Archery bow stabilizer
An archery bow stabilizer includes an elongated tube formed of at least two concentric layers of alternating stiffness or rigidity. The layers are formed of different materials, one have a low degree of stiffness and the other having a higher degree of stiffness relative to the material of low stiffness. The low stiffness material is a natural fiber material and the high stiffness material is a metal or composite material.
Weapon vibration dampening system and method
A stock for a weapon, such as a crossbow stock, that includes one or more central dampeners, such as first, second, and third central dampeners, and/or one or more component dampeners, such as first, second, and third component dampeners, that function to reduce vibrations transmitted through the stock as a result of weapon firing. The central and/or component dampeners may be positioned in the stock's foregrip section, pistol grip section, crank cocking device section, thumb grip section, rearward end section, and cheek rest section.
Archery stabilizer
An archery stabilizer includes a tubular member and an insert member. The tubular member has a first end, a second end and an interior sidewall defining an interior bore that extends between the first end and the second end. The tubular member has a first resonance frequency. The insert member is positioned in the interior bore and extends for more than one third of the length of the tubular member. The insert member has an exterior surface. The insert member has a second resonance frequency that differs from the first resonance frequency. A vibration dampening gel is positioned between the exterior surface of the insert member and the interior sidewall of the tubular member. A mounting assembly is positioned at the first end of the tubular member, whereby the archery stabilizer is mounted to an archery bow. A weight support assembly is positioned at the second end of the tubular member, whereby one or more weights are supported.
Archery bow riser with stabilizing damper
In some embodiments, an archery bow comprises a riser comprising a grip location and a cavity. A first limb is supported by the riser and attached by a first limb fastener. A second limb is supported by the riser and attached by a second limb fastener. A bowstring extends between the limbs. A vibration damper is located in the cavity, the vibration damper comprising a resilient member and a weight. A first distance from the bowstring to the first limb fastener is less than a second distance from the bowstring to the vibration damper.
Flexible string damper
Flexible string dampers can include resilient bodies configured to be inserted between strands of a bowstring or cable in archery equipment. The dampers can include openings or recesses in along their longitudinal or transverse axes to provide additional flexibility and vibration dampening. Accessories and inserts can be added to the bowstring by positioning them within the openings or recesses, and the accessories and inserts can be exchanged from the bowstring without removing the damper and without needing external equipment such as a bow press to reduce tension on the string or cable. A damper can also be used as a peep sight with a central opening configured to change in width in response to changes in tension in the strands holding it in place.
Adjustable stabilizer system
An adjustable stabilizer system preferably includes a bow mount member, a bow mount member with quick release, an elbow link member, an elbow link member with a quick release, a tightening elbow, a single thread coupler, a double threaded coupler and a weight with an o-ring. The bow mount member preferably includes a bow mounting base and a bow pivoting extension. The pivoting extension extends outward from one end of the mounting base. A threaded tap is formed in an opposing end of the mounting base. The elbow link member preferably includes an elbow mounting base and an elbow pivoting extension. The elbow pivoting extension extends outward from one end of the elbow mounting base and a threaded tap is formed in an opposing end of the elbow mounting base. The elements of the adjustable stabilizer system may be assembled in any suitable configuration.
Titanium offset string bumper
A titanium string bumper preferably includes a bumper rod and a rubber bumper. The bumper rod includes a base portion, an offset portion and a bumper portion. The bumper rod preferably includes a round cross section. A thread may be formed on one end of the base portion and one end of the offset portion extends from an opposing end of the base portion. The offset portion forms an angle of between 60-165 degrees with the base portion. One end of the bumper portion extends from an opposing end of the offset portion. The rubber bumper includes an inwardly curved front to receive a bowstring and a rod bore, which is sized to receive the bumper portion. The bumper portion is pushed into the rod bore. The base portion is retained in a riser of an archery bow.
Archery vibration damper
Systems described here include assemblies used for damping vibration. Some embodiments include an exo-skeleton with two openings, two inner cores mounted inside the exo-skeleton, two independent fasteners, each with an attachment end and a flange end. In some embodiments, the two independent fastener flange ends are mounted inside the exo-skeleton, each in one of the inner cores, and the two independent fastener attachment ends extending out of their respective opening of the exo-skeleton.
Materials for use in archery equipment
An archery bow can include a riser, a first limb coupled to the riser, a second limb coupled to the riser, a string extending between the first and second limb, and Non-Newtonian material (NN material). The NN material can be incorporated into at least one of the riser, the first limb, the second limb, the string, or another component of the archery bow. The NN material can have a material property (e.g., viscosity) which varies relative to a stress or force applied to the NN material. One or more portions of NN material can additionally, or alternatively, be incorporated into a projectile (e.g., an arrow) for an archery bow, an archery target or other archery equipment.
String bumper for arrow-propelling apparatus
A bumper for limiting a string displacement on a projectile accelerating apparatus is described for absorbing vibrations thereof, the bumper comprising an hollowed body including an opening portion at a first end of the body, an expansion portion inside the hollowed body and adjacent to the opening portion, a damper portion adjacent to the expansion portion inside the hollowed body, the damper portion including a volume of air that is compressible when the opening portion is closed, and a string-contacting portion disposed on an exterior surface of a second end of the body, the distal wall and the string-contacting portion being moveable toward the opening portion to compress the volume of air in the damper portion in consequence of a string contact on the string-contacting portion. A projectile accelerating apparatus including same and a method of using same are also presented.
