The seatback section has a passenger's back supporting surface and an upper end surface that includes a central indentation area configured to receive a child seat retaining strap. The strap attachment structure is rigidly fixed to one of the seat cushion section and the seatback section beneath the central indentation area. The central indentation area and the strap attachment structure are positioned and configured such that with a child seat positioned on the seat cushion section, a securing strap of the child seat extending over the upper end surface of the seatback section overlays the central indentation area and attaches to the child seat supporting strap attachment structure.

The strap retaining clip is attached to a rear surface of the seatback section. The strap attachment structure is rigidly fixed to one of the seat cushion section and the seatback section beneath the upper end surface. The strap retaining clip and the strap attachment structure are positioned and configured such that with a child seat positioned on the seat cushion section, a securing strap of the child seat extending over the upper end surface of the seatback section passes through the strap retaining clip and attaches to the strap attachment structure.

A vehicle entertainment system includes a tablet unit and a cradle. The tablet unit includes a display and a touch screen input device disposed on a front surface, a first electrical connection, a first mounting mechanism, and a wireless receiver. The wireless receiver is configured to receive media data from a wireless network and the touch screen input device is configured to receive input from a user. The cradle is disposed in a headrest in a vehicle and includes a second electrical connection and a second mounting mechanism. The tablet unit is electrically connected to the cradle via the first and second electrical connections, and is physically coupled to the cradle via the first and second mounting mechanisms upon mounting the tablet unit to the cradle.

A pivot tube rotatably supports the brackets along a first axis. At least one seat connector is connected to the pivot tube for non-rotatably supporting the pivot tube relative to the seat of the vehicle. A pair of latches are each non-rotatably disposed about the pivot tube adjacent to each of the brackets. A pair of cams are each rotatably connected to one of the brackets and are rotatable between a latched position and an unlatched position. At least one release connector is connected to each of the cams and is moveable for providing the rotating movement of the cams in response to movement of the release connector to provide synchronized rotation of the cams.

The seat back pivotally connected to the seat bottom by a bracket where the bracket has a seat bottom portion and a seat back portion. The seat bottom portion is arranged at an angle θ with respect to the seat back portion so as to generally form a right angle. A main pivot axis extends through the seat bottom. The distal end of the seat bottom portion of the bracket is pivotally connected to the main pivot. The distal end of the seat back portion of the bracket is connected to the seat back so as to pivot the seat back with respect to the seat bottom. The seat back is configured to rotate on top of the seat bottom to a stowed position.

A headrest is provided that can have increased comfort and safety. The headrest can include: an affixed-side member provided to a headrest pillar; a mobile-side member that is joined to the affixed-side member with a mobile mechanism therebetween and that can move in the front-back direction with respect to the affixed-side member; and a front-back locking mechanism that has an engaged section and a lock member that engages the engaged section, and that locks and unlocks the movement of the mobile-side member in the front-back direction. Also, the mobile-side member has a front-side cover for supporting a head. Furthermore, the engaged section is attached to the back surface of the front-side cover.

A head restraint may include a support structure with an opening, adjustable flexible elongated members, and an adjustment mechanism. The elongated members may be attached to the support structure, may span the opening in the support structure, and may be configured to support a user's head. Described are lightweight headrests with a perimeter frame 200 with an open central region. The open central region is spanned by a suspension membrane 100 held in tension. The suspension membrane provides support and cushioning functions to a passenger head without the need for internal structures or compression cushions. The perimeter frame of the headrest may have additional cross members spanning the rear portion of the headrest. These cross members may provide additional structure or locate attachment points for the headrest onto the seat.
