SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING REINFORCED WEATHERSTRIP
Methods for manufacturing fabric-reinforced weatherstrip include incorporating a fabric application step into a process for making coated substrates. In one embodiment, a strip of the fabric from a roll of material may be applied directly onto a coating after it has been applied in a coat die to a foam profile, while the coating is still in the molten state. Alternatively, a fabric application plate may be attached to an upstream side of coating die with a fabric feed channel cut into the plate. The fabric follows the channel to contact and mate with the foam profile. The fabric applicator plate may be configured so as to exert pressure on only the part of the product where the fabric is being applied. Ultrasonic welding techniques may also be employed.
MOLDING MEMBER SHAPE CONTROL DEVICE
A molding member shape control device includes: a flowable molding material flow passage; a flow resistance member advancing into and withdrawing from the flowable molding material flow passage; a sensor measuring a speed of a molding member formed by extruding a molding material from the flowable molding material flow passage; and a control unit advancing and withdrawing the flow resistance member on the basis of a difference between a speed of the molding member measured by the sensor and a target speed of the molding member at a position of the sensor.
LONG FIBER EXTRUSION APPARATUS AND METHOD
A long fiber extrusion apparatus applies a polymer melt to a length of fiber using a die and an extruder where the length of fiber is directed to the die through a glass tube. The transparency of the glass tube enables viewing of the fiber as it is directed through the glass tube to monitor for any difficulties or problems encountered by the fiber passing through the glass tube. The glass interior surface of the glass tube reduces friction between the fiber and the glass surface and thereby reduces abrasion of the fiber and dust produced from abrasion of the fiber inside the glass tube.
Manufacturing Method and Manufacturing Device for Extruded Rubber Member
Provided are a manufacturing method and a manufacturing device for an extruded rubber member. The manufacturing method for an extruded rubber member includes extruding at least one type of rubber from a die, the method including the steps of inserting at least one thread into a flow channel of the at least one type of rubber, and embedding the at least one thread in a longitudinal direction of the extruded rubber member.
EXTRUSION DIE AND NOZZLE COOLING SYSTEM FOR LARGE SCALE 3D ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
An additive manufacturing (AM) extrusion die system having an extrusion die configured to receive a material to be extruded. The extrusion die includes a main body having a cylindrical section and a distal tapered section terminating at an extruder tip. The main body is configured to mount to a barrel of an additive manufacturing system. The die further includes a central extruder channel extending axially along the main body configured to receive the material at the cylindrical section of the main body and output the material at the extruder tip of the main body, and a cartridge heater slot formed within the main body and generally parallel to the central extruder channel. The cartridge heater slot configured to receive a cartridge heater therein for imparting thermal energy to the material within the central extruder channel. A cooling system is provided for controlling a temperature of the material.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR THE PRODUCTION OF AN ELONGATED PRODUCT, AND ELONGATED PRODUCT
A method for producing an elongated product. By an extrusion unit, a material is extruded onto a core of the elongated product as a casing having a predetermined wall strength. Downstream of the extrusion unit and while the material is still moldable, the elongated product is supplied in a conveying direction to a molding unit. A portion of the material is held by the molding unit and, from the held material, a molded part is formed in an integral manner on the casing. The formation of the molded part is thereby carried out in an advantageous manner, via a deformation of material of the casing.
Rotary head extruder
An improved rotary head extruder incorporates an auger system comprising more than one auger to create asymmetrical, substantially cylindrical extruded products having a density within the range of about 3.0 to about 6.0 lbs./cu ft. A wide variety of fine particles such as flour and powder can be successfully introduced into and conveyed within a rotary head extruder to the die assembly, where the materials are cooked to form hard, dense extruded collets with randomly asymmetrical shapes. A transition piece at the downstream end of the augers allows for continuous, uniform flow to the die assembly, where cooking takes place. Using the equipment described, raw materials other than the typically used corn meal are produced, while maintaining the desired bulk density, texture, and crunch of random extruded products.
Method of producing honeycomb structural body
A method feeds raw material into a metal die and extrudes the raw material to produce a honeycomb molded body. The method fires the honeycomb molded body to make a honeycomb structural body. The metal die has a first metal die and a second metal die arranged at an upstream side of an extrusion direction of the raw material and a second metal die arranged at a downstream side of the extrusion direction of the raw material. The first metal die has a projection section and the second metal die has a penetration hole. The projection section is fitted to the penetration hole to assemble the first metal die and the second metal die. Communication holes formed in the second metal die communicate with raw material second feeding holes formed in the first metal die.
Bead apex rubber-forming method, and bead apex rubber-forming device
The present invention forms bead apex rubber with good precision on the outer circumferential surface of the bead core. A molding process, in which unvulcanized rubber is made to flow into a bead apex molding chamber that is surrounded by surfaces that include the outer circumferential surface of a circular bead core and the bead apex rubber is formed directly on the outer circumferential surface of the bead core that is rotating around the core axis, is provided. The molding process comprises: a tip forming step that forms the leading end of the bead apex rubber; a middle section forming step that sequentially forms the bead apex rubber to be continuous with the leading end; and a joining step to join the back end and the leading end of the bead apex rubber by inflowing the unvulcanized rubber therebetween.
Bag with gripping bands
A closure for closing a bag and a die head and method for making the closure. The closure includes two closure members having support walls and mating interlocking profiles. The support walls are resilient and have self-retaining forms in vertical section including middle sections curving outwardly away from one another when mounted on a bag. Top portions of the support walls extend outwardly away from one another to form gripping panels when the closure is closed. A die head for forming a closure member includes a body that defines a slot including a support wall segment for forming the support wall of the closure member. The support wall segment includes first and second portions oriented transverse to one another and intersecting at a vertex. To form the closure member, polymer is extruded through the slot and quenched.
