRX) settings, current data traffic conditions, expected data traffic conditions, power or performance preferences, and/or an indication of the UE's mobility between cells.

In service upgrades for a hypervisor or hardware manager hosting virtual traffic managers

Embodiments are directed towards upgrading hypervisors operating in hardware clusters that may be hosting one or more virtual clusters of virtual traffic managers. Virtual clusters may be arranged to span multiple computing devices in the hardware cluster. Spanning the virtual clusters across multiple hardware nodes the virtual cluster may enable the virtual clusters to remain operative while one or more hardware nodes may be upgraded. Hypervisor may include a management control plane for virtual clusters of virtual traffic managers. Hypervisors running on hardware nodes may manage the lower level networking traffic topology while the virtual traffic managers may manage the higher level network processing. Further, hypervisor based management control planes may interface with the virtual clusters and virtual traffic manager's using pluggable translation modules may enable different versions of hypervisor based management control planes and virtual traffic managers to communicate and cooperatively manage network traffic.
