Pesticidal compositions
A formulated composition suitable for controlling or preventing pathogenic damage in a plant comprising (A) at least one solid active ingredient having a water solubility of at most 100 μg/liter at 25° C. at neutral pH, in an amount of at least 1 weight %, based on the total weight of the formulated composition, (B) at least one non-ionic surface active compound having a hydrophile-lipophile balance (HLB) of between 10 and 18, one or more customary formulation auxiliaries, and water; wherein active ingredient (A) is suspended or dispersed in the water, the weight ratio of surface active compound (B) to active ingredient (A) is in the range of from 1.5 to 15.0, provided the minimum amount of surface active compound (B) is at least 6 weight %, based on the total weight of the formulated composition. Also a method of improving pesticide residue levels in agriculture.
Pesticidal active mixtures comprising isoxazoline compounds I
The present invention relates to pesticidal mixtures comprising as active compounds 1) at least one isoaxazoline compound I of the formula (I) ##STR00001## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5 and A are defined in the description; and 2) at least one active compound II selected from a group A comprising acteylcholine esterase inhibitors, GABA-gated chloride channel antagonists, sodium channel modulators, nicotinic acteylcholine receptor agonists/antagonists, chloride channel activators, juvenile hormone mimics, compounds affecting the oxidative phosphorylation, inhibitors of the chitin biosynthesis, moulting disruptors, inhibitors of the MET, voltage-dependent sodium channel blockers, inhibitors of the lipid synthesis and other compounds as defined in the description, in synergistically effective amounts. The invention relates further to methods and use of these mixtures for combating insects, arachnids or nematodes in and on plants, and for protecting such plants being infested with pests, especially also for protecting plant propagation material as like seeds.
Metal oxide coating of water insoluble ingredients
The invention relates to process for coating a solid, water-insoluble particulate matter, with a metal oxide comprising: (a) contacting the solid water-insoluble particulate matter with a cationic additive in an aqueous medium to obtain a dispersion of said particulate matter having a positive zeta potential; (b) coating the solid water-insoluble particulate matter by precipitation of a metal oxide salt onto the surface of the particulate matter, forming a metal oxide layer thereon; and (c) aging said coating layer. The invention further relates to coated particulate matter obtained by the process and to compositions comprising solid, water-insoluble particulate matter, coated by a metal oxide layer, the particulate matter being a dermatological active agent or a pesticide. The invention additionally relates to methods of treating a surface condition in a subject using compositions comprising solid, water insoluble dermatologically active agent, coated by a metal oxide layer.
Method of combatting sea lice
The invention provides a method of treatment of farmed fish to combat infestation by multicellular ectoparasites with exoskeletons, which method comprises topically exposing farmed fish, especially salmon in sea cages, to a first and a second sea lice treatment agent, said first sea lice treatment agent being a carbamate or organophosphate and said second sea lice treatment agent being a pyrethroid or pyrethrin.
