Crossbow bowstring positioning systems are provided. In one aspect of the invention a crossbow bowstring positioning system has a crank housing supporting an axle and positioning a first connector at a front facing surface of the crank housing, a length of rope connected between two separated points on the axle; a bowstring connector joined to the length of rope and connectable to a bowstring of the crossbow, a mounting having a buffer tube mount mountable to a buffer tube of a crossbow; and a crank operable to rotate the axle to control an extent to which the rope is wound onto the axle and a position of the bowstring connector relative to the axle. The crank housing and mounting can be readily assembled in a small space and an efficient manner while providing paths through which a force experienced by the axle during use can be resisted.

An archery release can include a release body, one or more calipers or jaws defining a bowstring notch, the jaws pivotally joined with a release body, and a trigger moveable between a hold mode to hold a bowstring and a release mode to release the bowstring. The release can include first and second magnets that exert a magnetic repelling force on one another, thereby causing the trigger to automatically reset to the hold mode, whereby the calipers or jaws reset to a closed position, optionally without the aid of any mechanical spring or other biasing element. The first and second magnets can be offset from one another to urge the trigger to move laterally relative to a longitudinal axis of the release, and thereby open the jaws or calipers. A related method of use is provided.

An archer release aid includes an engagement mechanism that is operated by a thumb or finger of an archer to engage and retain a bow string or attachment thereto such as a D-loop. The engagement mechanism may be biased so that when the archer releases pressure on the actuator, the engagement mechanism disengages the bow string. A locking mechanism may be operated by another finger of the archer, such as the little finger, to lock the engagement mechanism in the engaged position. The release aid allows muscle relaxation, rather than muscle tension, to be the final triggering mechanism.

Projectile launcher trigger

A trigger assembly for a projectile launcher with a hinged cuff that attaches to the launcher pole using a quick-release mechanism. A trigger mechanism has a elongated finger, one end of which is bent 90 to a stem that is pivotally mounted. One end of a release bar is pivotally mounted to the stem bend such that pulling the trigger pulls the release bar backwardly. A pivotally-mounted catch has an arm that forms a notch for the launcher pouch loop. The catch is held in the capture position by the release arm holding against a ledge on the catch. Pulling the trigger causes the release arm to release the catch. A pivotally-mounted safety latch has a finger with a notch that hooks onto a pin in the trigger to prevent pulling the trigger. A latch release lever enables the user to disengage the latch from the pin.

A handheld archery release is convertible between hinge and trigger modes of operation. The release includes a handle which contains a sear assembly operable between hold and fire positions. Hinge and trigger assemblies are connected with the handle and with the sear assembly to operate the sear assembly in both modes of operation. A linkage assembly is connected with the handle and rotates the sear assembly toward the fire position when the trigger assembly is operated and biases the sear assembly in a first direction when the hinge assembly is operated.

Archery release device having slide adjustability for a support of a bowstring holder

An archery release device has, in an embodiment, a body, a base, a support, a bowstring holder and a driver. The base is pivotally coupled to the body, and the support holds or supports the bowstring holder. The bowstring holder is pivotally coupled to the support. The support is configured to be slid relative to the base in response to an action of the driver.
