A seat assembly having a seat back and an armrest. The armrest is disposed on the seat back and is configured to pivot about an axis of rotation. The armrest has a headrest that is moveable between an extended position and a retracted position. The armrest is inhibited from pivoting about the axis of rotation when the headrest is in the extended position.

Headrest

A headrest (1) includes a stay (6), a framework (2) supported by the stay (6) in a turnable manner toward a head of a sitting person, and supporting the head thereof, a shaft member (4) to be actuated in conjunction with the turning of the framework (2), and turning at a larger angle than a turning angle of the framework (2), and a coil spring (5) including a coil (50) wound around a pivot portion (47) of the shaft member (4) in a direction tightening the shaft member (4) when the framework (2) turns to the opposite side to the head side of the sitting person, and supports the head of the sitting person.

Gearbox for actuating a component of a vehicle seat

A gearbox for actuating at least one component of a vehicle seat. The gearbox includes a housing. An input pulley and an output pulley are rotatably coupled to the housing. A sun gear is attached to one of the pulleys. A ring gear is coupled to the housing and disposed about the sun gear. A plurality of planetary gears are attached to the other of the pulleys and are operably engaged with the sun gear and the ring gear. An input cable is coupled to the input pulley to rotate the input pulley in a first direction. An output cable is coupled to the output pulley and moves in a first direction in response to rotation of the input pulley. A biasing member is operatively connected to the output pulley to rotate the output pulley in a second direction opposite of the first direction to move the input cable.

A control system is disclosed for enhancing the visibility of a driver of a vehicle. The control system may include a sensor configured to generate a signal indicative of a weight placed on a passenger seat and at least one motor configured to adjust a position of the passenger seat. The control system may also include a controller in communication with the sensor and the at least one motor. The controller may be configured to receive the signal from the sensor, determine that the passenger seat is unoccupied based on the signal, and automatically generate a command signal directed to the at least one motor to adjust the passenger seat to a prospective position.

Bearing for use in sliding head restraint

The present disclosure relates to bearings, guide sleeves and head restraint assemblies for automobiles.

VEHICLE ENTERTAINMENT TABLE UNIT AND CRADLE

A vehicle entertainment system includes a tablet unit and a cradle. The tablet unit includes a display and a touch screen input device disposed on a front surface, a first electrical connection, a first mounting mechanism, and a wireless receiver. The wireless receiver is configured to receive media data from a wireless network and the touch screen input device is configured to receive input from a user. The cradle is disposed in a headrest in a vehicle and includes a second electrical connection and a second mounting mechanism. The tablet unit is electrically connected to the cradle via the first and second electrical connections, and is physically coupled to the cradle via the first and second mounting mechanisms upon mounting the tablet unit to the cradle.

Connectors for speakers disposed in headrests

The technology can be embodied in a headrest that includes an enclosure that includes one or more acoustic transducers. The headrest includes a bar for mounting on a backrest of the seat, such that the mounted headrest is movable with respect to the backrest to different positions over an adjustable range. The bar includes one or more wires each of which is coupled to an electrical contact at one end, and an acoustic transducer at an opposite end, the one or more wires disposed within a hollow interior portion of the bar. The bar also includes an opening for permitting an electrical connection to be established between an electrical connector coupled to an external source, and the electrical contact coupled to the one or more wires. The connection is maintained over the adjustable range of the headrest by a mechanical bias on either the electrical connector or the electrical contact.
