Railcar and door pocket post
A railcar includes a side sliding door and entrance peripheral-member surrounding the side entrance. The entrance peripheral-member includes a door pocket post in which outer and inner portions are inwardly of the outer portion in car-width direction coupled to each other. The side sliding door peripheral portion is pressed against an edge portion, extending along the side entrance of the entrance peripheral-member via a rubber seal at the side entrance closed state. In the side entrance open state, the side sliding door is pulled into a door pocket space facing the door pocket post inner portion. A portion projecting inwardly in car-width direction beyond the inner portion and including a tip end contacting the rubber seal provided at at least part of region constituted by portions of upper and lower edges of the side entrance peripheral-member and lateral edge at the edge portion door pocket post side of the entrance peripheral-member.

According to some embodiments, a railcar comprises at least two hoppers for transporting a commodity. Each hopper comprises a pair of side walls and a floor. The railcar further comprises a composite partition separating the hoppers. The composite partition comprises a frame comprising a first material coupled to the pair of side walls and the floor at a location separating hoppers. The frame comprises a center opening. The frame is configured to provide structural support for structural loads exerted on the pair of side walls and the floor. The composite partition further comprises a composite section comprising a second material coupled to the frame and covering the central opening of the frame. The composite section is configured to withstand loads exerted on the composite section by the commodity transported in the hoppers.

According to some embodiments, a railcar comprises at least two hoppers for transporting a commodity. Each hopper comprises a pair of side walls and a floor. A car belonging to a rolling vehicle, characterized in that it includes sidewalls in the form of a single piece made from composite material including a sandwich structure provided with a first skin on the outside of the car, a second skin on the inside of the car and a closed-cell foam or honeycomb core between the skins, the walls being provided with window openings formed by interruptions in the drapes of longitudinal fibres, transverse fibres and intersecting diagonal fibres, the openings having a polygonal shape that reduces the surface area of interrupted diagonal fibres in the corners of the openings.

A car belonging to a rolling vehicle, characterized in that it includes sidewalls in the form of a single piece made from composite material including a sandwich structure provided with a first skin on the outside of the car, a second skin on the inside of the car and a closed-cell foam or honeycomb core between the skins, the walls being provided with window openings formed by interruptions in the drapes of longitudinal fibres, transverse fibres and intersecting diagonal fibres, the openings having a polygonal shape that reduces the surface area of interrupted diagonal fibres in the corners of the openings.
