Caries detection using intraoral scan data
In an implementation, a processing device receives first intraoral scan data generated at a first time and analyzes the first intraoral scan data to determine a first representation of a caries from the first intraoral scan data. The processing device receives second intraoral scan data generated at a second time and analyzes the second intraoral scan data to determine a second representation of the caries from the second intraoral scan data. The processing device compares the second representation of the caries to the first representation of the caries and tracks the caries over time based on a difference between the second representation of the caries and the first representation of the caries.
Dental Sensor For The Intraoral Region
The present invention relates to a dental sensor (100) for an intraoral region, having a region (101) of plastic material (103) for molding a tooth region (105) during insertion of the dental sensor (100), which is curable after molding.
Method and system for augmented reality guided surgery
A method and system for facilitating the placement of a dental implant device using augmented reality, and simultaneously capturing the result of the placement for subsequent planning procedures. By planning a desired dental implant location using one or more preoperative images of a patient and overlaying the planned dental implant location and the one or more preoperative images on the patient through virtual reality means, a clinician may be provided with an awareness of the positional relationship between the preoperative images and the planned implant position.
METHOD OF REGISTERING AN IMAGING SCAN WITH A COORDINATE SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS
A method of relating an object to a coordinate system, the object being supported by a support element, and the object and the support element being housed within a housing, includes engaging a registration element with the object or the support element, conducting an optical surface scan of the object and the registration element, using an optical scanner, to form a three-dimensional surface image of the object, the three-dimensional surface image having the coordinate system associated therewith, with the registration element being associated with the coordinate system, and correlating the object with the registration element in the three-dimensional surface image so as to register the object with the coordinate system. Associated methods and systems are also provided.
Device for holding x-ray films
A method for producing a holding apparatus for an x-ray film for teeth of a patient. The method includes performing an image registration of a first two-dimensional x-ray image of a tooth of an upper or lower jaw in a three-dimensional volume-tomographic data record of a jaw with a computer, determining a relative position of the first two-dimensional x-ray image within the three-dimensional volume-tomographic data record, preparing a virtual model for a holding apparatus that is attachable to the teeth of the upper or lower jaw in an interlocking fashion on the basis of the three-dimensional volume-tomographic data record, and producing the holding apparatus based on the virtual model. The holding apparatus includes a holding element which holds the x-ray film in a defined position. The defined position is established by the relative position of the first two-dimensional x-ray image in the three-dimensional volume-tomographic data record.
Method and system for generating a panoramic image
A method for generating a panoramic image of a patient includes obtaining a digital 3D surface representation of at least a part of the patient's teeth; using the obtained digital 3D surface representation to define a customized path following the arch form of the patient's teeth; obtaining a plurality of x-ray images of at least a part of one of the patient's jaws and/or teeth; and generating the panoramic image of the patient using the customized path.
System and method for providing imaging parameters
A system that comprises an X-ray imaging device for capturing an X-ray image on an imaging film, and a device for reading out said imaging film. The imaging film includes an optically readable marking, and the X-ray imaging device and/or the readout device includes a device for reading information stored on the data carrier, the data device being designed to register the optically readable marking using said readout device. A method for providing information for a readout device is also disclosed.
Barrier-contained radiological sensor holder
The present invention is an improved barrier-contained radiological sensor holder. In particular, the present invention is directed to radiological sensor holder contained in a barrier to reduce or prevent contamination. The radiological sensor holder preferably comprises a sensor holder at least partly contained within a barrier having a closed end and an open end. The barrier preferably comprises elastomer latex material and the sensor holder preferably comprises a polymer-based material with a treated surface or material characteristics amenable to anchorage of the elastomer. Alternatively, the holder is a wood pulp-based material with naturally coarse or irregular surface characteristics providing anchorage infusion of the elastomer. The sensor holder preferably has a sleeve with a base, first and second sides, and an opposing face and a bite wing integrally formed with the sleeve along a spine on the base. The sensor holder may alternately include an expansion slot along the opposing face.
Distributed system for fabricating dental aligners
Systems and methods for fabricating aligners include a central processing system and a dental aligner fabrication system. The central processing system includes or provides a patient intake portal corresponding to a first dentist or orthodontist who conducts an intraoral scan or administers an impression of the patient, a treatment plan portal corresponding to a treatment plan computing system which generates treatment plan data for the patient, and an approving dental portal corresponding to a second dentist or orthodontist who approves the treatment plan. The fabrication system includes fabrication equipment which produces one or more dental aligners based on the treatment plan data.
MOVABLE AND STATIC COLLIMATORS AND X-RAY SOURCE ARRANGEMENTS FOR INTRAORAL TOMOSYNTHESIS
An intraoral tomosynthesis imaging apparatus having an intraoral detector coupled to a frame or radio-opaque marker attached to its radiation facing surface without any frame attached, wherein the frame defines a target aperture for an incident radiation beam. An enclosure seats against the target aperture and houses at least one x-ray source configured to emit a radiation beam from each of a plurality of focal points within the enclosure A collimator is disposed to form a collimated radiation beam and direct the collimated beam through the target aperture and to the detector. A geometric calibration phantom having a plurality of radio-opaque markers is disposed in the path of the collimated beam. This arrangement is modified to operate as a regular intraoral imaging device by accommodating a high-power central source at the same or different distances as other sources from the detector and displacing the phantom from the field of view.
