Magnetic trigger assembly with reduced travel and method
09915491 · 2018-03-13 · ·

A trigger assembly includes one or more stationary magnets and a trigger member pivotable relative to the stationary magnets. The trigger member includes a base portion with a pivot point, an actuating portion extending from the base portion in a first direction, and a magnetic trigger portion extending from the base portion in a second direction. The magnetic trigger portion operatively engages the stationary magnets in a first position. The base portion of the trigger member operatively engages a first sear element, which is operatively connected to a sear arm, which in turn operatively engages a second sear element. A spring operatively biases the first sear element. The second sear element retains a bow string in the first position. In a second position, the trigger member rotates to separate the magnetic trigger portion from the magnets, and the second sear element rotates to release the bow string.

Composite archery release

An archery release configured to eliminate, or at least minimize, vibrations and/or noise generated when a drawn bowstring is released from a pre-shoot position. The archery release includes a substrate subassembly and an overmolding material bonded to each other. The overmolding material is configured to absorb and eliminate, or at least minimize the vibrations and/or noise. The archery release also includes a trigger, a release mechanism, and a latching assembly extending into a hollow interior of a handle of the archery release. Within the handle, the latching assembly is operably coupled with the trigger and with the release mechanism. The vibrations and/or noise is eliminated, or at least minimized, by placing the overmolding material at locations whereat one or more components of the trigger, the latching assembly, and the release mechanism strike or engage the overmolding material instead of the substrate subassembly.

Disclosed is a rapid access device for compound bow release aids. First regulation holes and second regulation holes distributed in an array manner are arranged on a modular mounting mainboard, and an adsorption piece is arranged. Both a first adsorption piece and a second adsorption piece are strong magnetic components, and the second adsorption piece is mounted at a position above the second regulation holes to adsorb a hook part of a compound bow release aid. An expansion hole plate is further mounted at a position of the first regulation holes of the present disclosure, and a position of the expansion hole plate can be adjusted in horizontal, vertical and rotational directions. The first adsorption piece is mounted on the expansion hole plate, such that the first adsorption piece is capable of adsorbing metal components of triggers or switches of most compound bow release aids.

In some embodiments, a crossbow comprises a stock and a bow portion comprising at least one limb and a string. A riser attaches said bow portion to the stock. A latch is located in proximity to a butt of the stock. The latch is configured to retain the string in a drawn condition. A trigger is arranged to release the latch. An extension member extends from the butt of the stock to the latch. The extension member and the stock define a cavity, and the latch assembly is oriented within the cavity.

A bow string release has a housing encasing a battery, circuit board, mechanical linkage, and a trigger to actuate the mechanical linkage. The trigger and circuit board operatively energize an electro-mechanical device such as a solenoid, which produces linear motion. A roller terminating the solenoid engages a pivotal drive cam to convert the linear motion into rotary motion. A follower link couples the pivotal drive cam to a string hook. Proper arrangement of the linkages ensures a slight over-center biasing of the linkages to securely hold a bow string, while also ensuring that only a minimal force generated by the solenoid will be required to release the string.

An archery release includes, in an embodiment, a body, a finger extension configured to be connected to the body and a hook pivotally coupled to the body. Part of the body has an arc shape centered about a point. The point is located in a horizontal plane or horizontal axis when the archery release is oriented in a vertical position. The hook has a bowstring contact surface which is positioned below the horizontal plane or horizontal axis when the archery release is in the vertical position.

A handheld archery release includes a handle and a first finger piece which is removably and adjustably connected with the handle to provide radial adjustment of the release. Preferably, a second finger piece is removably and adjustably connected with the first finger piece. Adjusting the finger pieces forward creates a flatter hand feel and provides a faster back-tension speed for shot execution. Adjusting the finger pieces rearward or backward creates a larger arcuate shape for a more swept hand feel and a slower back-tension speed for shot execution.
